Chapter 505 The Birth of Twins

In the simple rented apartment, the dim light flickered gently. Alone, Jiang Zhi endured the excruciating pains of labor. Beads of sweat, the size of beads, covered her forehead, trickling down her temples and wetting her tangled hair. Each contraction was like a surging wave, relentlessly crashing through her body, making it nearly impossible to breathe. She bit her lower lip, leaving deep bite marks and oozing blood, but she seemed oblivious, persevering through with sheer determination and a burning desire for new life.

Jiang Zhi's hands clutched the bedsheets tightly, her knuckles white from the strain. She twisted and turned on the worn mattress, trying to find a position that would ease the pain. Her eyes revealed a complex intertwined expression of pain and determination. Though her body was exhausted, her mind remained clear. She knew she was on the brink of life and death, but her love for her child and her hope for the future kept her from giving up.

"My babies, please stay safe," Jiang Zhi prayed silently in her heart, her voice so faint it was barely audible. She thought of Tang Junxi, and the past, and tears welled up in her eyes. These tears were a mixture of joy and emotion at impending motherhood, as well as helplessness and sadness at the fickleness of fate.

Time slipped slowly through the agony, each second seeming to stretch infinitely longer. Jiang Zhi felt her strength fading bit by bit, but she kept encouraging herself deep down: "I can't fall. I have to protect my child."

Finally, after a heart-wrenching moment of excruciating pain, the clear cry of a baby shattered the silence. Jiang Zhi lifted his head with his last remaining strength and saw his adorable, pink-and-white daughter. Her face was wrinkled like a ripe peach, her eyes tightly shut, her mouth wide open. Her cry was loud and powerful, as if announcing her arrival to the world. Her tiny body trembled slightly in Jiang Zhi's arms, emitting a faint scent of milk.

"Welcome, my little baby." Jiang Zhi's voice was soft and gentle despite her fatigue. She gently stroked her daughter's face, her eyes full of love. At this moment, she temporarily forgot the pain in her body and all her worries, her heart filled with the birth of this new life.

However, the labor wasn't over yet. Just as Jiang Zhi breathed a sigh of relief, another wave of intense contractions hit. She knew her second child was on the way. She fought back the fatigue and pain, regulating her breathing and preparing for the next challenge.

"Come on, you can do it." Jiang Zhi encouraged herself in her heart. She closed her eyes tightly, concentrated her energy, and relied on her medical knowledge and tenacious perseverance to guide the birth of the child.

A moment later, accompanied by an even louder cry, my son also arrived safely. His eyes sparkled, revealing a clever spirit. He waved his fists, as if demonstrating his strength. His skin was slightly redder than his sister's, and his hair, wet and plastered to his scalp, made him look adorable.

Jiang Zhi looked at the two children, her heart filled with joy and love. She carefully placed them beside her and gently hugged them, as if embracing the whole world. In that moment, she felt the miracle of life and the greatness of a mother's love.

"Yu'er, Yu'er, mom will protect you." Jiang Zhi said softly. She named her daughter Jiang Yue, hoping that she could grow up happily and carefree; and she named her son Jiang Yu, implying that he has a bright future and a strong will.

Despite her extreme weakness, Jiang Zhi forced herself to sit up and began handling the babies' umbilical cords. Her movements were skillful and gentle, her eyes filled with endless tenderness. In this simple rented apartment, without the assistance of doctors or nurses, and without advanced medical equipment, Jiang Zhi, with her own wisdom and courage, successfully welcomed the birth of two new lives.

The birth of twins gave Jiang Zhi's life a new focus and meaning. She knew that from this moment on, she would not only fight for revenge but also create a safe future for her children. As she gazed out the window at the dawn, her heart filled with determination and hope.
