Chapter 270: A New Crisis Lurks

Jiang Zhi wore a simple light blue dress, her long hair flowing softly over her shoulders. Her eyes revealed concern and tenderness. She carried an exquisite fruit basket as she headed toward the hospital. Today, she was visiting a sick friend.

Jiang Zhi met this friend, Lin Yue, at a charity event. Lin Yue was a kind and optimistic girl, but she had recently been struck down by a sudden illness. Upon learning of her situation, Jiang Zhi immediately decided to visit her and offer her some warmth and encouragement.

Sunlight streamed down the street, and Jiang Zhi stood out in the crowd. Her steps were firm and steady, her heart filled with concern for her friend. As she walked through the hospital gates, the smell of disinfectant hit her. Jiang Zhi frowned slightly, but quickly composed herself.

She came to Lin Yue's ward and knocked gently on the door. A weak voice came from inside: "Come in." Jiang Zhi pushed the door open and saw Lin Yue lying on the bed, his face pale, but with a glimmer of hope in his eyes.

"Jiang Zhi, you're here." There was a hint of surprise in Lin Yue's voice.

Jiang Zhi smiled and walked to the bedside, placed the fruit basket on the table, then held Lin Yue's hand and said, "How are you feeling? You must get better soon."

Lin Yue nodded and said, "I will try my best. Seeing you here makes me feel much better."

The two began chatting, and Jiang Zhi told Lin Yue some interesting stories and shared her recent charity projects. Lin Yue listened with great interest and was full of admiration for Jiang Zhi's kindness and courage.

Time passed quickly, and before she knew it, several hours had passed. Jiang Zhi looked at the time and knew it was time for her to leave. She stood up and said to Lin Yue, "Have a good rest. I'll come see you next time."

Lin Yue looked at Jiang Zhi gratefully and said, "Thank you, Jiang Zhi. You must take care of yourself."

Jiang Zhi walked out of the ward and gently closed the door. She felt a little heavy-hearted, worried about Lin Yue's condition. But she also knew that she couldn't dwell on her sorrow, as there were still many things she needed to do.

As Jiang Zhi walked out of the hospital gate, she didn't realize the danger was quietly approaching. In a corner near the hospital, Jiang Yao was looking at her coldly. Jiang Yao's eyes were filled with jealousy and hatred. She had arranged everything, just waiting for Jiang Zhi to fall into her trap.

Jiang Yao was surrounded by several thugs, all hired by her. She told them, "Wait until that woman comes out, then follow the plan. Remember, don't hurt her too badly; just let her get hurt a little."

The gangsters nodded. Although they were a little afraid of Jiang Zhi's aura, they decided to take a risk for the sake of money.

Jiang Zhi was walking on the street, thinking about Lin Yue's condition, and was completely unaware of the danger. Suddenly, a few hooligans rushed out from the side and blocked her way.

"Hand over your bag!" a gangster said viciously.

Jiang Zhi frowned. She could tell at a glance that these thugs had ulterior motives. She said calmly, "What do you want to do? How dare you rob people in broad daylight?"

The hooligans were startled by Jiang Zhi's momentum, but soon regained their ferocious expressions. They began to approach Jiang Zhi and tried to snatch her bag.

Jiang Zhi didn't panic. With her impressive skills, she reacted quickly. She dodged a thug's attack with a sideways movement, then kicked another thug in the stomach. The thugs didn't expect Jiang Zhi to be so powerful, and for a moment they panicked.

But they didn't give up and continued to attack Jiang Zhi. Jiang Zhi nimbly dodged their attacks while looking for opportunities to counterattack. She seized the opportunity and, with a grappling move, subdued one of the thugs to the ground. Seeing this, the other thugs retreated.

Jiang Zhi took the opportunity to take out his cell phone and called the police. The gangsters knew that things were not going well and wanted to escape, but it was too late. The police quickly arrived at the scene and took all the gangsters away.

Jiang Zhi looked at the hooligans being taken away by the police, her heart filled with doubts. She felt that this matter was a bit strange. Why did these hooligans appear at this time? Could someone be targeting her deliberately?

Jiang Zhi began to recall recent events, and she thought of Jiang Yao. Jiang Yao had always been jealous of her and Shen Qingchen's happiness and had tried to destroy their relationship many times. Jiang Zhi suspected that this incident was also related to Jiang Yao.

She decided to investigate the incident and find the mastermind behind it. Jiang Zhi first went to the hospital's security room and checked the surveillance footage near the hospital. The footage clearly showed the thugs' movements and the scenes when they were waiting for Jiang Zhi to appear.

Jiang Zhi carefully observed the surveillance footage, trying to find some clues. Suddenly, she spotted a familiar figure—Jiang Yao. Before the gang showed up, Jiang Yao had been wandering around the hospital, seemingly waiting for something.

Jiang Zhi's suspicions were growing more certain. This incident must be related to Jiang Yao. She decided to find Jiang Yao and confront her directly.

Jiang Zhi went to the place where Jiang Yao often appeared and looked for her everywhere. Finally, she saw Jiang Yao in a cafe. Jiang Yao was sitting in a corner, with a hint of uneasiness in her eyes.

Jiang Zhi walked up to Jiang Yao and looked at her coldly. When Jiang Yao saw Jiang Zhi, a panicked expression appeared on her face.

"Jiang Zhi, why are you here?" Jiang Yao tried to hide her nervousness.

Jiang Zhi didn't answer her question, but asked directly: "Those hooligans at the hospital gate today, were you the one who arranged it?"
