Chapter 773 Natural Harmony

At dawn, soft rays of light filtered through thin clouds, cascading down onto the courtyard of Jiang Zhi and Shen Qingchen's residence. The flowers, plants, and trees in the courtyard, bathed in the morning light, seemed draped in a shimmering golden veil. Dewdrops glittered on the leaves, reflecting a myriad of colors. Birds sang joyfully in the branches, welcoming the new day with their clear, melodious voices. Their gentle melodies, like a morning song composed by nature, awakened those still asleep.

Jiang Zhi slowly opened her eyes, and what she saw was such a beautiful scene. The corners of her mouth rose unconsciously, and she gently pushed Shen Qingchen, who was still sleeping beside her, and said softly: "Qingchen, wake up quickly. The weather is so good today. Let's take the children for a walk in the suburbs and let them get close to nature." Shen Qingchen was sleepy, but after hearing Jiang Zhi's words, she woke up instantly, her eyes full of smiles, and nodded in response: "Okay, it's been a long time since we went out, and the children must be very happy."

After a simple breakfast, the family happily prepared to set off. Jiang Zhi carefully put sun hats on the children and packed some water, fruit, and snacks into their backpacks for emergencies. Shen Qingchen went to the garage and drove the car out. The spacious SUV, carrying the family's laughter and joy, sped towards the suburbs.

Along the way, with the car windows open, a gentle breeze blew, bringing the uniquely refreshing scent of the countryside. Children excitedly leaned against the windows, their eyes wide open, curiously observing the scenery along the way. In the fields beside the road, golden rapeseed blossoms stretched one after another, like a golden ocean. The breeze blew, waves of blossoms billowing in the air, their rich fragrance invigorating the heart. Occasionally, a few old oxen could be seen grazing leisurely in the fields, with children herding them sitting nearby, whistling discordantly, looking contented and relaxed.

"Mom, look at those flowers, they are so beautiful!" The younger sister blinked her bright eyes and pointed at the rape flowers outside the window, her childish voice full of joy. Jiang Zhi smiled and touched her head, saying gently: "These are rape flowers. After spring, they will produce rapeseeds, which are used to extract oil. That's how the delicious rapeseed oil we eat is made." The younger sister nodded, not quite understanding, but her eyes were full of love for these flowers.

Soon, the car arrived at a forested area on the outskirts of the city. Here, shaded by verdant trees, a small mountain stream gurgled through the water. The water was so clear that you could see small fish and shrimp swimming happily at the bottom. Jiang Zhi and Shen Qingchen, holding the children's hands, strolled along the path through the forest. The rustling of fallen leaves beneath their feet seemed to tell a story of nature.

"Dad, I want to go fishing in the creek." The older brother looked at Shen Qingchen expectantly. Shen Qingchen smiled and agreed, "Okay, but be careful not to fall." He led the children to the creek, rolled up his trouser legs, and stepped into the water. The water was cool, barely above their ankles, bringing a refreshing sensation. The children screamed with excitement, their eyes fixed on the fish in the water, cautiously reaching out to catch them. But the fish were very clever, and every time the children were about to touch them, they quickly swam away, causing the children to laugh again.

Jiang Zhi stood by the stream, watching this heartwarming scene, her heart filled with happiness. She squatted down, picked up a fallen leaf, and examined it carefully. The leaf was oval, with a slightly jagged edge, and a yellow-green hue. Its veins were clearly visible, like a piece of art meticulously crafted by nature. "Children, did you know? Leaves are like the lungs of trees. They absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen, allowing us to breathe fresh air," Jiang Zhi explained.

After hearing this, the children picked up the leaves and observed them curiously. The older brother even blew air at the leaves seriously and said, "Then I will blow carbon dioxide into it to make it produce more oxygen." This made everyone laugh.

Tired of playing, the family spread out their picnic blanket on the grass by the stream and laid out the food they had brought. Sunlight filtered through the leaves, casting patches of light onto them. Everyone gathered together, sharing their meal and savoring this moment of peace and warmth. A gentle breeze carried the scent of flowers and grass, mingling with the aroma of the food, an intoxicating experience.

After lunch, Jiang Zhi suggested a walk through the forest to see if they could spot some interesting plants and animals. The children immediately perked up and skipped after their parents. As they walked along the winding path, Jiang Zhi frequently pointed out plants along the way and explained their names and characteristics.

"This is a dandelion. Look, its seeds are furry. When the wind blows, they float away like little parachutes, seeking new places to grow." Jiang Zhi gently plucked a dandelion and blew on it, sending white seeds scattering in a flurry. The children excitedly chased after the seeds, their laughter echoing through the forest.

As they walked, they spotted a little squirrel. The little squirrel, furry and with a long tail, crouched in a tree, clutching a pine cone and watching them warily. The younger sister approached cautiously and whispered, "Don't be afraid, little squirrel. We won't hurt you." The squirrel seemed to understand, blinking its eyes and returning to munching on the pine cone. The children smiled happily at the sight and stood quietly, watching the squirrel eat, afraid to disturb it.

However, while enjoying the beauty of nature, Jiang Zhi and Shen Qingchen also noticed some discordant phenomena. Occasionally, discarded plastic bottles and packaging bags can be seen in the mountains and forests, which are incompatible with this beautiful natural environment. Jiang Zhi frowned slightly, her heart full of worry. She said to Shen Qingchen: "If this garbage increases, it will cause great harm to the animals and plants here. We have to think of a way." Shen Qingchen nodded in agreement, with a glint of determination in his eyes: "It's time to do something. We can't let this beautiful forest be destroyed."
