Chapter 12: Escape from Death

As Jiang Zhi and Lin Yu investigate the truth behind Tang Junxi's murder, they continue to get closer to the truth, which in turn leads to increasingly frantic attacks from the enemy. On this day, they search the corners of the city for clues as usual, unaware that danger is quietly approaching.

Jiang Zhi, dressed in a simple black sportswear and with her long hair tied in a ponytail, looked neat and tidy. Her eyes revealed a firmness and intelligence, and she clutched a notebook tightly, recording every detail of their investigation. Lin Yu, dressed in casual denim, had a sharp gaze, constantly alert to the surroundings.

They had just received an important clue from an insider and were excitedly discussing their next course of action. However, they were unaware that a pair of eyes were staring at them closely from the top of a tall building not far away.

He was a killer sent by a mysterious organization, hiding in the shadows, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. His face was grim, his eyes filled with murderous intent. He held a sniper rifle, aiming at Jiang Zhi and Lin Yu.

Just as Jiang Zhi and Lin Yu were about to leave, the killer pulled the trigger. A bullet whizzed towards them. Lin Yu was the first to sense the danger. He shouted, "Be careful!" and shoved Jiang Zhi away.

The bullet grazed Jiang Zhi's body and hit the wall next to her. Jiang Zhi was startled by the sudden attack, but she quickly calmed down. She knew that they had been discovered by the enemy and had to escape as soon as possible.

"Hurry up!" Jiang Zhi yelled, pulling Lin Yu up and running towards the alley next to him. Seeing that his first shot missed, the killer immediately adjusted his position and prepared to shoot again.

Jiang Zhi and Lin Yu ran wildly in the alley, their heartbeats and footsteps intertwined. They didn't know how many enemies there were, nor did they know where to run. They could only rely on their intuition to find a way out.

The alley was dark and damp, filled with a pungent smell. Jiang Zhi and Lin Yu ran while vigilantly observing the surroundings. They knew that the enemy could appear again at any time.

Just as they ran out of the alley, several men in black suddenly rushed out from the side. These men in black were holding weapons and had fierce faces, and it was obvious that they were not good people.

"Stop!" the man in black shouted and rushed towards Jiang Zhi and Lin Yu. Jiang Zhi and Lin Yu did not hesitate at all and immediately turned and ran in the other direction.

They ran wildly through the city streets, with the men in black chasing them closely. Jiang Zhi's heart was filled with fear and tension, but she knew that she couldn't stop now. Once she stopped, she would die.

Lin Yu observed the surrounding environment while running. He found an abandoned factory in front of him, so he said to Jiang Zhi, "Let's hide there." Jiang Zhi nodded and followed Lin Yu to run towards the abandoned factory.

They rushed into the abandoned factory, which was filled with a stale atmosphere. The factory was filled with abandoned machines and debris, giving it a very eerie look. Jiang Zhi and Lin Yu hid in a corner, nervously observing the movements outside.

Soon, the men in black also chased in. They searched everywhere in the factory, leaving no corner untouched. Jiang Zhi and Lin Yu held their breath, not daring to make a sound.

The men in black were getting closer, and Jiang Zhi's heartbeat was getting faster and faster. She held Lin Yu's hand tightly, her heart filled with despair. She didn't know if they could escape this disaster, nor did she know if their investigation could continue.

Just when the man in black was about to discover them, a noise suddenly came from the other side of the factory. The man in black was immediately attracted and ran towards the direction of the noise.

Jiang Zhi and Lin Yu took the opportunity to quietly slip out from the corner and ran towards the back door of the factory. They ran out of the factory and continued to run wildly on the streets of the city.

They ran for a long time, only stopping to catch their breath when they were sure there were no enemies chasing them. Jiang Zhi leaned against the wall, breathing heavily. Her face was covered in sweat, and her eyes revealed exhaustion and fear.

Lin Yu was also very tired, but he still forced himself to stay awake and comforted Jiang Zhi, saying, "Don't be afraid, we will definitely be able to escape." Jiang Zhi nodded, his heart full of gratitude.

They rested for a while, then continued on their way. They didn't know where to go, so they could only walk aimlessly. Their hearts were filled with confusion and fear, but they knew they couldn't give up and had to continue looking for clues to avenge Tang Junxi.

As they walked, they came to a park. It was bustling with people. Jiang Zhi and Lin Yu found a quiet corner and sat down to discuss their next move.

"What should we do now?" Lin Yu asked. Jiang Zhi was silent for a moment, then said, "We can't just give up like this. We have to continue investigating." Lin Yu nodded and said, "But we're already being targeted by the enemy, so it will be difficult to take action." Jiang Zhi thought for a moment and said, "We can find a place to hide first and continue the investigation after the storm has died down." Lin Yu thought this was a good idea, so they began to look for a safe place to hide.

They wandered around the city for a long time before finally finding a small, remote hotel. The owner of the hotel was a kind old man who took Jiang Zhi and Lin Yu in when he saw how exhausted they were.

Jiang Zhi and Lin Yu stayed in a small hotel. They did not dare to go out and could only continue to investigate the truth of Tang Junxi's murder through phone and Internet. They knew that the enemy would not let them go easily. They had to find evidence as soon as possible to expose the enemy's conspiracy.

After staying in the inn for a few days, Jiang Zhi and Lin Yu felt that the storm had passed, so they decided to continue their investigation. They walked out of the inn cautiously, observing the surrounding movements vigilantly.
