Chapter 174 Shen Qingchen's Trust

Shen Qingchen was busy handling affairs at the company that day. The documents on his desk piled up like a mountain. His brows were slightly furrowed, and his eyes were full of concentration and seriousness. The secretary came in to report some business progress, but he could sense the unusual atmosphere in the company recently, the subtle sense of turmoil hidden under the daily operations.

He knew the company must be experiencing covert interference from some force, but who was it? He sat in his spacious office, gazing out the huge floor-to-ceiling windows at the bustling cityscape, his mind racing. Just then, Jiang Yao appeared before him again. She was dressed meticulously today, wearing an exquisite white dress that swayed gently as she walked, like a blooming white lotus. She wore a faint smile, but behind that smile seemed to hide something that Shen Qingchen couldn't understand.

Jiang Yao sat on a chair across from Shen Qingchen, a subtle cunning in her eyes. She pretended to casually mention Jiang Zhi, "Qingchen, I think you've been with Jiang Zhi lately and have been neglecting the company's affairs. Besides, I've heard some things about Jiang Zhi." Shen Qingchen raised his head and looked at Jiang Yao calmly. There was no trace of emotion in his eyes, and he just waited quietly for Jiang Yao to continue.

Jiang Yao cleared her throat, a hint of hesitation on her face, as if she were weighing her words. "I heard that Jiang Zhi has been associated with some unidentified individuals. As you know, relationships are complicated in our industry. If someone unscrupulous were to get close to her, it could have a negative impact on the company." Shen Qingchen's heart fluttered at Jiang Yao's words, but he quickly calmed down. He knew Jiang Zhi; she was a person of determination and kindness.

Shen Qingchen leaned back in his chair, crossed his arms over his chest, his eyes becoming even more profound. "Jiang Yao, do you have any evidence for what you said?" Jiang Yao hadn't expected Shen Qingchen to ask her so directly. A flicker of panic crossed her face, but she quickly regained her composure. "I heard it from others, too. I'm just worried about you. After all, you've given so much to this company. If it's because of a woman..." Shen Qingchen interrupted Jiang Yao, his voice cold but revealing an unquestionable strength. "Jiang Yao, I appreciate your concern for the company, but regarding Jiang Zhi's matter, I hope you won't believe those unfounded rumors."

Shen Qingchen recalled every moment he had spent with Jiang Zhi. He remembered one time when the company faced an urgent project decision, and he was so overwhelmed that he was practically working day and night. When Jiang Zhi found out, she didn't complain, but remained by his side. Late at night, she would brew him a cup of fragrant coffee, the aroma filling the office, seemingly dispelling all his fatigue. She would also use her brilliant mind to offer him unique and practical advice, which often helped him find new paths in complex business situations.

Another time, they attended a charity dinner together. At the dinner, there was a little girl from an impoverished area who was unable to live like a normal child due to a physical illness. When Jiang Zhi saw the little girl, her eyes were full of heartache. Without hesitation, she immediately used her superb medical skills to make a preliminary diagnosis for the little girl and promised to contact the best doctor for treatment. Her kindness and love deeply touched Shen Qingchen, making him more certain that Jiang Zhi was a woman worthy of his love.

In their daily lives, Jiang Zhi is also a vibrant and intelligent person. When they go to the market together, Jiang Zhi always finds the freshest ingredients at the best prices. She also chats happily with the elderly vegetable vendors, and the elderly women love this girl with a bright smile. Back home, Jiang Zhi transforms the ingredients into delicious dishes, and they share the day's fun around the warm little dining table.

Shen Qingchen knew Jiang Zhi well. She was like a star emitting warm light, illuminating his life. So, how could he easily believe Jiang Yao's unfounded words? He looked at Jiang Yao and his tone became more serious. "Jiang Yao, I hope you will never speak ill of Jiang Zhi in front of me again. I trust her, just as she trusts me. The relationship between us cannot be destroyed by a few words from you."

Jiang Yao was filled with anger and resentment after hearing Shen Qingchen's words. She had thought her words would sow seeds of doubt in Shen Qingchen's heart, but she hadn't expected Shen Qingchen's trust in Jiang Zhi to be so deep. She gritted her teeth and stood up. "Qingchen, you will regret this. You don't know Jiang Zhi's true face at all." After saying that, she stormed out of Shen Qingchen's office.

Chen Qingchen watched Jiang Yao's departing back and sighed softly. He knew Jiang Yao had special feelings for him, but his heart was only with Jiang Zhi. He was determined to uncover the underlying problems at the company; he wouldn't let anyone harm Jiang Zhi or his company. He picked up the documents on his desk again and began to analyze the company's recent business dealings and personnel changes more carefully. He wanted to find the hidden reefs in this seemingly calm business ocean.

He first reviewed the company's recent collaborative projects and discovered that several had suddenly slowed down, and that some inexplicable funds had been flowing. Tracing the flow of funds, he discovered that the funds appeared to be flowing into some unknown small companies. These small companies appeared to have no connection to his company, but Shen Qingchen sensed that there must be some hidden secrets involved.

He investigated the company's personnel and discovered that several employees were behaving strangely. These employees, who normally weren't very good at their jobs, had recently been working excessively overtime and seemed to be deliberately avoiding his inquiries. Shen Qingchen realized that these employees might be the key to the problem. He decided to conduct a secret investigation of them and, at the same time, increased oversight of the company's finances.
