Chapter 532: Hunted by a Mysterious Organization

Every step Jiang Zhi takes in her investigation is like a sharp blade, gradually piercing the heart of the mysterious organization hidden in the darkness. However, her actions eventually arouse the vigilance of this huge and secretive organization.

On a hazy morning, Jiang Zhi, as usual, prepared to head to a suspicious location she had recently discovered to continue her search for clues. Cautiously, she emerged from her temporary hiding place, her sharp eyes warily scanning her surroundings. The streets and alleys appeared peaceful, yet a strange sense of unease permeated her.

Suddenly, a slight yet unusual noise echoed from around the corner. Jiang Zhi's heartbeat quickened, her instincts, honed over years of danger, instantly registering the approach of danger. Before she could react, an arrow streaked through the air like lightning, whistling towards her. Jiang Zhi dodged the fatal blow by a hair's breadth. The arrow lodged itself deeply into the wall behind her, its tail still humming and vibrating, as if uttering its murderous intent.

"They're finally here." Jiang Zhi's heart trembled. She knew that from this moment on, she would be caught in an extremely difficult life-or-death battle. She ignored everything else and, using her Qinggong skills, swiftly ran towards the crowded market, hoping to use the crowds for cover to escape the enemy's pursuit. Her figure moved through the narrow streets like a ghost, her clothes fluttering in the wind.

The market was bustling with people, a cacophony of noise. Jiang Zhi tried to blend in, to hide herself among them. But she soon discovered that these pursuers were well-trained and no ordinary men. They moved through the crowd like fish in water, closely tracking her. From time to time, Jiang Zhi could feel the piercing gaze from behind her, a death stare.

While dodging, Jiang Zhi spotted a clothing store ahead, filled with a wide variety of clothing. With an idea, she rushed inside, swishing through the racks, grabbing a few pieces and quickly changing her outfit. She also simply tied her hair up and hid it in a hat. Then, she slipped out the back door and turned into a secluded alley.

But the pursuers weren't easily shaken off. Just when Jiang Zhi thought she was safe, she heard hurried footsteps behind her. She glanced back and saw several men in black rapidly approaching. Jiang Zhi gritted her teeth and quickened her pace. She arrived at an abandoned courtyard with a high wall. Using the ridges on the wall, Jiang Zhi leaped over it with all her might.

The courtyard was overgrown with weeds, a desolate scene. As Jiang Zhi landed, she heard the soft sound of weapons being unsheathed. Her heart sank, knowing she was surrounded. From the rooftops and corners, a group of men in black emerged, their faces grim and their eyes gleaming with murderous intent.

Jiang Zhi slowly drew the soft sword from her waist, its blade gleaming with a cold light. She vigilantly watched the enemies around her, rapidly formulating a strategy. Although she possessed unique skills, facing so many enemies, who were clearly well prepared, she knew the difficulty of this battle.

"Who are you? Why are you chasing me?" Jiang Zhi tried to get some information from the enemy. However, the men in black just looked at her silently, and no one responded.

Suddenly, a man in black launched the first attack, pouncing at Jiang Zhi like a cheetah. Jiang Zhi dodged, dodging to the side, and simultaneously swung his soft sword, stabbing the man in black. The man in black flipped in the air, avoiding Jiang Zhi's attack, and landed steadily on the ground. Immediately, other men in black also launched their attacks. For a moment, sword shadows and knife flashes crisscrossed. Under the siege of the enemy, Jiang Zhi was like a small boat tossed in the wind and waves.

She unleashed her full power, the soft sword in her hands like a nimble snake, stabbing, slashing, and blocking, each move with unparalleled precision. Sometimes she leaped high to avoid attacks from below; sometimes she crouched and swept out with her sword, forcing back the approaching enemy. Her figure moved swiftly across the courtyard, leaving a trail of blurry afterimages.

During the fierce battle, Jiang Zhi gradually realized that although the attacks of the men in black were fierce, they seemed to follow a certain fixed pattern. She began to calmly observe the enemy's moves, looking for flaws. Finally, she discovered that after each round of attack, there was a very brief pause before switching moves.

Jiang Zhi's mind struck. Seizing the perfect moment, just as the enemy's next attack was about to end, she unleashed a fierce sword technique. Her soft sword, like a flash of lightning, instantly pierced through the defenses of a man in black and pierced his shoulder. The man screamed and fell to the ground. This strike successfully broke the enemy's siege, and Jiang Zhi seized the opportunity to dash towards a corner of the courtyard.

She used the debris in the courtyard as cover to engage the enemy. While dodging, she discovered an underground entrance on one side of the courtyard, covered by a stone slab. Without thinking, Jiang Zhi pushed the stone slab away and jumped into the underground passage.

The underground passage was dark, damp, and filled with a foul odor. Jiang Zhi ran desperately along the passage, occasionally hearing the enemy's shouts and footsteps behind him. The passage was complex and had many forks, but Jiang Zhi relied on his intuition and sense of direction to keep running.

After running for an unknown amount of time, Jiang Zhi finally saw a glimmer of light ahead. She ran towards the light and discovered that the exit was beside a river. By this point, she was exhausted, but she knew she couldn't stop. Gazing at the turbulent river, she made up her mind and jumped in.

The icy water instantly submerged her. Jiang Zhi endured the biting cold and swam downstream. The force of the current was so strong that she struggled repeatedly, nearly being swept underwater several times. But with her tenacious will and excellent swimming skills, she finally reached the other side.
