Chapter 187 Small Friction

The morning sun shone through the gaps in the curtains onto the bed. Jiang Zhi and Shen Qingchen should have been enjoying this warm moment as usual. However, the atmosphere today was subtly different.

When Jiang Zhi woke up, her mind was still replaying a project plan she had proposed at the company meeting the day before. She believed this plan was crucial for the company's expansion into new markets and was the result of her careful consideration and detailed research. She hoped that Shen Qingchen would fully support this plan within the company's decision-making level, after all, his influence in the company could not be underestimated.

As for Shen Qingchen, he had his own considerations. While the company's cash flow had recently appeared stable, there were actually some potential risks. He worried that once this project was launched on a large scale, it might lead to a strained capital chain. Furthermore, he felt that the company's main focus should be on consolidating its existing market share, and that the development of new markets could be slowed down.

At the breakfast table, Jiang Zhi was the first to break the silence. She explained her plan in detail to Shen Qingchen, with a determined light in her eyes. "Qingchen, I have really studied this project for a long time. The competition in the market is getting more and more fierce. If we don't take the initiative, we will soon be preempted by other competitors. We have resources and a team. As long as we work together, we will definitely succeed."

Shen Qingchen frowned, put down the cutlery in his hand, looked at Jiang Zhi seriously and said, "Zhizhi, I understand your idea. This plan is indeed very creative. But you also know the company's current financial situation. We can't take risks blindly. The market is volatile now. Once there is a problem with funds, all our previous efforts may go to waste."

Jiang Zhi felt unhappy when she heard this. She felt that Shen Qingchen didn't see the huge potential behind this project. "You are always so conservative. You only see the immediate risks and ignore the long-term benefits. If you keep complacent like this, how can the company grow and develop?" Her voice unconsciously rose a few degrees.

Shen Qingchen also became a little excited. He retorted: "I am cautious, not conservative. It is not easy for the company to develop to this point. I can't put the company in danger because of a project that has not been fully verified."

The two of them were arguing louder and louder, and the originally warm breakfast atmosphere became tense. Jiang Zhi felt that Shen Qingchen didn't understand her efforts and ambitions enough. In her opinion, Shen Qingchen, as her closest person, should support her unconditionally. Shen Qingchen, on the other hand, thought Jiang Zhi was too radical and didn't fully consider the overall operation of the company.

Over the next few days, this conflicting mood continued to spread between them. They also began to have some minor disagreements within the company. Jiang Zhi actively canvassed for votes and support for his project in various departments, while Shen Qingchen secretly prevented some departments from investing resources too early.

Once, when Jiang Zhi was presenting a detailed project at a department meeting, several managers had already been persuaded by her and expressed strong interest. However, just then, Shen Qingchen walked in. He didn't directly object, but instead raised a series of questions about the project's risks, causing the managers, who had been wavering, to begin to hesitate again. Seeing this, Jiang Zhi's anger suddenly flared up.

After the meeting, Jiang Zhi angrily found Shen Qingchen and asked, "Why did you do this? Are you trying to embarrass me on purpose?"

Shen Qingchen sighed helplessly and said, “Chizhi, I’m not targeting you, I just want everyone to look at this project more comprehensively.”

"You just don't believe me. You think I can't do this project well, right?" Jiang Zhi's eyes were a little red. She felt that her efforts and enthusiasm were ruthlessly suppressed by Shen Qingchen.

"That's not the case. I just hope we can be more cautious." Shen Qingchen tried to explain, but Jiang Zhi was no longer listening.

After returning home, the atmosphere between them grew even colder. Jiang Zhi locked herself in her study, continuing to refine her project plan, determined to prove herself right. Meanwhile, Shen Qingchen sat alone in the living room, feeling helpless and worried. He knew his actions had saddened Jiang Zhi, but he felt he had done nothing wrong; he was simply acting in the best interests of the company.

This stalemate lasted for a while, and the relationship between them seemed to be shrouded in a haze. The sweetness and happiness they once had seemed to become distant. They began to avoid mentioning company matters in front of each other, and their conversations became less and less.

By chance, Jiang Zhi discovered that Shen Qingchen was secretly discussing fund allocation with the company's financial director. She thought Shen Qingchen was deliberately sabotaging her project and not allowing her to have sufficient financial support. So she rushed into the meeting room and questioned Shen Qingchen in front of everyone.

"What are you doing? Do you want to divert all the funds for this project?" Jiang Zhi's voice trembled with anger.

Shen Qingchen was a little overwhelmed by her sudden questioning. He stood up and explained: "Zhizhi, you misunderstood. We are just re-evaluating the company's use of funds, not targeting your project."

But Jiang Zhi had lost her mind at this time. She felt that Shen Qingchen had been deceiving her. "You don't need to explain, I understand everything. You don't support me at all. You wanted this project to fail from the beginning." After saying that, she turned and left, leaving Shen Qingchen with a helpless look on her face and the astonished crowd.

After this incident, a deeper rift appeared in their relationship. Jiang Zhi began to doubt whether she and Shen Qingchen were really suitable for each other. She felt that they had irreconcilable differences on many important issues. Shen Qingchen also reflected on whether her approach was too tough and hurt Jiang Zhi. Their life was no longer full of sweetness and laughter as before, but was replaced by endless cold war and mutual suspicion.

However, in this seemingly hopeless situation, the love they had for each other had not completely disappeared. They had just temporarily lost their way in this dispute over the direction of the company's development, and they did not know how to regain the tacit understanding and trust they once had.
