Chapter 687 Jiang Yao - Isolation

Under Jiang Zhi's persuasion, the already wavering members of the mysterious organization began to leave the battlefield one after another, like the water at receding tide, rapidly reducing Jiang Yao's forces. The camp that had once seemed indestructible was now like a building with its foundation removed, crumbling.

Jiang Zhi stood in the shadow of an abandoned building, her gaze fixed on the chaotic scene before her with a determined yet calm demeanor. She held a young child in her arms. Perhaps sensing the tense atmosphere, the child clung to her clothes, his face a touch of anxiety. But Jiang Zhi gently patted the child's back, offering silent comfort, her eyes never leaving the gradually disintegrating enemy.

Jiang Yao stood in the center of the battlefield, surrounded by only a handful of her most devoted assassins. Her eyes burned with a mixture of rage and despair. Her once meticulously styled hair now lay disheveled across her shoulders, her clothes matted with sweat and dust. She stared at the retreating figures, shouting at the top of her lungs, "You can't leave! Without me, you can't escape this!" However, all she received in response was a cold, indifferent back and the sound of receding footsteps.

Jiang Zhi took a deep breath. She knew that even though the situation was favorable to her, she couldn't let her guard down. Jiang Yao had gone completely mad, like a trapped beast, ready to unleash unimaginable lethality. She handed the child to a trusted ally, whispered a few words of advice, and slowly walked towards Jiang Yao. Each step was filled with firm determination, the gravel crunching beneath her feet like the prelude to her battle song.

Jiang Yao's expression twisted instantly when she saw Jiang Zhi approaching. She gritted her teeth and said, "Jiang Zhi, do you think you've won? Don't get complacent!" As she spoke, she brandished her weapon and rushed towards Jiang Zhi. The weapon gleamed coldly in the sunlight, carrying a killing aura.

Jiang Zhi leaned slightly to the side, easily dodging Jiang Yao's frantic attack. Her eyes held no fear, only calmness and focus. "Jiang Yao, you've been deserted by everyone. Give up! Stop this pointless struggle." Jiang Zhi offered a final plea. Her voice was steady and powerful, as if it had the power to penetrate people's hearts.

However, Jiang Yao wouldn't listen. She attacked again and again, each move haphazard yet fierce. Jiang Zhi, like a rock in a storm, remained unshaken. She skillfully evaded and parried her attacks, occasionally launching unexpected counterattacks that only infuriated Jiang Yao further.

During the lulls in the fight, Jiang Zhi's gaze swept over the surroundings. They were in an abandoned factory, where rusted machinery and towering chimneys bore witness to this life-or-death struggle. Jiang Zhi pondered how to completely subdue Jiang Yao. She knew that Jiang Yao's madness stemmed from deep within her jealousy and twisted possessiveness, and as long as this obsession persisted, she would not stop fighting.

Jiang Yao's attacks gradually slowed, her strength draining away, but her eyes remained filled with hatred. She began to exploit the surroundings to set small traps, trying to trap Jiang Zhi. She toppled a shelf stacked with debris and hurled it at Jiang Zhi, then deliberately lured her onto a greasy surface, hoping she would slip.

Jiang Zhi saw through Jiang Yao's plot. She jumped and dodged nimbly, avoiding traps while also looking for Jiang Yao's flaws. She found that Jiang Yao's right side was slightly weak when attacking, which might be a hidden danger left by a previous injury.

Jiang Zhi then deliberately lured Jiang Yao to attack her left side, feigning a weakness. Jiang Yao fell for it, desperately lunging towards her left. Just as Jiang Yao's weight shifted, Jiang Zhi quickly swerved and unleashed a fierce side kick to her right. Jiang Yao couldn't dodge and was hit in the waist, falling backwards and landing heavily on the ground.

She struggled to get up, but the excruciating pain in her body prevented her from moving. Jiang Zhi took the opportunity to approach her, looking down at her and saying, "Jiang Yao, it's all over. Your jealousy and hatred will only make you lose more."

Jiang Yao raised her head, glared at Jiang Zhi fiercely, spat out a mouthful of blood, and cursed: "I will not lose to you, never!" Although her voice was full of weakness, her crazy energy did not diminish in the slightest.

At this moment, Jiang Zhi's allies also gathered around, completely encircling Jiang Yao in an impenetrable circle. Jiang Yao looked at the people around her, and a hint of despair finally appeared on her face. She knew she had no way to escape, but the fire of jealousy in her heart still burned fiercely, refusing to be extinguished.

Jiang Zhi spoke again, "Jiang Yao, let go of your hatred. You could have had a different life, but your obsession has led you down this path of no return." Jiang Yao sneered, "That's easy for you to say. How come you have so much while I have nothing?"

Jiang Zhi sighed softly: "Happiness cannot be obtained by jealousy and robbing. You have been living in your own fantasy and refuse to face reality." Jiang Yao was silent. There seemed to be a trace of hesitation in her eyes, but it was quickly covered by hatred.

At that moment, a car roared in the distance. A black sedan sped towards them, and before anyone could react, it stopped beside Jiang Yao. The window rolled down, revealing the face of a mysterious man. He shouted to Jiang Yao, "Follow me, there's still a chance!"

Jiang Yao, as if grasping at a lifeline, used up her last bit of strength to get up and rushed towards the car. Jiang Zhi and her allies tried to stop her, but the car quickly took off, raising a cloud of dust and disappearing from their sight.
