Chapter 177 Why didn't you invite me when you asked my girlfriend to have coffee?

Eight years ago, Shen Zhe went abroad to study with his older sister Shen Xinyi. Si Lili thought he would stay abroad for a long time and never come back, but she never expected to see him again.

"I just got back yesterday." Shen Zhe glanced at the empty seat opposite Si Lili. "Aren't you going to invite me to sit down?"

"Of course, please sit down!" Si Lili gestured to him with her eyes, inviting him to sit down warmly, and then waved to the waiter.

The waiter approached Si Lili and asked politely and respectfully, "How can I help you, ma'am?"

Si Lili smiled and said to the waiter, "A mocha for this gentleman, no sugar, please!"

"Okay, please wait a moment!" the waiter said, turning and walking towards the bar.

Shen Zhe narrowed his eyes slightly, watching the waiter turn and leave. His gaze returned to Si Lili, a smile playing on his lips, his eyes gentle as water. He said softly, "So many years have passed, I didn't expect you to still remember my preferences."

A glint of light flashed in Si Lili's eyes as she playfully replied, "Of course! I know all of Shen Zhe's preferences by heart. It's a tacit understanding we've had since childhood, so how could I possibly forget it so easily?"

She suddenly seemed to remember something and asked, "Did Sister Xinyi come back with you too?"

Shen Zhe nodded. "Yes, we came back together."

His gaze met Lili's questioning eyes, and he seemed to see what she was thinking. He took the initiative to explain, "She just returned to the country and is still adjusting. She's sleeping at home to adjust to the time difference."

"Oh! I see! No wonder I didn't see her with you!" Si Lili suddenly realized. "You're all back. Uncle Shen and Aunt Shen must be overjoyed."

While you're back, spend some quality time with your parents at home. They may not say it, but they must have missed you terribly over the years.

Shen Zhe felt that Si Lili's words made sense, and told her the truth: "Yes, my father and mother are getting old, and they can't be without their children by their side. This time, my sister and I are back and we don't plan to leave again. We will stay by their side and take good care of them."

"Uncle Shen and Aunt Shen will be very happy." Manager Si was genuinely happy for Shen Zhe's parents.

Shen Zhe complained helplessly, "How could they not be happy! Now they finally have someone to nag about!"

The two elderly people would love to spend the remaining 16 hours of the day—excluding 8 hours of sleep—nagging incessantly in front of my sister and me!

Si Lili smiled slightly and said softly, "That's understandable. After all, they've been lonely for too long. Now that they see you two siblings back, they're naturally very happy and will be around you every day."

Also, that's how parents are; the more they nag you, the more it means they care about you and love you!

Shen Zhe nodded repeatedly in agreement, but then looked distressed. "Yes, you're right! But do you know what? Your Uncle Shen and Aunt Shen were nagging about me and your sister Xinyi, but your sister Xinyi got tired of it and simply locked herself in her bedroom and wouldn't come out."

If I had to pick the one suffering the most, it would be me. I'm not even allowed the chance to go back to my room and get a good night's sleep.

"Look at my eyes, don't I have dark circles?" he said, leaning his upper body closer to Si Lili and pointing to his eye sockets for her to see.

Si Lili looked closely and nodded: "Yes, there are very obvious dark circles under the eyes."

Shen Zhe winked playfully, a confident smile playing on his lips. "Right? I'm not lying to you. I came out for coffee because I was annoyed by their nagging."

It was thanks to my outing for coffee that I met you.

Lili, don't you think we're destined for each other? The first girl I met after returning to China was you!

Before Si Lili could respond, a deep male voice sounded behind them: "Mr. Chen, you really know how to joke. Shouldn't the first girl you met after returning to China be a flight attendant? How come it's my Lili?"

Also, if we're talking about fate, Mr. Shen is probably destined to meet flight attendants, while my Lili and I just happened to bump into each other.

As Tang Shuo spoke, he moved closer to the two people, walked to Si Lili's side, and sat down right next to her.

He stood behind the two people for a while, listening to their lively conversation, and felt a mix of emotions, as if a spice bottle had been overturned.

When he heard Shen Zhe ask Si Lili that the two of them were very compatible, he couldn't help but stand up and speak, calling her "my Lili" over and over again, which was incredibly cheesy.

People who don't know them would really think they're a couple!

Shen Zhe watched as a tall, handsome man walked over and sat down right next to Si Lili without saying a word. His brows furrowed slightly, and he asked in an unpleasant voice, "Sir, did you come to the wrong table?"

"Who said I went to the wrong table? Mr. Shen, you asked my girlfriend to have coffee, why didn't you invite me?" Tang Shuo said, reaching out to pull Si Lili into his arms to assert his ownership.

Then, a pair of unfathomable eyes stared intently at Shen Zhe opposite him, like a cheetah poised to pounce, seemingly casual yet exuding an indescribable aura of danger.

When Si Lili saw Tang Shuo arrive uninvited and sit next to her, what angered her even more was that he reached out and put his arm around her waist without her consent.

She frowned and scolded with a look of disgust, "Why are you here? Get out of my way, I don't know you, don't get so close to me."

Tang Shuo knew she was still angry with him about what happened three days ago, so he said with a fawning smile, "Who said we weren't familiar? You're my woman. How could you be drinking coffee with another man behind my back? Aren't you afraid of hurting my feelings?"

"I'm not your woman, don't talk nonsense." Si Lili bit her lip lightly, and when she heard Tang Shuo say that she was his woman, her head involuntarily drooped.

She couldn't help but feel inexplicably happy. Most of her unhappiness disappeared in that instant, and a blush of happiness involuntarily appeared on her face.

Because Si Lili had her head down, Shen Zhe didn't see the change in her expression and thought she really didn't know Tang Shuo, so she lowered her head in fear.

He felt it was his duty as her brother and best friend to help Si Lili get rid of the harassers.

With a grim face, he warned Tang Shuo, "Sir, didn't you hear her say she doesn't know you? Please leave immediately and don't harass her. Otherwise, don't blame me for being impolite."

Tang Shuo looked fearlessly at the man named Shen Zhe in front of him, a sly smile playing on his lips. "When my girlfriend and I have a fight and exchange a few words, can you believe what she says when she's still angry?"

Besides, by what capacity or position does Mr. Shen expect me to leave? And if I don't leave, how exactly do you intend to treat me rudely?
