Chapter 456 Jiang Zhi's Touching and Contradiction

Inside the hospital, a tense atmosphere hung like a gloomy haze over every corner. The sudden crisis caught everyone off guard. Medical supplies were in short supply, protective measures were inadequate, and every problem presented a daunting challenge to the medical staff. Jiang Zhi, her brow furrowed as she busied herself, trying to calm her panicked colleagues while racking her brains for a solution.

Just when everyone was feeling hopeless, they discovered that emergency supplies and protective equipment had appeared in the hospital warehouse, each piece neatly arranged, like a ray of hope in a time of need. Colleagues were buzzing with speculation, speculating that a mysterious person was behind the scenes providing support. Jiang Zhi, too, found it baffling. She asked around, but no one knew anything. They only knew that these supplies had appeared miraculously when they were most needed.

In the hospital's conference room, the director mentioned this mysterious helper seriously, his tone filled with gratitude. Jiang Zhi sat in the conference room, a trace of doubt in her heart, and her mind kept thinking about various possibilities. She couldn't figure out who would come to her aid at this time. She thought of everyone she knew in the hospital, but she couldn't think of Shen Qingchen. After all, there was such a deep rift between them, and in her opinion, the hurt Shen Qingchen had caused her to no longer have any expectations of him.

All of this was meticulously orchestrated by Shen Qingchen. He mobilized his vast network of contacts and resources, and upon learning of the hospital's predicament, he immediately began assembling supplies. He personally contacted suppliers and coordinated transportation, ensuring every step was flawless. During those hectic days, he barely slept, his only thought being to help Jiang Zhi through this difficult time.

One day, Jiang Zhi overheard a conversation between two nurses in the hospital corridor.

"Do you think this mysterious person has some special relationship with Dr. Jiang?"

"Who knows, but this is really helpful, otherwise we don't know what to do."

Jiang Zhi's suspicions grew, and she decided to investigate on her own. In her spare time from work, she began to pay attention to details. She checked the source of the supplies and discovered that they were delivered through complex channels, which made her even more curious.

While sorting supplies, Jiang Zhi found a note in a corner. The handwriting on it seemed familiar, but she couldn't remember where she had seen it before. The note only had a few simple words: "I hope everything is well with you." These words made Jiang Zhi's heart beat faster, and an inexplicable feeling came over her.

As the investigation deepened, Jiang Zhi discovered some clues that gradually pointed to Shen Qingchen. She recalled everything that had happened before, those seemingly coincidental things, those mysterious helpers who appeared when she was in trouble. Could it be that he was the one who did it? This thought made her heart restless for a long time.

When she finally confirmed that it was Shen Qingchen who had been silently contributing behind her, a complex wave of emotions welled up in her heart. On the one hand, she was truly moved by his actions. When she needed help the most, he had offered a helping hand without hesitation, and he did so silently, asking for nothing in return. This selfless help reminded her of all the kindness Shen Qingchen had shown her when they were together. Those warm moments they had spent together flashed before her eyes like a movie, and his former tenderness, thoughtfulness, and love for her all came flooding back to her at this moment.

Yet, on the other hand, she was immediately filled with conflict. She warned herself not to be easily moved by these gestures, not to forget the hurt he had caused her so quickly. It was a deep wound, and every time she thought of it, it still ached. She was afraid that this was just a momentary impulse on Shen Qingchen's part, afraid of being caught in the whirlpool of emotions again and being ruthlessly hurt. She built a high wall in her heart, trying to block out the impact of this feeling.

Jiang Zhi sat alone in the hospital lounge, holding the note in her hand, lost in thought. She didn't know how to face her own heart, or how to deal with Shen Qingchen's feelings. She felt like a ship that had lost its way in the darkness, drifting in a sea of emotion and contradiction, unable to find a harbor to dock.

She thought of Tang Junxi, the man who once held special meaning in her life. His departure was a permanent pain in her heart and the driving force behind her desire for revenge. The appearance of Shen Qingchen disrupted her previously peaceful state of mind. She had once believed that revenge could be her sole goal, regardless of her emotions, but now she realized that her heart was not so resolute.

In the days that followed, Jiang Zhi became even more silent. She still worked with all her might, but her colleagues could sense the change. She would occasionally stare blankly, her eyes revealing a sense of confusion and struggle. Whenever she saw something related to Shen Qingchen, or the supplies sent by the mysterious people in the hospital, her heart would stir.

Once, Jiang Zhi was strolling in the hospital garden, where she usually relieved stress. She gazed at the blossoming flowers, her mind drifting far away. Suddenly, she saw a familiar figure flash by at the garden entrance. It was Shen Qingchen, she was almost certain. Her heartbeat quickened, and she wanted to chase after him, but her feet felt like they were nailed to the ground, unable to move. She watched the figure disappear from her sight, feeling a mixture of emotions.

Back in the ward, Jiang Zhi was a little absent-minded while taking care of the patient. She accidentally knocked over a medicine bottle. In the surprised eyes of her colleagues, she quickly apologized and cleaned it up. She knew that she couldn't go on like this. She had to sort out her emotions. Whether it was her feelings for Shen Qingchen or her determination for revenge, she needed a clear answer.
