Chapter 624 Jiang Zhi's Adjustments and Plans

As the smoke of battle gradually cleared, Jiang Zhi and her allies dragged their exhausted bodies away from the battlefield rife with flames and danger. They were exhausted, both physically and mentally, but their eyes revealed a resolute determination, a resolve never to yield to Jiang Yao and the mysterious organization.

Jiang Zhi held her twin sister, a boy and a girl. The little one slept soundly in her arms, her cheeks flushed, seemingly oblivious to the thrilling experience she had just endured. Her brother clung tightly to Jiang Zhi's clothes. Though young, he could sense the tense atmosphere, his large eyes filled with worry and anxiety. Jiang Zhi gently patted her son's head, offering him a moment of comfort. She then signaled to her allies to follow, as they needed to find a safe place to rest and recuperate.

They arrived at an abandoned factory on the edge of the city. Once prosperous, it was now reduced to shabby ruins and rusted machinery. However, its remoteness and seclusion provided a temporary haven for Jiang Zhi and his companions. Jiang Zhi carefully placed the children in a relatively clean corner, making a simple bed for them out of some old clothes, ensuring they could rest comfortably.

The allies also found places to sit, their faces bearing the fatigue and scars of battle. Some leaned against the wall, closed their eyes, and silently recuperated; others took medicine from their first aid kits and simply treated their wounds. Jiang Zhi took a deep breath. She knew that now was not the time to rest. They had to quickly recover and formulate a plan for the next step.

She walked over to the group of allies and whispered, "Everyone has worked hard, but we can't let our guard down. Although we've achieved a temporary victory in this battle, Jiang Yao and the mysterious organization won't give up. We need to sum up our experience and identify our shortcomings so we can better prepare for the next fight."

The allies nodded in agreement. One of them, Lin Yu, spoke first, "Jiang Zhi, during this battle, I discovered that the mysterious organization's weapons and equipment are very advanced. Their firepower suppression caught us off guard in the early stages. We need to find a way to improve our equipment, otherwise we will be at a disadvantage in subsequent battles."

Jiang Zhi pondered for a moment and replied, "You're right, Lin Yu. I'll find a way to solve this problem. In my previous investigation, I discovered that the mysterious organization has some secret arms trading channels. We can start from this aspect and see if we can cut off their supply and obtain some advanced weapons for ourselves."

Another ally, Su Yao, continued, "Also, their tactical coordination is very tacit. We were surrounded by them several times during the battle. I think we need to strengthen team collaboration training and improve our combat tacit understanding."

Jiang Zhi nodded in approval: "Su Yao's suggestion is very good. Starting tomorrow, we will set aside some time every day for team training. I will rearrange the combat team's arrangement based on everyone's strengths and abilities so that our cooperation will be closer."

After discussing the problems in the battle, Jiang Zhi began to formulate the next counterattack plan. She walked to a dusty blackboard, picked up a piece of chalk, and drew a map of the distribution of the known strongholds of the mysterious organization on the blackboard.

"According to the intelligence we currently have, the mysterious organization has three main bases in the city," Jiang Zhi said, pointing to the markings on the blackboard. "The first base is located in the commercial district in the city center, where there's a lot of traffic. They use various commercial cover stories to conduct illegal activities. The second base is in the southern suburbs of the city, an abandoned research institute. It's speculated that they conduct secret experiments and weapons development there. The third base is in the mountainous area in the northern suburbs. The terrain there is difficult to defend and is likely one of their core bases. Jiang Yao is likely hiding there."

Jiang Zhi paused and continued, "We can't attack all three strongholds simultaneously, as that would disperse our forces. I suggest starting with the stronghold in the commercial district, which is relatively easy to access, and we can use the surrounding environment to conduct covert operations. Our goal is to destroy their illegal trading network there, obtain more intelligence about the mysterious organization, and at the same time, strike at their source of income."

The allies gathered in front of the blackboard, listened carefully to Jiang Zhi's plan, and offered their opinions and suggestions from time to time.

"Jiang Zhi, the commercial district has a complex personnel structure. How can we ensure the secrecy of our actions?" asked an ally named Chen Feng.

Jiang Zhi thought for a moment and replied, "This is indeed a key issue. We can first arrange for some people to conduct preliminary reconnaissance to find out their patrol patterns and trading hours. Then, we will disguise ourselves as ordinary citizens or merchants and enter the commercial district in batches, approaching their strongholds. During the operation, we must try to avoid attracting unnecessary attention and use silenced weapons and small explosive devices to quickly resolve the battle."

Jiang Zhi then detailed the tasks and responsibilities of each ally during the operation. Lin Yu would lead a team to attack head-on, drawing the enemy's attention; Su Yao would lead another team to attack from the flanks, seeking to penetrate the enemy's weak points; and Chen Feng would be responsible for setting up security around the perimeter to prevent reinforcements or escape.

"Is everyone clear about their tasks?" Jiang Zhi asked.

"Understood!" The allies answered in unison, their voices full of fighting spirit.

After formulating an attack plan for the commercial district stronghold, Jiang Zhi turned his attention to the abandoned research institute in the southern suburbs and the mountain stronghold in the northern suburbs.

"We need to be more cautious with the research institute in the southern suburbs. There may be some dangerous experiments and high-tech defense facilities there. Before attacking, we must collect as much intelligence as possible about the internal structure and defense system of the research institute. I will contact some professional technicians to see if they can help us crack the security system of the research institute." Jiang Zhi said.
