In her interactions with Jiang Zhi, Jiang Yao was like a hunter lurking in the shadows, her eyes fixed on her prey's every move, trying to find its most fatal weakness. She knew that if she wanted to completely destroy the seemingly indestructible relationship between Jiang Zhi and Shen Qingchen, she had to find a precise entry point.
Every time she met Jiang Zhi, Jiang Yao was extremely warm and friendly. When they went shopping together, Jiang Yao seemed to be casually selecting clothes, but in reality, she was secretly observing Jiang Zhi's every expression and reaction. When Jiang Zhi picked up an elegant dress and tried it on, Jiang Yao would smile and say, "This dress really suits you. You have a unique temperament. It will definitely make Shen Qingchen's eyes light up." When Jiang Zhi heard Shen Qingchen's name, a happy smile unconsciously appeared on her face. Jiang Yao secretly resented her, but remained calm, continuing to analyze Jiang Zhi's reaction in her mind.
They sat in the coffee shop, the aroma of coffee filling the air. Jiang Zhi gently stirred his latte and began to recount some interesting anecdotes from his work. Jiang Yao seemed to be listening intently, occasionally chiming in, but her mind was constantly digging for the hidden meaning behind Jiang Zhi's words. Jiang Zhi mentioned that she had encountered some difficulties in a project, but with Shen Qingchen's encouragement, she was filled with renewed enthusiasm. Jiang Yao's heart moved, and she felt as if she had grasped some clues.
As their relationship deepened, Jiang Yao discovered that Jiang Zhi cared very much about Shen Qingchen's feelings. Once, Jiang Zhi and Jiang Yao made an appointment to go to an art exhibition together. But before leaving, Shen Qingchen suddenly said that something happened at the company and might not be able to accompany Jiang Zhi for dinner. Jiang Zhi's eyes dimmed instantly. Although she said it was okay, Jiang Yao could clearly feel her loss. Moreover, during the entire exhibition, Jiang Zhi was a little absent-minded, glancing at her phone from time to time, as if waiting for news from Shen Qingchen. This made Jiang Yao realize that Shen Qingchen's attitude had a great impact on Jiang Zhi's mood.
Jiang Yao also noticed that Jiang Zhi was somewhat sensitive about her past. During one conversation, they stumbled onto their childhood experiences. Jiang Zhi briefly mentioned some family misfortunes from her childhood, then quickly changed the subject. Jiang Yao keenly noticed the flash of sadness and unease in Jiang Zhi's eyes. She felt this was a potential vulnerability, and she began to formulate a detailed plan of sabotage.
Jiang Yao began to delve into Jiang Zhi's past. She sought details about Jiang Zhi's childhood family upheaval through various channels, even going so far as to hire a private investigator. She learned that Jiang Zhi's family had faced a financial crisis, with her parents constantly arguing over money and ultimately divorcing. This incident cast a deep shadow on Jiang Zhi's childhood, leaving her feeling emotionally insecure.
Jiang Yao thought that if she could play up Jiang Zhi's past and cause Shen Qingchen to misunderstand her, perhaps she could destroy their relationship. She began plotting how to present Jiang Zhi's past to Shen Qingchen in a distorted way. For example, she wanted to fabricate a lie, saying that Jiang Zhi's childhood family problems had led to some character flaws in her, such as being overly sensitive and suspicious, which might negatively impact their future marriage.
However, Jiang Yao also knew that she couldn't rush things. She needed to find the right time, a time when Shen Qingchen would be most likely to believe these lies. She continued to maintain her fake friendship with Jiang Zhi, waiting for the perfect opportunity.
At a charity dinner, Jiang Yao spotted Shen Qingchen and Jiang Zhi. Jiang Zhi was holding Shen Qingchen's arm, a happy smile on his face. Shen Qingchen was also dressed in a well-fitting suit, looking handsome and confident. Jiang Yao's jealousy clung to her heart like a venomous snake. She looked at Jiang Zhi and thought to herself, "The happier you smile now, the sadder you'll cry later."
During the dinner, Jiang Yao deliberately approached them. She first greeted Jiang Zhi warmly, then exchanged polite pleasantries with Shen Qingchen. While chatting with Shen Qingchen, she deliberately mentioned that she had recently read a psychology book on the influence of family on people's personality. Shen Qingchen responded politely and didn't pay much attention. But Jiang Yao was secretly happy in her heart. She felt that this was a foreshadowing, planting a seed for her subsequent plan.
After returning home, Jiang Yao began meticulously planning how to connect Jiang Zhi's past with the theories in the psychology book, concocting a plausible lie. She filled a sheet of paper with various schemes, repeatedly crossing them out and rethinking them. She knew the lie had to be flawless to fool someone as shrewd as Shen Qingchen.
Jiang Yao also considered that if Shen Qingchen became suspicious of Jiang Zhi, Jiang Zhi would undoubtedly try to explain herself. Therefore, she needed to think of a way to respond to Jiang Zhi's explanations in advance. She thought she could start by focusing on Jiang Zhi's occasional minor emotions, such as his temper when under pressure at work. She could exaggerate these minor tempers and explain them as the result of Jiang Zhi's unstable personality caused by the trauma of his childhood.
In the days that followed, Jiang Yao continued to maintain close contact with Jiang Zhi. She gathered more information about Jiang Zhi while waiting for the right moment. Like a patient spider, she meticulously wove her web of conspiracy, waiting only for her prey to fall into the trap.
Jiang Yao noticed that Jiang Zhi often expressed mixed emotions when discussing family matters. Once, while they were watching a film about family ethics, Jiang Zhi's expression became somewhat heavy. Jiang Yao tentatively asked Jiang Zhi about the family conflicts depicted in the film, but Jiang Zhi only mumbled a few words before excused herself to go to the bathroom. Jiang Yao knew that Jiang Zhi harbored deep family wounds, and she decided to intensify her efforts in this area.
