Chapter 253 Sweet Time in the Park

In the park, the maple leaves have already taken on a fiery crimson, resembling a burning flame. The crimson is intense, pure, each leaf a work of art meticulously crafted by nature. A gentle breeze rustles the leaves, as if telling the story of autumn. Sunlight filters through the cracks in the leaves, casting dappled shadows on the ground like a flowing scroll.

Jiang Zhi and Shen Qingchen walked hand in hand along the path, the fallen leaves rustling beneath their feet. Their steps were light and slow, as if they were afraid to disturb the tranquility and beauty of the park. Jiang Zhi tilted her head slightly and looked at Shen Qingchen, her eyes filled with happiness and tenderness. Shen Qingchen felt her gaze and turned around, and the two smiled at each other, a smile filled with endless love.

They walked to the lake's edge. The water was so clear they could see the sand and rocks at the bottom and the fish swimming around. The fish were a dazzling array of colors—red, white, black—swimming freely in the water. Shen Qingchen picked up a leaf, a beautifully shaped maple leaf with distinct veins. He carefully folded it into a small boat, just as he had often done as a child. He lowered the boat into the lake, and it rocked gently on the surface before slowly drifting toward the center.

Shen Qingchen said to Jiang Zhi, "This boat is like our love, it will keep floating." His voice was low and magnetic, echoing in the tranquil lake. Jiang Zhi leaned on his shoulder, smiled and nodded. Her heart was filled with emotion, she knew that Shen Qingchen was using this way to express his firm belief in their love.

At this time, a little squirrel came down from the tree next to it and was looking for food on the ground. Jiang Zhi pointed at the little squirrel excitedly and said to Shen Qingchen, "Look, that little squirrel is so cute!" Shen Qingchen looked at the little squirrel and said with a smile, "It may be preparing for winter." The little squirrel seemed to notice their gazes, it raised its head and looked at them, then continued to look for food.

They continued walking along the lakeside and saw several mandarin ducks playing on the surface. The mandarin ducks had brightly colored feathers and they cuddled together, sometimes paddling on the surface and sometimes diving into the water. Jiang Zhi couldn't help but sigh, "Mandarin ducks are truly a symbol of love; they always come in pairs." Shen Qingchen held Jiang Zhi's hand tightly and said, "We will be like them, always together."

They also encountered a stray cat in the park. It was a grayish-white kitten with big eyes and a somewhat frail appearance. Jiang Zhi pulled some cat food from her bag and fed it to the kitten. The kitten's eyes sparkled with excitement as it cautiously approached the food and began to eat. Jiang Zhi squatted down and gently stroked the kitten's head, causing it to purr in comfort.

Shen Qingchen was taking photos nearby, capturing this heartwarming scene with his camera. His photography skills were excellent, and each photo looked like a work of art. He photographed Jiang Zhi and the kitten from different angles, wanting to freeze this beautiful moment forever.

After walking along the lake for a while, they came to a lawn. There were many people flying kites on the lawn. The kites were colorful and in various shapes, including butterflies, eagles, and cartoon characters. Jiang Zhi looked at the kites and felt an urge in her heart. She said to Shen Qingchen, "Let's fly a kite too." Shen Qingchen smiled and nodded. He ran to a nearby stall and bought a kite.

The kite was in the shape of a swallow, with beautifully painted patterns on its wings. Shen Qingchen held the kite, and Jiang Zhi held the spool of string, and they began to fly the kite. Shen Qingchen ran in front, and Jiang Zhi followed behind. As she let out the string, she shouted, "Run faster, run faster!" With their efforts, the kite slowly rose into the sky.

When the kite flew high in the sky, Jiang Zhi and Shen Qingchen cheered with joy. They looked up at the kite in the sky and felt the comfort of the wind blowing across their cheeks. Jiang Zhi said: "Watching the kite flying in the sky, I feel that my mood has become more open." Shen Qingchen put his arm around Jiang Zhi's shoulders and said: "As long as you are happy, that's all."

After they had been flying the kite for a while, the kite string suddenly broke. The kite swayed in the air for a few times, then drifted away. Jiang Zhi felt a little lost, and Shen Qingchen comforted her, saying, "It's okay. The kite flew away, but our happiness is still there." Jiang Zhi listened to him and nodded.

After leaving the lawn, they came to a garden. The garden was filled with a variety of flowers, including roses, tulips, lilies, and so on. The flowers competed with each other in beauty and exuded a charming fragrance. Jiang Zhi walked into the garden, closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and enjoyed the rich fragrance.

Shen Qingchen picked a rose and handed it to Jiang Zhi, saying, "You are more beautiful than this rose." Jiang Zhi took the rose, and her cheeks flushed slightly, just like the blooming rose. She put the rose in her hair and asked Shen Qingchen playfully, "Does it look good?" Shen Qingchen smiled and said, "It looks great, you are like a flower fairy."

They strolled in the garden, admiring the various flowers. Jiang Zhi told Shen Qingchen the meaning of the flowers. She said, "Roses represent love, tulips represent eternal love, and lilies represent purity." Shen Qingchen listened carefully. He felt that Jiang Zhi was like a book full of knowledge, with surprises on every page.

After they left the garden, they came to a pavilion. Inside, some elderly people were singing opera. Their voices were melodious and full of charm. Jiang Zhi and Shen Qingchen sat in the pavilion, quietly listening to the elderly people sing. Jiang Zhi was very interested in opera. She listened attentively, swaying gently to the rhythm of the elderly people's singing.
