Chapter 13: New Clues

Jiang Zhi and Lin Yu were in a tense and difficult situation while investigating the murder of Tang Junxi. They encountered various obstacles and dangers, but they never gave up their determination to find the truth.

On this day, Jiang Zhi and Lin Yu, as usual, were roaming the city, searching for new clues. They had been running around for days, exhausted both physically and mentally, but their eyes still shone with determination.

Jiang Zhi, dressed simply in jeans and a white shirt, her long hair casually tied into a ponytail, looked capable yet elegant. Though her face wore a hint of fatigue, her stubbornness and perseverance remained undimmed. Lin Yu, meanwhile, wore a casual jacket, his eyes revealing a sharp and intelligent eye.

They came to a coffee shop that Tang Junxi used to frequent. This coffee shop was located in a quiet alley, with an elegant environment and a literary atmosphere. Jiang Zhi and Lin Yu walked into the coffee shop and found a seat by the window.

"Do you think we can find clues here?" Lin Yu asked softly, with a hint of expectation in his eyes.

Jiang Zhi frowned slightly, and after thinking for a moment, he said, "I don't know, but we can't miss any possible place. Brother Junxi used to come here often, so maybe he will leave some clues."

They ordered two cups of coffee and began to carefully observe the environment of the coffee shop. The layout of the coffee shop was very warm, with some art paintings hanging on the walls and bookshelves filled with various books. Jiang Zhi's eyes stayed on the bookshelf for a moment, and suddenly, her eyes lit up.

She stood up, walked to the bookshelf, and picked up a book called "The Mysterious Wheel of Destiny." The cover of the book was a bit old, and it looked like it had been there for quite a while. Jiang Zhi opened the book and found a note inside.

There was a line of blurry words written on the note: "Appointment tonight, see you at the old place." Jiang Zhi's heartbeat instantly quickened, she realized that this might be an important clue.

"Lin Yu, look at this." Jiang Zhi handed the note to Lin Yu.

Lin Yu took the note, looked at it carefully, and then said: "This is very likely a clue left by Tang Junxi. We have to find this 'old place' as soon as possible."

They began asking the coffee shop owner and waiter if they knew where this "old place" was. However, no one could give them a definite answer. Jiang Zhi and Lin Yu fell into deep thought, not knowing where to start looking for this "old place".

Just when they were confused, an old man walked into the coffee shop. The old man was dressed in simple clothes, with gray hair and a look of deep wisdom in his eyes. He was slightly startled when he saw the notes in Jiang Zhi and Lin Yu's hands.

"Are you looking for this 'old place'?" asked the old man.

Jiang Zhi and Lin Yu looked at each other and nodded.

The old man sat down slowly and said, "I might know where this 'old place' is."

Jiang Zhi and Lin Yu's eyes lit up immediately, and they couldn't wait to ask, "Where is it?"

The old man was silent for a moment, then said, "This 'old place' is an abandoned factory on the edge of the city, and few people know about it. I once saw a young man there who looked a lot like the Tang Junxi you described."

Jiang Zhi and Lin Yu looked at the old man with gratitude, then immediately stood up and prepared to go to the abandoned factory. The old man looked at their departing backs and sighed slightly, as if he was worried about their fate.

Jiang Zhi and Lin Yu walked out of the coffee shop, hailed a taxi, and headed towards the edge of the city. Along the way, they were both very nervous, not knowing what they would encounter in the abandoned factory.

Finally, they arrived at the abandoned factory. The factory gate was closed, and the surroundings were silent, with only the sound of wind blowing through the weeds. Jiang Zhi and Lin Yu carefully pushed open the door and walked into the factory.

The factory was dark and damp, filled with a stale smell. They walked cautiously, alert to everything around them. Suddenly, they heard a faint sound.

The sound seemed to come from deep inside the factory. Jiang Zhi and Lin Yu looked at each other, then walked towards the direction of the sound. They passed through a narrow passage and came to an empty room.

The room was filled with old machines and sundries. In the corner, there was a black box. Jiang Zhi and Lin Yu approached the box and opened it. Inside was some documents and photos.

The documents contained information about a mysterious organization, and the photos showed unfamiliar faces. Jiang Zhi and Lin Yu carefully examined the documents and photos, trying to find more clues.

Just as they were concentrating on looking through the documents and photos, the door to the room suddenly closed, locking them in. Jiang Zhi and Lin Yu's hearts tightened, realizing they had fallen into an enemy trap.

"What should we do? We are locked here." Lin Yu said anxiously.

Jiang Zhi thought calmly, then said, "Don't panic, we will definitely find a way out."

They began to look for an exit, but there was no other exit in the room except the locked door. Jiang Zhi carefully observed the walls and ceiling of the room, and suddenly, she found a vent.

"Lin Yu, look there." Jiang Zhi pointed at the vent and said.

Lin Yu followed Jiang Zhi's finger and his eyes lit up. They decided to climb out through the vent. Jiang Zhi nimbly climbed onto a dilapidated machine and reached out to pull Lin Yu up.

They carefully opened the vent and crawled in. The vent was very narrow, barely enough for one person to pass through. They crawled forward with difficulty, and after who knows how long, they finally saw a ray of light.
