On the island, the sun gently shone on the beach, the waves rhythmically lapping against the shore. Jiang Zhi and Shen Qingchen snuggled in beach chairs, the sea breeze gently caressing their faces. Their thoughts, like drifting clouds, slowly drifted back to the time they first met.
It was on the streets of a bustling city, and Jiang Zhi was concentrating on searching for clues related to Tang Junxi's death. She moved among the crowd, her eyes firm but with a hint of sadness. Shen Qingchen, who had just finished an important business meeting, was standing on the street when he accidentally saw Jiang Zhi. Jiang Zhi's unique temperament, that kind of charm that mixed toughness and fragility, instantly attracted Shen Qingchen's attention. He was attracted to her involuntarily, just like iron filings are attracted to a magnet. At that time, Jiang Zhi's heart was full of obsession with revenge, and she felt alienated from everything around her. She felt a burning gaze falling on her, turned her head to glance at Shen Qingchen, but just looked away indifferently and continued on her way.
Shen Qingchen was deeply touched by this glance, and a strong curiosity and urge to get closer to her surged in his heart. From that day on, he began to appear intentionally or unintentionally in places where Jiang Zhi might appear. In the process of investigating clues, Jiang Zhi often went to places such as libraries and archives. Shen Qingchen would also appear there "coincidentally", pretending to pass by her inadvertently, or looking for information in a nearby location. At first, Jiang Zhi was annoyed by his frequent appearances. She felt that this man was like a fly that could not be driven away, always disturbing her when she was concentrating on her own things.
Once, Jiang Zhi was looking up a very old medical book in a corner of the library. It was part of her search for clues to revenge. Because of her superb medical skills, she suspected that Tang Junxi's death might be related to a rare disease or poison, and this book might have relevant records. Shen Qingchen was even more fascinated when he saw her concentration. He walked closer quietly, wanting to see what book she was reading. As a result, he accidentally bumped into the bookshelf next to him, making a noise. Jiang Zhi frowned and looked at him impatiently. Shen Qingchen smiled awkwardly, trying to explain that he was just curious. But Jiang Zhi said coldly: "I'm not interested in your curiosity, please stay away from me." Although Shen Qingchen was a little disappointed, he did not give up.
As time went by, Shen Qingchen began to pursue Jiang Zhi in a more direct way. He would send her flowers every day, and those bouquets were all carefully selected. There were gorgeous red roses, symbolizing passionate love; there were fresh and elegant lilies, implying pure feelings. Each bouquet of flowers was tucked into a card, and the words on it were full of affection. He would write about the shock he felt when he first saw Jiang Zhi, how he missed her uncontrollably every night, and how he longed to enter her world, share her pain, and share her happiness. Every time Jiang Zhi received flowers, she would put them aside. Although her heart gradually began to waver, the flame of revenge still burned in her heart. She told herself not to be disturbed by these things.
However, Shen Qingchen's pursuit wasn't limited to just flowers. He would also create romantic encounters in places Jiang Zhi frequented. One day, Jiang Zhi went to a park to investigate a lead after learning that an elderly man there had seen someone suspiciously connected to Tang Junxi's case. As she searched the park for the elderly man, she suddenly heard the melodious sound of a violin. She followed the sound and found Shen Qingchen standing amidst a sea of flowers, gracefully playing the violin. The surrounding blossoms swayed gently in the breeze, as if dancing to his music. Jiang Zhi was stunned; she had never imagined that this man, who always entangled her, had such a side. Upon seeing her, Shen Qingchen's eyes sparkled with joy. He put down his violin, walked towards Jiang Zhi, and said, "I hope my music can touch your heart as much as my feelings for you." Jiang Zhi's heart was in a state of panic. Unsure how to react to such a scene, she turned and hurried away.
Whenever Jiang Zhi was in danger, Shen Qingchen always rushed to the front without hesitation. Just like the time when she was harassed by a few gangsters. Those gangsters were instructed by some people related to the case she was investigating and wanted to scare her and make her stop investigating. Although Jiang Zhi had some means of self-defense at the time, she was still a little struggling to face the siege of several gangsters. Just when she was in trouble, Shen Qingchen appeared like a hero. He was agile and beat the gangsters away in a few moves. His eyes were full of anger and protectiveness. He looked at Jiang Zhi and said, "Are you okay? I won't let anyone hurt you." Jiang Zhi looked at him, and a warm current surged in her heart. It was a feeling of being protected that she had not felt for a long time. From then on, her attitude towards Shen Qingchen began to have some subtle changes.
As their feelings grew, Shen Qingchen worked even harder to win Jiang Zhi's heart. He meticulously planned a romantic date, taking her to a fine restaurant. The setting was warm and romantic, candlelight flickering gently in the breeze, and the table was set with exquisite tableware and vibrant flowers. They sat by the window, offering a dazzling view of the city at night. During dinner, Shen Qingchen recounted his upbringing. He explained that he grew up in a business family, facing immense pressure and expectations. His father was extremely strict, forcing him to diligently study business knowledge and participate in numerous business activities, leaving him with little personal time. However, this process also taught him to be strong and independent, learning how to navigate the complex world of business. He also shared his inner feelings, saying that before meeting Jiang Zhi, his life seemed fulfilling, yet he felt a constant sense of emptiness within. It wasn't until he met Jiang Zhi that he realized what he truly desired. Jiang Zhi listened quietly, beginning to understand this man's story and gaining a deeper understanding of him.
