Chapter 372 Jiang Yao's Panic

Jiang Yao was immediately filled with panic when she learned that Jiang Zhi and her allies were collecting evidence of her crimes. She had originally thought her plan was flawless, that she could easily eliminate Jiang Zhi and then obtain Shen Qingchen. However, the development of the situation was completely beyond her expectations.

She sat in her luxurious room, her face as pale as paper, her hands shaking. Her eyes were filled with fear and anxiety, and her mind kept replaying the scene of herself being brought to justice. "No, I can't just sit there and wait to die," she muttered to herself, her voice trembling.

Jiang Yao began to frantically think of a solution. Her first thought was to find Jiang Lingchuan and Gu Manqi. After all, they were the masterminds behind the murder of Shen Qingchen's father. Perhaps they could help her out of this predicament. She hurriedly picked up her phone and called Jiang Lingchuan.

"Hello, Jiang Yao, what's going on?" Jiang Lingchuan's voice came from the other end of the phone.

"Jiang Lingchuan, Jiang Zhi and the others are collecting evidence of my crime. What should I do?" Jiang Yao said anxiously.

"What are you panicking about!" Jiang Lingchuan scolded, "Calm down first, we'll think of a solution. Have you left any evidence behind recently?"

Jiang Yao tried hard to recall what she had done, her voice tinged with tears. "I... I'm not sure. I sent someone to assassinate Jiang Zhi before, and I wonder if there were any clues left behind."

"You're really more of a hindrance than a help!" Jiang Lingchuan said angrily, "Now go out and hide from the spotlight. Don't let them find you. I'll find a way to handle this matter."

After hanging up the phone, Jiang Yao hurriedly packed her belongings and prepared to leave. Wearing sunglasses and keeping her head down, she hurried out of the house. Along the way, she felt like someone was watching her, and the fear in her heart grew stronger.

When she arrived at the airport, she found that her credit card was frozen. "What's going on?" she shouted angrily to the bank customer service on the other end of the phone.

"Ms. Jiang, your account involves some abnormal operations. We have temporarily frozen your card and need you to cooperate with our investigation." The customer service replied indifferently.

Jiang Yao's heart sank. She knew this must be Jiang Zhi and the others' doing. She put the phone down helplessly, looking at her luggage with a wave of despair. She was broke and couldn't use her credit card, so she couldn't even buy a plane ticket.

Just when she was at a loss, she suddenly saw a familiar figure—Gu Manqi. Gu Manqi, dressed in a gorgeous dress and expensive jewelry, was elegantly walking into the airport lobby. Jiang Yao, as if grasping a lifeline, hurried over to grab Gu Manqi.

"Gu Manqi, help me! I'm at my wit's end now." Jiang Yao pleaded.

Gu Manqi shook Jiang Yao's hand away in disgust and sneered, "Don't come to me for the trouble you caused. I don't want our affairs to be exposed because of you."

"You can't do this to me! We are in the same group!" Jiang Yao shouted in despair.

"Hmph, in the same group? You're just a pawn we use. Now you're of no use to me, so you'd better take care of yourself." After saying this, Gu Manqi left without looking back.

Jiang Yao collapsed to the ground, staring blankly at the ceiling. She had never imagined she would end up like this. Her former pride and confidence had vanished. She was now like a lost dog, fleeing in vain but unable to find a way out.

She sat in the airport for a long time, until night fell. She knew she couldn't stay like this any longer and had to find a way to leave. She decided to seek refuge with an old friend, although she wasn't sure if that friend would help her, but she had no other choice.

Jiang Yao dragged her exhausted body to her friend's house. She knocked on the door, feeling anxious. When the door opened, her friend looked surprised at her.

"Jiang Yao, what's wrong with you?" asked a friend.

"I... I've run into some trouble. Can I stay here with you for a few days?" Jiang Yao whispered.

The friend hesitated for a moment, but ultimately let Jiang Yao in. Jiang Yao looked at her friend gratefully, feeling a little relieved.

However, her panic did not subside. She knew Jiang Zhi and her allies would not let her go easily and would continue to track her down. Even at her friend's house, she did not dare to let her guard down, and she kept a nervous eye on the surroundings every day.

One night, Jiang Yao lay in bed, tossing and turning, unable to sleep. Images of Jiang Zhi and Shen Qingchen kept popping up in her mind, and her heart was filled with jealousy and resentment. "Why do they treat me like this? I won't accept it!" she cried, gritting her teeth.

At this moment, she suddenly heard a slight sound of footsteps outside the window. Her heartbeat instantly accelerated, and she sat up nervously. She quietly walked to the window and looked out through the gap in the curtains, but found that it was pitch black outside and she could not see anything.

"Did I hear it wrongly?" she muttered to herself. But her heart was still filled with uneasiness, as she always felt that a pair of eyes were staring at her in the darkness.

She returned to bed, picked up her phone, and wanted to call Jiang Lingchuan again. However, when she pressed the dial button, the phone suddenly ran out of battery and turned off. "Damn it!" She threw the phone aside angrily.

Jiang Yao sat in the darkness for a long time, until the first light of dawn shone through the window onto her face. She hadn't slept all night, and her eyes were bloodshot. She knew she couldn't go on like this; she had to find a way out of her current predicament.

She decided to take the initiative and look for opportunities to disrupt Jiang Zhi and his team's plan to collect evidence. She began to contact some of her former connections, trying to find out their whereabouts and plans. After some effort, she finally got some information.
