Shen Qingchen gripped Jiang Yao's arm tightly, his eyes filled with anger and annoyance. Jiang Yao struggled in his grasp, her eyes still tinged with resentment and cunning. Shen Qingchen took a deep breath, trying to calm himself, then said in a low, cold voice, "Jiang Yao, this is my last warning to you. You've repeatedly disturbed Jiang Zhi and me. Your behavior has crossed the line."
Jiang Yao's lips trembled slightly, and tears began to well up in her eyes. She tried to impress Shen Qingchen with her pitiful appearance. "Qingchen, I really know I was wrong. Do you know? I have liked you since I was very young. That kind of love is deep in my bones, and I can't control myself at all. Every time I see you and Jiang Zhi so happy together, my heart feels like it's been cut by a knife."
Shen Qingchen frowned, unmoved by Jiang Yao's words. "Jiang Yao, your so-called love is nothing more than selfish possessiveness. You keep saying you love me, but what about all the things you do? They only hurt me and the people I love. Setting a trap in the forest—don't you know how dangerous that is? If Jiang Zhi really fell in and got hurt, is that what you wanted?"
Jiang Yao's face flushed slightly, and she lowered her head, not daring to look directly into Shen Qingchen's eyes. "I...I just wanted to give her a little trouble at the time. Shen Qingchen released Jiang Yao's arm and took a step back, as if to distance herself from her. "Jiang Yao, don't blame others for your mistakes. I've never had those kinds of feelings for you. The person I love is Jiang Zhi, and that will never change. You should learn to respect other people's feelings instead of destroying them by any means necessary."
Jiang Yao wiped her tears with her hands. A flicker of resentment flashed across her eyes, but it was quickly covered up by a disguise of pity. "Qingchen, I know I was wrong. I won't do this again. Please forgive me this time. I promise I will stay away from you and never appear in your lives again."
Shen Qingchen looked at Jiang Yao, his eyes still filled with suspicion. "Jiang Yao, I hope you can keep your word. I'm giving you this chance not because I trust you, but because I don't want to make things too ugly. However, if you appear around us again and do anything to hurt us, I will definitely not show mercy."
Jiang Yao nodded quickly, "I understand, Qingchen. I will remember your words." She turned around and prepared to leave, her steps looking a little heavy.
Shen Qingchen watched Jiang Yao leave, but he couldn't let it go. He knew Jiang Yao was a complicated person. Although she had acted very sincerely today, no one knew what she was really thinking. He was worried that Jiang Yao would not really give up. After all, her previous actions showed that she was a person who was obsessed with her own goals.
Jiang Zhi walked to Shen Qingchen and gently took his arm. "Do you think she will really listen to you?"
Shen Qingchen shook her head, "I'm not sure. But we can't live in fear because of her. We just need to do our own thing and be vigilant."
Jiang Zhi leaned on Shen Qingchen's shoulder and said softly, "Well, I hope she can really figure it out. We finally have such a peaceful and happy life now, and I don't want her to mess it up again."
Shen Qingchen stroked Jiang Zhi's hair and said, "Don't worry, I'm here. No matter what happens, I will protect you and won't let anyone hurt you."
After returning to his residence, Shen Qingchen was still a little uneasy. He paced back and forth in the room, thinking about Jiang Yao. Her eyes were filled with anger and unwillingness. "Shen Qingchen, do you think you can get rid of me like this? You and Jiang Zhi want to live a stable life, but it's not that easy." She clenched her fists, thinking about a new revenge plan in her mind. She felt that Shen Qingchen was too cruel to her, and she couldn't bear to see Shen Qingchen and Jiang Zhi living happily together while she was abandoned.
She began to recall her past with Shen Qingchen, starting from their first meeting as children. Back then, she had always thought Shen Qingchen was a special boy, sunny, handsome, and intelligent. As she grew older, her feelings for Shen Qingchen grew deeper. She had once believed that Shen Qingchen would one day be hers, but the appearance of Jiang Zhi completely shattered her fantasy. She hated Jiang Zhi, feeling that Jiang Zhi had taken away the happiness that once belonged to her.
