Chapter 60 Xi Bao's Tricks

Listening to Su's mother's earnest words and seeing the woman in front of him crying uncontrollably, Si Lijue felt as if he had done something heinous and began to feel a pang of guilt.

He took out a clean, brand-new handkerchief from his pocket and gently wiped away Su Niannian's tears. He moved his lips a few times, wanting to comfort her, but didn't know what to say, and ultimately remained silent.

Seeing his wife crying uncontrollably, Su's father was worried about her health and comforted her, "Alright, wife, don't be sad. Didn't that girl from the Si family assure us that Niannian is living a good life abroad?"

She's different from her brother; she's a kind person. She said Nian Nian is alright, so it must be true.

Su's mother hastily wiped away the tears on her face with a tissue, sniffling as she said, "Husband, I miss our daughter. When do you think she'll be able to come home?"

Upon hearing this, Si Lijue recalled Si Lili's betrayal, and his expression darkened. He added another note to his mental notebook about Si Lili, thinking that he would settle the score with her when he had some free time.

Su Niannian cried even harder.

Over the past five years, she has missed her father, mother, and uncle very much, thinking about them all the time.

If it weren't for this man pushing her too hard and threatening to kill her to vent his anger, she wouldn't have stayed away from home for so long out of fear of implicating her family and Xibao.

Si Lijue was so distressed that he didn't even realize it himself. He wiped away Su Niannian's tears again and again, his movements gentle, as if afraid of hurting her.

He kept blaming the culprit who caused all of this—Si Lili.

Si Lili was playing with Xibao's toys at the old house when she suddenly sneezed twice.

Xi Bao blinked her soft, adorable big eyes and asked, "Auntie, do you have a cold? Remember to take your medicine!"

Si Lili rubbed her nose and shook her head. "Auntie doesn't have a cold, her nose was just itchy."

Xi Bao looked serious and said earnestly, "If it's not a cold, then it's possible that someone is talking about you behind your back. Otherwise, why would your nose suddenly itch?"

Si Lili frowned slightly, pondered for a moment, her mind a complete mess, "Who's talking about me behind my back? I'm such a kind person, I would never make enemies."

Xi Bao lowered her head and fiddled with the building blocks in her hands. Without even looking up, she casually said, "Based on my observation, Auntie, you are not without enemies."

You kidnapped my mother, hid my existence, and made it impossible for my father to find us. Isn't that making an enemy of my father, your elder brother?

I think he must be insulting you.

Si Lili thought her nephew's analysis was spot on, and said with a sudden realization, "Yes! How come I didn't think of something so simple?"

"Because you're too stupid!" Xi Bao chimed in.

"..." Si Lili looked at her beloved little nephew with a sad expression. "Auntie knows that I'm not as smart as your father or you, little darling. Can we not say it so directly? Your auntie has her pride too."

Xi Bao looked up, winked at Si Lili, and said playfully, "Yes, as long as you take me out for barbecue, Auntie, I won't call you stupid anymore!"

Si Lili hesitated for a moment, then advised, "Your dad won't let you eat junk food, and he definitely won't let you eat barbecue. How about we eat something else?"

She was terrified of Si Lijue, and until her parents returned home, she felt it was best not to provoke him.

Xi Bao is a typical foodie; she doesn't want to eat anything else, she only wants barbecue.

Seeing that Si Lili wouldn't agree, he racked his brains.

Suddenly, a thought flashed through his mind, and he smiled as he looked at Si Lili.

"Auntie, Dad is scolding you behind your back, making you sneeze twice. Don't you want to disobey him a little and get revenge for yourself?"

Si Lili wavered slightly and asked curiously, "How do I disobey him?"

Xi Bao said mysteriously, "It's about doing the things he forbids you to do, making him so angry he's like a toad, puffing up and down."

Si Lili nodded. "What you said makes sense. I like seeing him want to kill me but can't."

"Yes, Auntie, you're so smart, you get it right away." Xi Bao smiled brightly. "Now Dad won't let you take me to eat junk food and barbecue, but you insist on taking me to eat them. That way he'll definitely get angry, and if he gets angry, you've achieved your goal, haven't you?"

“Yes, let’s do it!” Si Lili thought Xi Bao’s words made sense, so she made a quick and decisive decision.

Xi Bao clapped her chubby little hands and cheered, "Wow! Auntie is so great!" Then, she quickly gathered up all the toys on the floor.

He patted non-existent dust off his hands in a serious manner and said to the still bewildered Si Lili, "Let's go, Auntie."

"Where to?" Si Lili asked, puzzled.

Xi Bao: "Of course I'll take you to eat barbecue, just to spite your older brother!"

"Did I agree to that?" Si Lili asked in surprise.

She wasn't sure when she had promised to take Xibao out for barbecue, and she felt like something was off, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it.

Xi Bao answered confidently, "I promised. You just said it yourself, Auntie. Good children shouldn't lie, and adults should keep their word."

"You won't be that kind of person who breaks their word, will you?" After saying that, his big, dark eyes stared intently into Si Lili's eyes, meeting her gaze.

"No, your aunt always keeps her word and would never lie." Si Lili didn't dwell on whether she had actually said that. In order not to upset her little nephew, she agreed on the spot: "Okay! Let's go eat barbecue now."

"Okay! Xibao wants to give Auntie a stamp!" Xibao took out a stamp from her schoolbag, stamped it on Silili's hand, and then pulled Silili outside.

Looking at the "Good Child" stamp on the back of her hand, Si Lili felt like she had been tricked, but she couldn't produce any evidence, so she could only accompany Xibao to eat barbecue in a daze.

The conversation at the Su family's side is still ongoing.

Su Niannian's uncle couldn't bear to see his sister cry. He frowned and thought for a moment before suggesting, "Sister, don't cry. If you don't like it, I'll go abroad to find Niannian and bring her back."

"If Si Lijue still holds onto that matter, we can just have Niannian sacrifice herself again, and have Si Lijue sleep with our Niannian willingly this time. That way, we'll even things out."

"Will he agree?" Su's mother's voice choked with emotion. "If he really agrees, I don't mind Niannian sacrificing herself again. Anyway, Niannian is madly in love with him, so it doesn't really matter who sleeps with whom."

At worst, we'll just pretend Niannian got bitten by a dog. A short, sharp pain is worse than a long, drawn-out one. After that bite, Niannian can stay with us forever, and our family will never be separated again.

"..." Su Niannian was so frightened that she forgot to cry and froze completely.

What terrible idea did her uncle come up with to make her sleep with Si Lijue again? She swears she'll die in bed and never see the sun rise tomorrow.
