Jiang Zhi sat on the sofa, staring blankly ahead, as if the whole world had lost its color at this moment. Shen Qingchen's words were like a sharp blade, deeply hurting her heart. The wound seemed to tear open in an instant, and blood was dripping.
Her hands unconsciously gripped the armrests of the sofa tightly, her knuckles turning white from the force. She couldn't believe that this man who had been so affectionate to her and made countless beautiful promises to her was now going to divorce her. Shen Qingchen's words kept echoing in her mind, and every word was like a sharp nail, nailing her heart hard.
"Why? Why is this happening?" Jiang Zhi muttered to herself, her voice trembling with despair. Her eyes gradually filled with tears, tears of pain and confusion. She tried to find the answer in Shen Qingchen's expression, but he just stood there silently, his eyes filled with guilt and pain, but he said nothing.
Jiang Zhi's heart was filled with pain and confusion. She didn't know what she had done wrong. They had strolled in the park together, hand in hand, admiring the beautiful sunset. The warm sunlight seemed to still shine on her face. They had cooked together at home, enjoying a warm world of their own, and their laughter and joy seemed to still echo in her ears. But now, was it all going to be shattered?
Shen Qingchen looked at Jiang Zhi, his heart filled with guilt and pain. He was struggling fiercely. He wanted to say something to explain, to comfort Jiang Zhi, but he knew that any explanation seemed so pale and powerless at this moment. He couldn't tell Jiang Zhi the truth, because that would only put her in a more dangerous situation. He could only silently endure the torment in his heart, watching Jiang Zhi endure this huge pain alone.
"Jiang Zhi, I'm sorry..." Shen Qingchen finally said this with difficulty, his voice low and hoarse. His eyes were full of helplessness and pain. He knew that this sentence was far from enough to make up for the harm he had brought to Jiang Zhi.
Jiang Zhi raised her head and looked at Shen Qingchen, tears rolling down her cheeks. "I'm sorry? Can a simple "I'm sorry" solve everything? Shen Qingchen, what's wrong with you? We used to love each other so much, why did you do this to me?" Jiang Zhi's voice was filled with despair and anger.
Shen Qingchen lowered his head silently. He didn't dare look directly into Jiang Zhi's eyes. He knew that his decision would make Jiang Zhi extremely painful, but he had no choice. His heart was full of contradictions and pain. He loved Jiang Zhi more than his own life, but he had to make such a cruel decision to protect her.
"Jiang Zhi, there are some things I can't tell you now, but please believe me, I really love you. I have my reasons for doing this, and I hope you can understand me." Shen Qingchen tried to explain, even though he knew these words sounded so powerless at this time.
"Hardship? What hardship can make you give up our relationship so easily? Shen Qingchen, you disappoint me so much!" Jiang Zhi shouted loudly, her emotions were out of control. She couldn't accept Shen Qingchen's unclear explanation, she needed a real answer.
Shen Qingchen sighed helplessly. He knew Jiang Zhi wouldn't believe him easily. His heart was filled with pain and helplessness. He wished he could tell Jiang Zhi everything, let her know his helplessness and hardship, but he couldn't. He could only turn around and leave silently, leaving Jiang Zhi there alone to endure the pain.
Jiang Zhi watched Shen Qingchen's departing figure, tears blurring her vision. She felt as if her world had completely collapsed at this moment, and she didn't know how to face this sudden blow. Her heart was filled with pain and despair, and she felt as if she had been abandoned by the whole world.
Time seemed to stand still at this moment. Jiang Zhi sat alone on the sofa, motionless, with only tears flowing continuously. Her mind was in chaos. She tried to recall every detail between them, trying to find some clues to understand why Shen Qingchen made such a decision. However, the more she thought about it, the more painful she felt. After an unknown amount of time, Jiang Zhi finally stood up slowly, her eyes filled with confusion and helplessness. She looked around at this home that had once been filled with happiness and warmth, but now seemed so deserted and unfamiliar. She knew that from this moment on, everything would be different.
Jiang Zhi dragged her heavy feet into the bedroom. She lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling, tears still flowing. Her heart was filled with pain and longing. She missed Shen Qingchen, who once loved her, and the good times they had spent together. However, now all of this has become the past, and she doesn't know how to face the future.
At night, Jiang Zhi lay in bed, tossing and turning, unable to fall asleep. The figure of Shen Qingchen kept appearing in her mind, his smile, his gentleness, his affection, everything was so clear, yet so far away. Her heart was filled with pain and contradictions. She didn't know whether she should believe Shen Qingchen's words or give him a chance to explain.
Meanwhile, Shen Qingchen returned to his room, his heart filled with pain and helplessness. He sat on the edge of the bed, looking out the window at the night, his mind racing. He knew he had hurt Jiang Zhi, and his heart was filled with guilt and self-blame. He wished so much that he could go back to the past, to their happy times, but he knew that nothing could be undone.
Shen Qingchen was filled with anger and pain when he recalled the news that his father might have been murdered. He vowed to find the truth and avenge his father. However, he also knew that in the process, he had to protect Jiang Zhi and not let her come to any harm. His heart was filled with contradictions and struggles, and he didn't know how to strike a balance between protecting Jiang Zhi and seeking the truth.
