Chapter 738 Family Reunion

Jiang Zhi finally set off on the journey home with the child and Shen Qingchen. Along the way, Shen Qingchen never took his eyes off Jiang Zhi and the child, his eyes filled with guilt, tenderness, and the joy of having lost something and then found it again. Jiang Zhi gently held the child, occasionally looking out the window, her heart a mixture of emotions. The past kept surfacing in her mind, but the warmth of Shen Qingchen and the child beside her made her feel that the happiness of the moment was so real.

The car slowly drove into the familiar courtyard. Before it even stopped, the servants came out to greet them. Their faces were filled with sincere smiles, their eyes sparkling with tears of excitement. They all stepped forward to help with the luggage, muttering non-stop, "Madam, Master, you're finally back! We were so worried!" The children looked around curiously, their small hands tightly grasping the corners of Jiang Zhi's clothes.

Walking into the house, the layout of the house is still as warm as before, and every piece of furniture and every decoration carries the memories of the past. Jiang Zhi took a deep breath, and the familiar smell came to her face. It was the smell of home, the smell of her and Shen Qingchen once lived together, and the place she wanted to return to in countless difficult times. Shen Qingchen gently held Jiang Zhi's hand, took her and the child to the living room, let them sit on the soft sofa, and he was busy instructing the servants to prepare snacks and drinks that the children liked.

Soon, the coffee table in the living room was filled with a variety of delicious food. The children's eyes suddenly lit up, and they rushed to the coffee table with cheers. Shen Qingchen smiled and hugged the children in his arms, picked up a small piece of cake and fed it to their mouths, his eyes full of doting. Jiang Zhi watched this scene, and the sense of happiness in his heart became stronger. His once broken heart seemed to be filled with warm sunshine at this moment, and the pain was gradually healed by the warmth before his eyes.

At this time, Shen Qingchen's parents came down from upstairs. The old couple's faces were full of relieved smiles, and tears flashed in their eyes. Father Shen walked quickly to Jiang Zhi, held her hand tightly, and said in a trembling voice: "Child, you have suffered. It is our Shen family who is sorry for you and made you go through so many hardships." Mother Shen gently wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes, took Jiang Zhi's other hand and said: "It's good that you are back, and our family will never be separated again in the future." Jiang Zhi's eyes were also wet, she nodded slightly, and said softly: "Mom and Dad, it's all over, and it's good that our family is reunited."

The children looked at their grandparents curiously, and Shen Qingchen smiled and introduced the children to their parents. The little ones called "Grandpa and Grandma" obediently, and Shen's father and mother were so happy that they couldn't stop smiling. They quickly took out the red envelopes they had prepared and handed them to the children. The family sat together, laughing and talking continuously, and a warm atmosphere filled the entire living room.

The afternoon sun shone through the window into the courtyard, and Jiang Zhi took the children to the garden to play. The flowers in the garden were vying for beauty and splendor, and the breeze blew, bringing bursts of fragrance. The children chased and played among the flowers, and their laughter echoed in the air. Jiang Zhi sat on a bench nearby, looking at the children's innocent smiling faces, her heart full of tenderness. Shen Qingchen quietly walked behind her, gently hugged her, put his chin on her shoulder, and whispered: "Jiang Zhi, thank you, thank you for giving me such a warm home. I will spend my whole life to make up for the mistakes I made." Jiang Zhi leaned in Shen Qingchen's arms, closed her eyes slightly, and whispered: "As long as you don't leave us in the future, it will be the best compensation for me and the children."

In the evening, the family sat around the dining table and enjoyed a sumptuous dinner. The table was filled with delicious dishes, and every dish was what Jiang Zhi and the children liked. Shen Qingchen kept picking up food for Jiang Zhi and the children, nagging them to eat more. The children ate with relish, and from time to time they told interesting stories about the day in the garden, making everyone laugh. After dinner, the family came to the living room. The children played with toys on the carpet, and Shen Qingchen sat on the sofa with Jiang Zhi, watching the children, occasionally chatting a few words, and sharing each other's feelings.

As night fell, Shen Qingchen picked up the already sleepy children and walked up the stairs with Jiang Zhi back to their old bedroom. Everything in the bedroom had not changed, it was still so familiar and warm. Shen Qingchen gently placed the children on the bed, covered them with the quilt, and kissed their little faces. Jiang Zhi stood aside, watching Shen Qingchen's gentle gesture, her heart filled with emotion.

After the children fell asleep, Shen Qingchen took Jiang Zhi to sit on the small sofa in front of the window. He held Jiang Zhi's hand, looked into her eyes seriously and said, "Jiang Zhi, I know that my decision has caused you a lot of hurt, and I really regret it. During the days when we were apart, I thought about you and the children every day. I blamed myself countless times for letting go of your hand so easily." A tear flashed in Jiang Zhi's eyes, and she whispered, "During that time, I was really in pain. I thought we would never be able to go back. But when I saw that you chose to protect me and the children at the critical moment, I knew that I still had you in my heart." Shen Qingchen hugged Jiang Zhi tightly in his arms, as if he wanted to use all his strength to integrate her into his body. He said, "In the future, I will never let you get hurt again. I will use my life to protect you and the children."

Outside the window, moonlight streamed down the ground, adding a touch of romance to the quiet night. Jiang Zhi leaned against Shen Qingchen's chest, listening to his strong heartbeat, her sense of happiness growing stronger. She knew the days ahead were long, and they would face life's joys and sorrows together, protecting their home and ensuring this happiness would continue.
