Chapter 246 Return to the City

Vacation time is always short and beautiful, like a sweet dream. Once awakened, you have to return to the embrace of reality. On Jiang Zhi and Shen Qingchen's last day at the resort, the morning sun shone through the gaps in the curtains onto their faces, a wake-up call tinged with nostalgia and reluctance.

Lying quietly in bed, staring at the ceiling, they recalled every moment of their vacation. The strolls through the forest, the rustling of every leaf still ringing in their ears; the frolicking at the beach, the crashing of the waves and their laughter blending into an unforgettable melody; and the novelty and delight of participating in local folk activities, the unique dances and ancient rituals, all like vibrant paintings, deeply etched in their memories.

"I have to go back." Jiang Zhi sighed softly, with a hint of melancholy in her voice.

Shen Qingchen held her in his arms and said gently: “But we also brought this beautiful memory back, and after we go back, we can also create more beautiful memories.”

They slowly stood up and began packing. Jiang Zhi meticulously folded the clothes she'd worn on vacation, each piece imbued with the scent of the resort. She carefully placed the small souvenirs she'd purchased locally into the corners of the suitcase, small items that served as testaments to their wonderful time together. Chen Qingchen, on the other hand, was in charge of sorting the larger items, neatly arranging the books they'd read together and the seashell crafts they'd found at the beach.

Before leaving their resort, they went to their favorite little restaurant again. The owner of the restaurant greeted them warmly and said in broken Mandarin, "Are you leaving today? I'm so sad to see you go."

Jiang Zhi smiled and replied, "We also don't want to leave here. The food you cook is so delicious. We will definitely miss it."

They ordered a few of their favorite specialties and sat at that familiar table, slowly savoring them. Every bite was filled with a strong sense of nostalgia, and the unique flavor seemed like the last lingering memory of the holiday destination.

After finishing their meal, they dragged their luggage and took a last stroll along the path of the resort. The surrounding scenery was still so charming, the blooming flowers seemed to be bidding them farewell, and the breeze blew gently, as if caressing their faces.

Finally, they boarded the return vehicle. They didn't talk much during the journey, simply snuggling quietly together, watching the ever-changing scenery outside the window. From the lush green mountains and clear waters of the resort to the skyscrapers of the city, it was a transition from tranquility to bustle.

After returning to the city, their home felt like a long-lost, familiar atmosphere. The moment they opened the door, a familiar atmosphere washed over them. Jiang Zhi walked into the living room, saw the neatly arranged furniture, and the photos of their past hanging on the wall, and her heart was filled with warmth.

Jiang Zhi couldn't wait to get back to work. As soon as she entered the company, her colleagues surrounded her and asked her curiously about her vacation.

"Jiang Zhi, you must be having a great time on vacation, right?"

"Tell us quickly, is there anything particularly interesting?"

Jiang Zhi's face lit up with joy as she began sharing anecdotes from her vacation with her colleagues. She recounted the rare animals she'd seen in the forest, the unique plants she'd seen, and the funny little jokes she'd made while participating in folk activities. Her colleagues listened with rapt interest, filling the office with laughter.

Jiang Zhi, however, didn't let her vacation affect her work ethic. She knew she still had many goals to achieve. She quickly organized her work and reviewed the progress of her projects. She discovered that while the projects were progressing according to plan, they had also encountered some minor issues.

She began to devote herself to solving these problems. She re-examined every detail of the project and engaged in in-depth discussions with her team members. Her project involved the development of an innovative product, facing intense market competition. She discovered that during her absence, competitors seemed to have made some new moves, launching similar product concepts, which posed a significant challenge to Jiang Zhi's project.

Jiang Zhi wasn't intimidated by this situation; instead, it intensified her resolve. Drawing on the inspiration she'd gained during her vacation, she began optimizing the project. She proposed several new design concepts that not only better aligned the product with market demand but also offered significant technological innovations. She and her team worked tirelessly on R&D and testing, meticulously refining every piece of data and feature.

After several days of hard work, Jiang Zhi finally successfully solved the project's problems and made new breakthroughs. She gave a detailed report to her leader, who was very satisfied with her work.

"Jiang Zhi, you've done an excellent job," the leader said approvingly. "Not only did you not delay your work after returning from vacation, but you also brought such a significant improvement to the project. This is not easy. Your innovative ideas and passion for work are worth learning from."

Jiang Zhi replied modestly, "Thank you, leader. This is the result of the joint efforts of all team members. I have been thinking about the project while on vacation, and I hope to apply some of the inspiration I gained during my vacation to my work."

On Shen Qingchen's side, after returning to the family business, he also faced many matters. The family business is a huge business empire that involves many business areas. During his vacation, although the business was running normally, some problems arose that needed his personal attention.
