Chapter 389 Jiang Zhi’s counterattack

Jiang Zhi's anger grew as she faced Jiang Yao's repeated harassment. She knew that if she continued to passively accept the attacks, not only would her life be plunged into endless hardship, but she would also be unable to focus on investigating the truth behind Tang Junxi's murder. So, she decided to stop remaining silent and launch a powerful counterattack.

Jiang Zhi began to carefully recall every detail of Jiang Yao's work and her interactions, trying to find any evidence against her. She used her connections within the company to discreetly inquire about Jiang Yao's situation from colleagues. After some effort, she finally uncovered some clues.

It turned out that Jiang Yao had secretly tampered with important data on a previous project to obtain higher performance and bonuses. Furthermore, she had used illicit means in her communications with clients to try to exclude competitors and secure orders. Jiang Zhi knew these actions were a serious violation of company regulations and professional ethics.

To gather more conclusive evidence, Jiang Zhi devoted considerable time and energy. She quietly reviewed company documents and records, searching for information related to the project. She also managed to contact other people involved in the project, hoping to gain more information from them. Jiang Zhi encountered numerous difficulties in this process. Some people, fearing offending Jiang Yao, were unwilling to cooperate, while others expressed suspicion of her actions, believing she was deliberately stirring up trouble. However, Jiang Zhi did not give up. With her sincerity and patience, she gradually won the trust of some people, who began to provide her with useful clues and evidence.

After a period of effort, Jiang Zhi finally gathered enough evidence to prove Jiang Yao's misconduct at work. She compiled this evidence into a detailed report and submitted it to the company's leadership. The company's leadership took the matter very seriously and immediately established an investigation team to conduct an in-depth look into Jiang Yao's behavior.

Jiang Yao was terrified when she learned her story was exposed. She knew that if it were confirmed, she would not only lose her job but also her reputation within the industry. So, she began to think of ways to deal with Jiang Zhi and try to salvage the situation.

Jiang Yao first sought out some delinquents she had met in society. She paid them to threaten Jiang Zhi into giving up her attempts to expose herself. One evening, on her way home from work, Jiang Zhi was stopped by several strange men. With menacing eyes, they threatened her, "You'd better behave yourself and stop interfering in Jiang Yao's affairs, or we'll treat you rudely." Jiang Zhi looked at them without a trace of fear. She knew Jiang Yao was desperate. She calmly said, "Do you think you can scare me? What Jiang Yao is doing is illegal. I won't be intimidated by you." She tried to get around them. However, the men persisted, pushing and shoving Jiang Zhi, attempting to assault her. Seeing the situation was dire, Jiang Zhi quickly looked around for a chance to escape. Then, she spotted a trash can on the side of the road with an iron rod next to it. An idea struck her. While the men weren't paying attention, she quickly ran over, grabbed the rod, and confronted them. "If you dare come over here again, I won't be polite." Jiang Zhi shouted loudly. The men saw the iron rod in Jiang Zhi's hand and hesitated. They didn't expect Jiang Zhi to be so brave and decisive. Just when the two sides were deadlocked, a police car suddenly passed by. Jiang Zhi saw the police car and immediately shouted for help. The police in the police car heard the cry for help and immediately stopped to check the situation. The men saw the police coming and fled in fear.

After successfully escaping these men's threats, Jiang Zhi didn't back down. Instead, she became even more determined to see Jiang Yao face the punishment she deserved. She knew Jiang Yao wouldn't give up, so she needed to strengthen her defenses. So, Jiang Zhi began learning some self-defense techniques to protect herself in the event of danger. She also installed some safety equipment in her residence to ensure her safety.

Meanwhile, Jiang Zhi continued searching for evidence. She felt Jiang Yao's problems might extend beyond just workplace misconduct, and that there might be other secrets hidden within. She began to delve deeper into Jiang Yao's background and relationships. During her investigation, Jiang Zhi discovered that Jiang Yao frequently interacted with a number of mysterious individuals. These individuals seemed to have unusual backgrounds, and their activities were extremely secretive. Jiang Zhi suspected that these individuals might be connected to Jiang Yao's conspiracy, and perhaps even to the truth behind Tang Junxi's murder and the cause of Shen Qingchen's father's death.

To uncover these mysterious figures, Jiang Zhi decided to take a risk. She began following Jiang Yao, hoping to find a chance for her to meet with them. After several days of tracking, Jiang Zhi finally discovered Jiang Yao's whereabouts. One night, Jiang Yao arrived alone at a remote, abandoned factory. Jiang Zhi quietly followed, carefully avoiding detection. When Jiang Yao entered the factory, Jiang Zhi followed in. She noticed several rooms with lights on, and faint voices could be heard from within. Jiang Zhi slowly approached the rooms, hoping to hear what was being said. However, the doors were closed, preventing her from hearing anything. Suddenly, Jiang Zhi heard a scream. Startled, unsure of what was going on, she hesitated before deciding to venture in. Gently pushing the door open, she discovered several people arguing inside. Jiang Yao's face darkened upon seeing Jiang Zhi enter. "Why are you here?" Jiang Yao asked in surprise. Jiang Zhi didn't answer, but instead looked warily at the others in the room. The men, dressed in black and wearing masks, looked quite mysterious. "Who are you? What are you doing here?" Jiang Zhi demanded loudly. One of them sneered, saying, "You don't need to know who we are. Just know that you shouldn't be here today." He then signaled to the others, who immediately surrounded Jiang Zhi. Jiang Zhi realized she was in danger, but she didn't panic. She picked up a nearby stool and used it as a weapon to fight the men. Although Jiang Zhi had no professional martial arts training, she relied on her courage and wit to fight them off. During the fight, Jiang Zhi noticed that the men were extremely agile and appeared to have received professional training. She knew she couldn't just fight them head-on; she had to find a way to escape. Just then, Jiang Zhi noticed the window in the room was open, and an idea struck her: escape through it. Fighting the men, she slowly approached the window. As she neared the window, she suddenly threw the stool at the men, then swiftly turned and leaped onto the window and out. Those people didn't expect Jiang Zhi to escape suddenly, so they immediately chased him. However, Jiang Zhi had already disappeared without a trace.
