Jiang Zhi's solo investigation was incredibly difficult, each step paving the way for her. The hustle and bustle of the city seemed to have no bearing on her. In her world, she saw only the seemingly scattered clues, like pieces of a puzzle, which she firmly believed would eventually reveal a complete and astonishing truth.
Day and night, she pored over the business records of Shen Qingchen's father. Those densely packed documents and data seemed to her like a codebook containing countless secrets. During countless late-night hours, she discovered a series of murky transactions between Shen's father and a mysterious business partner. This enigmatic figure, virtually unknown in the business world, seemed like a ghost shrouded in mystery.
With her unwavering perseverance and exceptional intelligence, Jiang Zhi began investigating this mysterious partner, meticulously examining every detail. Through underground intelligence channels, she learned that this individual had indirect ties to a small business in a remote area. While the business ostensibly operated as a standard manufacturing operation, a deeper investigation revealed a complex financial landscape, with large amounts of funds flowing in from unidentified sources and then being distributed to multiple accounts under various seemingly legitimate names.
Following the flow of these funds, Jiang Zhi discovered that some of them were channeled to an overseas shell company. While this shell company had no actual business operations, it had vague connections to some notorious international underground organizations. Using her hacking skills, she carefully infiltrated several relevant financial databases (of course, this was done within legal and ethical boundaries, and only to obtain information that was difficult to obtain through public channels). She discovered that this shell company had previously exchanged funds with a mysterious organization codenamed "Shadow."
This "shadow" organization seems inextricably linked to the tragic extermination of Tang Junxi's family. While investigating the Tang Junxi family's former residence, Jiang Zhi discovers some deliberately hidden letter fragments. Although these fragments contain only fragments, they mention a mysterious organization threatening the family's safety and hint at its collusion with certain business tycoons.
In her pursuit of the Shadow organization, Jiang Zhi encountered numerous dangers. On one occasion, while investigating near an abandoned warehouse, she was spotted by a group of mysterious men in black. Armed with weapons, they quickly closed in on her. Jiang Zhi was startled, but years of training had helped her calm herself. She skillfully maneuvered around the warehouse's complex terrain, taking cover in a cluttered corner. Then, using discarded metal objects to create noise and draw the enemy's attention, she slipped behind them, unexpectedly knocked one of the men down, and seized his weapon, engaging them in a thrilling battle.
Another time, while investigating a suspicious transaction site, someone secretly drugged her drink. Fortunately, Jiang Zhi had some knowledge of drugs and quickly noticed something was wrong. She endured the discomfort, feigning unconsciousness, and waited for the enemy to approach. When they lowered their guard and prepared to take her away, she suddenly fought back, using her agility and tenacity to successfully break free from their control.
After each dangerous situation, Jiang Zhi's faith grew stronger. She knew she was getting closer to the truth, that the conspiracy hidden in the darkness would soon be unravelled bit by bit. As she looked at the increasing number of clues she had gathered, her eyes revealed a firmness and determination. She seemed to see the injustice of Tang Junxi and Shen Qingchen's father about to be vindicated, and the masterminds trembling under the judgment of justice.
She silently said to herself in her heart: "No matter how many difficulties and obstacles there are ahead, I will not give up. This is not only for myself, but also for those deceased relatives, and for justice to be served." So, she threw herself back into the tense and dangerous investigation work, and continued to follow those vague clues, moving step by step towards the core of the truth.
While investigating the collusion between a mysterious organization and the business community, Jiang Zhi discovered that seemingly ordinary business gatherings concealed secret deals. She managed to infiltrate one of these gatherings, disguised as a waitress. At the banquet, she carefully observed everyone's words and actions, her keen ears picking up any potentially useful information. She overheard several businessmen whispering about plans to collaborate with a mysterious organization, mentioning key people and locations. Their words were cryptic, like a dangerous code.
Jiang Zhi calmly memorized this information in her mind, and cleverly avoided the security patrols. However, just as she was about to leave the banquet, she was discovered by a highly vigilant bodyguard. The bodyguard quickly stepped forward to block her way and asked her to show her ID. Jiang Zhi's heart tightened, but she immediately calmed down and pretended to be flustered to explain that she was a new waiter and accidentally took the wrong way. The bodyguard did not believe her and began to search her. Jiang Zhi knew that if the investigation notes and some small eavesdropping devices she was carrying were discovered, the consequences would be disastrous.
At this critical moment, she suddenly spotted a well-known entrepreneur at the banquet. With a sudden inspiration, Jiang Zhi called out his name, pretending to be an acquaintance. Attracted by her shout, Jiang Zhi pleaded for help, claiming she had been misunderstood by a bodyguard. The entrepreneur, who knew Jiang Zhi (but was unaware of her ongoing investigation), explained his situation to the bodyguard out of respect and trust in her identity, allowing Jiang Zhi to escape.
