After his divorce, Shen Qingchen seemed to be in a desolate darkness. The inner torment was like a surging tide, impacting his reason and emotions wave after wave. The good times he had spent with Jiang Zhi were constantly playing in his mind like a movie. Every scene was like a sharp sword, deeply piercing his heart.
He often wandered alone late at night along the garden paths where they once strolled together, the moonlight casting a shadow on his forlorn figure. The laughter and joy of the past seemed to still echo in his ears, but now he was alone. The surrounding flowers and plants swayed gently in the night breeze, as if they too were sighing for his fate. The house they once lived in was now empty, but every corner lingered with the scent of Jiang Zhi. Shen Qingchen would sit on the sofa in the living room, gazing at the spot where Jiang Zhi once loved to sit, recalling her every smile and frown, his heart filled with regret and longing.
To gain access to Jiang Zhi's current situation, Shen Qingchen mobilized all his connections and intelligence networks. He deployed his most capable and discreet subordinates, stationed in every area where Jiang Zhi might come into contact, to secretly monitor her every move. These subordinates were rigorously trained elites, skilled at concealing their whereabouts. Like ghosts, they lurked around Jiang Zhi's surroundings, carefully gathering any information about her and quickly relaying it to Shen Qingchen.
When Shen Qingchen learned that Jiang Zhi had given birth to a child, he was completely stunned, and the documents in his hand fell to the ground involuntarily. His heart was like a raging storm, with shock, regret, admiration and other complex emotions intertwined. He regretted that he had missed the birth of the child due to various helplessness, and missed the moment when Jiang Zhi needed him the most. He imagined Jiang Zhi facing the difficulties and pain of childbirth alone in that remote town, and his heart felt as if it was being stabbed by thousands of needles. "How could I not be by her side when she was in the most difficult time? What on earth did I do?" Shen Qingchen blamed himself painfully, clutching his hair tightly with both hands, his eyes full of pain and regret.
At the same time, he also felt a surge of admiration for Jiang Zhi. Despite such a difficult situation, she not only bravely faced everything on her own, but even as she neared childbirth, she persisted in investigating the mysterious organization. This tenacity and perseverance made Shen Qingchen feel ashamed of himself. He knew the severity of Jiang Zhi's predicament, and the power and danger of the mysterious organization hung over her life like a thick haze.
Shen Qingchen watched Jiang Zhi and her child flee from the mysterious organization, living a life of terror. She lived in a state of panic, often hastily packing her belongings in her humble home and quietly moving with her young child in the dead of night. Each move was fraught with danger, as the mysterious organization's assassins seemed omnipresent, poised to launch a deadly attack at any moment. Jiang Zhi, burdened with caring for her young child while constantly vigilant to the enemy's movements, wore a look of exhaustion and stress, yet her eyes remained resolute.
Once, Jiang Zhi and her child were spotted at a small town market by spies from a mysterious organization. Suddenly, several assassins, blades in hand and fierce glares in their eyes, swarmed from all directions. Jiang Zhi quickly shielded her child behind her, her eyes free of fear, only calm and resolute. She exploited the chaos of the market crowd to skillfully navigate the market. She led her child between stalls, occasionally knocking over goods to thwart the attackers. Then, taking advantage of the moment when the attackers were trapped by an obstacle, she snatched the child and hid in a narrow alley. With the assassins in hot pursuit, Jiang Zhi twisted and turned, eventually escaping through another exit thanks to her familiarity with the terrain.
Countless times, upon seeing this intelligence, Shen Qingchen had felt the urge to rush out, to stand before Jiang Zhi and the child, to shield them with his own body. However, his mind told him that doing so would only bring Jiang Zhi greater trouble. He knew the cruelty and cunning of the mysterious organization. If he appeared rashly, not only would he be unable to protect Jiang Zhi and her child, but he would also put them in even greater danger. The mysterious organization might very well use him to threaten Jiang Zhi, or set a trap to capture them all.
Shen Qingchen could only suppress his inner urges and quietly provide assistance to Jiang Zhi from behind. He carefully analyzed the potential dangers Jiang Zhi might face and proactively mitigated them. Upon learning that some underlings were secretly stalking Jiang Zhi, seeking an opportunity to attack, he quickly dispatched his men to capture them in a remote suburban area. He personally interrogated them, attempting to extract the latest information about the mysterious organization, but most of these underlings were merely following orders, their knowledge limited. After his interrogation yielded no results, Shen Qingchen decisively disposed of them to prevent them from returning and tipping off the enemy.
When Jiang Zhi was short of supplies, Shen Qingchen would always send necessities anonymously. He would carefully select milk powder, diapers, clothes, etc. suitable for the child, as well as the daily necessities and medicines that Jiang Zhi needed. He would arrange for his men to quietly place these supplies at the door of Jiang Zhi's residence late at night, and then leave quickly to ensure that no one would find out. He knew that Jiang Zhi had a strong sense of self-esteem, and if she knew that these supplies were sent by him, she might refuse to accept them. Therefore, he could only express his concern and support for her in this silent way.
Once, Jiang Zhi and her child fell ill and were extremely weak. Upon learning of this, Shen Qingchen was distraught. He immediately arranged for a skilled and trustworthy doctor to secretly travel to Jiang Zhi's town to treat them. After examining Jiang Zhi and the child, the doctor, following Shen Qingchen's instructions, left sufficient medicine and detailed medical instructions before quietly departing. Shen Qingchen finally felt relieved when he learned that Jiang Zhi and the child's condition was gradually improving.
