After going through countless storms, successfully destroying the mysterious organization, and gradually getting the family business back on track, Jiang Zhi and Shen Qingchen knew that this peaceful life was hard-won, so they cherished every moment they could be together and managed their family with their heart.
Every weekend, the family would gather in the spacious, bright kitchen. Jiang Zhi wore a light blue apron embroidered with delicate flowers. Her hair was casually tied up, with a few strands falling on her cheeks, adding a touch of gentleness. Shen Qingchen wore a casual white shirt with the sleeves rolled up, revealing his strong arms. He stood beside Jiang Zhi, his eyes full of doting. The children surrounded them like two cheerful little birds. The younger sister, dressed in a pink princess dress, jumped and hummed a tuneless little song; the older brother, dressed in simple sportswear, had a focused look, always ready to help his parents.
"Let's make a sumptuous dinner today." Jiang Zhi announced with a smile, his voice full of anticipation.
"I want to eat sweet and sour pork ribs!" My sister was the first to raise her hand, her eyes shining.
"Then let me help cut the vegetables." My brother also responded positively.
Shen Qingchen gently rubbed the children’s hair and said with a smile: “Okay, then let’s do it together.”
A joyful symphony erupted in the kitchen. Jiang Zhi expertly cleaned the ribs, blanched them in a pot, and then drained them. She poured a suitable amount of oil into the wok, heated it, sautéed the scallions, ginger, and garlic, then added the ribs and stir-fried them. The ribs sizzled in the wok, gradually turning golden and crispy. Jiang Zhi expertly added various seasonings, and the sweet and sour sauce swirled in the wok, emitting an alluring aroma.
Chen Qingchen, on the other hand, instructed his brother in cutting vegetables. He patiently taught him how to hold the knife and cut the vegetables into even pieces. His brother took his instruction seriously, and although his movements were a little clumsy, he carefully applied every cut. His sister watched from the side, occasionally offering a piece of washed fruit to quench the thirst of the busy family.
"Dad, how do you think I cut it?" My brother held up the shredded potatoes in his hand, with a hint of anticipation in his eyes.
"Very good, you can cut it so well for the first time, great." Shen Qingchen praised with a satisfied smile on his face.
With the family's combined efforts, delicious dishes arrived one after another. The sweet and sour spare ribs were bright red and sweet and sour; the stir-fried seasonal vegetables were lush and tender, rich in nutrients; and the delicious fish soup, its milky white broth exuding a rich aroma.
The family sat around the dining table, which was decorated with exquisite tableware and blooming flowers. It was warm and beautiful. Jiang Zhi served the children the meal, and Shen Qingchen pulled out a chair for her.
"Today's dishes look great!" my sister said excitedly, a happy smile on her little face.
"This is the result of everyone's hard work. Come and try it and see how it tastes." Jiang Zhi said with a smile.
Everyone picked up their chopsticks and began to enjoy this delicious dinner. The table was filled with laughter and joy. The children shared interesting stories from school, while Jiang Zhi and Shen Qingchen listened attentively, occasionally interjecting a few words of encouragement.
After dinner, the family would retreat to the living room, furnished with soft sofas and thick carpets. Family photos, each of them smiling brightly, hung on the wall. Chen Qingchen would brew a pot of fragrant tea, pour a cup for Jiang Zhi and herself, then sit on the sofa and gently embrace Jiang Zhi. The children would spread out their chessboards on the carpet and begin a frantic game of Go.
"I want to play Gobang. My brother definitely can't beat me." The younger sister said confidently.
"That's not necessarily true. I've been practicing recently." The brother responded unwillingly.
The brother and sister exchanged blows, neither giving in. Jiang Zhi and Shen Qingchen watched from the side, offering them advice from time to time. Whenever the children made a good move, they would give them warm applause and praise.
"Baby, this is a very smart move you made." Jiang Zhi praised.
"Yeah, very strategic, keep it up." Shen Qingchen also nodded in praise.
In addition to playing chess, they also play some family games together, such as idiom chain, guessing riddles, etc. These games not only enhance the relationship between family members, but also allow children to learn knowledge in a happy way.
On warm afternoons, the family often chose to go out for fun. They would visit a suburban park, home to vast meadows, lush trees, and a clear lake. The children ran and played on the grass, chasing colorful butterflies and flying kites. Jiang Zhi and Shen Qingchen, hand in hand, strolled along the lakeside path, admiring the surrounding beauty.
"Look, the flowers over there are so beautiful." Jiang Zhi pointed to a bunch of wild flowers by the lake and said, his eyes full of surprise.
“Well, just as beautiful as you.” Shen Qingchen looked at her gently and said softly.
They would find a quiet place by the lake to sit, watching the children playing and feeling the breeze. Sometimes, Jiang Zhi would lean on Shen Qingchen's shoulder, close his eyes, and enjoy this moment of tranquility.
"Times like this are so good. I hope it can last forever." Jiang Zhi murmured.
"Yes, our family will always be together." Shen Qingchen held her hand tightly and said firmly.
Every holiday, they travel together. They've visited ancient cities, basking in the rich history; they've visited the seaside, listening to the crashing waves; and they've journeyed to the mountains, experiencing the splendor of nature. During these trips, the children broadened their horizons and gained new insights, while the family created many wonderful memories.
On a trip to the beach, the children were overjoyed to see the ocean for the first time. Their younger sister, in her adorable swimsuit, ran around the beach, building sandcastles with a shovel. Their older brother bravely ventured into the ocean, splashing in the waves. Jiang Zhi and Shen Qingchen watched from their beach chairs, their faces beaming with happiness.
"Mom, come and build a sand castle with me!" my sister shouted.
"Okay, baby." Jiang Zhi stood up and joined her sister.
Shen Qingchen couldn't help but walk into the sea and play in the waves with his son. The family spent a happy and unforgettable holiday at the seaside.
The warm family moments are like a melodious melody playing in the hearts of Jiang Zhi and Shen Qingchen. These ordinary yet precious moments have become the most precious treasure in their lives, allowing them to feel endless happiness and satisfaction.
