When Shen Qingchen learned the news that Jiang Zhi had been kidnapped, he felt as if he had been thrown into an ice cellar. The chill spread from his heart to his entire body. His eyes widened instantly, filled with anxiety and anger, and his originally calm face became ferocious.
"How could this happen?" He roared, his voice echoing in the room. His men lowered their heads, not daring to look at him at this moment. Shen Qingchen clenched his fists tightly, his knuckles turning white, as if he wanted to concentrate all his anger in these fists.
He knew Jiang Yao had to be responsible for this. A woman blinded by jealousy had actually committed such a mad act. He secretly vowed to make Jiang Yao pay a heavy price, but right now, his most important priority was finding Jiang Zhi and ensuring her safety.
Shen Qingchen quickly calmed down. His years of experience in the business world allowed him to maintain a clear mind at critical moments. He immediately called the police and described Jiang Zhi's kidnapping to them in a hurried and firm voice. While waiting for the police to arrive, he began to mobilize all his connections.
He first contacted his connections in both the underworld and the underworld. He called everyone he thought might be of help, from friends and partners he'd dealt with on various matters to those he'd only met briefly. His voice was filled with undeniable authority: "I don't care what method you use, but you must help me find a girl named Jiang Zhi. She's been kidnapped. No leads can be lost."
His assistants also sprang into action, searching for clues wherever surveillance cameras might have captured them. They reviewed all the surveillance footage around Jiang Zhi's last known location, their eyes glued to the screens, not missing a single suspicious figure or vehicle. The seconds ticked by, each one like a knife piercing Shen Qingchen's heart.
The police arrived quickly, and Shen Qingchen quickly reached a cooperation agreement with them. The police brought professional equipment and experienced officers, and they began investigating from all angles. They analyzed Jiang Zhi's phone location information, the surrounding environment of the last place he was seen, and questioned any possible witnesses.
Shen Qingchen wasn't idle either, his mind racing. He recalled some of the potentially dangerous places Jiang Zhi had mentioned, the people or spheres of influence she had offended while investigating Tang Junxi's murder. He provided this information to the police, who then began a focused investigation based on these clues.
During the investigation, they discovered a suspicious van. It appeared near Jiang Zhi's last location during her disappearance, and its windows were dark, making it difficult to see inside. Using traffic surveillance, they tracked the van toward an abandoned factory area on the edge of the city.
Shen Qingchen's heart suddenly tightened. He had a strong intuition that Jiang Zhi was there. He couldn't wait to rush to the abandoned factory area, but was stopped by the police. The police said that they needed to develop a detailed rescue plan and could not act rashly to avoid endangering the safety of the hostages.
Although Shen Qingchen was terribly anxious, he understood the police's concerns were justified. So, he suppressed his inner urge to work with the police to develop a rescue plan. Using a topographical map of the abandoned factory area, the police analyzed possible entrances and exits, as well as the kidnappers' potential hiding places. They also arranged for snipers to ambush from surrounding high ground, ready to respond to any emergency.
During the preparation process, Shen Qingchen did not stop for a moment. He asked people to prepare some necessary equipment, such as protective gear and lighting equipment. His eyes were determined, and he kept encouraging himself in his heart, determined to rescue Jiang Zhi safely.
Finally, everything was ready. The police and the rescue team led by Shen Qingchen quietly approached the abandoned factory area. They divided into several groups and surrounded it from different directions. Shen Qingchen followed in one of the groups, his steps firm and swift, each step carrying worry and concern for Jiang Zhi.
As they approached the abandoned factory, they heard a commotion. It sounded like the kidnappers were arguing. One voice said viciously, "What's so good about that woman that he's so obsessed with her? If he doesn't come and rescue her today, we won't let her go easily." Another voice said worriedly, "Keep your voice down! What if we get caught? We just need to get the money, not make a big deal out of it."
When Shen Qingchen heard these words, the anger in his heart burned again. He wanted to rush in and beat these kidnappers to pieces, but he still restrained himself.
The police began to act according to the plan. They first quietly eliminated the kidnappers who were on guard outside the factory area without making any noise. Then, they slowly advanced into the factory.
Shen Qingchen's heartbeat got faster and faster as the distance got closer, and his palms were full of sweat. He held the weapon tightly in his hand, his eyes fixed on the front, not missing any movement.
When they entered the factory, they found Jiang Zhi tied up in a corner. Her mouth was sealed with tape, her hair was a little messy, but her eyes were still firm. Seeing Shen Qingchen and the police coming, her eyes flashed with surprise and hope.
The kidnappers also noticed their arrival and immediately panicked. One of the kidnappers shouted, "Don't come over here, or I'll be rude to her." As he said that, he took out a knife and put it on Jiang Zhi's neck.
Shen Qingchen's heart was in his throat, and he hurriedly shouted: "Calm down, we can discuss any requests, don't hurt her."
