Chapter 787: Intertwined Clues

Inside the secluded mountain estate, the atmosphere was heavy and oppressive. Jiang Zhi stared intently at the cluttered yet cryptic documents on her desk, her gaze so focused that it seemed as if everything around her had ceased to exist, only the words and data on the pages gripping her. A child sat in a corner, fiddling with an old handkerchief, occasionally glancing up at the busy adults, her eyes filled with confusion and unease, her hands unconsciously clutching the handkerchief, as if she, too, sensed the tense atmosphere.

Lin Yue and several other allies gathered around Jiang Zhi, their gazes following her movements. Jiang Zhi's slender fingers rummaged through the documents, comparing them. Her hair was a bit disheveled from her frantic movements, but she didn't bother to notice. Suddenly, her movements froze, as if struck by an electric current, her entire body tensed. Her gaze was fixed on a yellowed document, its edges slightly curled. The dense handwriting on it seemed to transform into dancing spirits, revealing a shocking secret.

"Look, the funds flow mentioned in this document," Jiang Zhi's voice trembled slightly, breaking the silence with uncontrollable excitement. She picked up the document, tapping the key points. "It's very similar to the unidentified funds transfer path I discovered just before the Tang family's incident. It likely points to the same mastermind." Everyone was stunned at first, then, like a powder keg, they exploded in an instant.

Lin Yue quickly reached out and took the document, his brow furrowed as he scanned the contents of the paper with a fierce gaze. His eyes revealed the calmness and wisdom gained from years of experience, but at this moment, he could not hide the shock. "If this is true, the forces behind this are so deep and have been planning for so long that it is far beyond our imagination." He muttered to himself, his voice low but resonating in the room like a bell. Others also came closer, craning their necks, eagerly trying to get a clear idea from those few lines of text. Someone couldn't help but gasp and muttered softly, "How many secrets does this mysterious organization hide that it can control so many things in secret."

Jiang Zhi nodded slightly, taking a deep breath and trying to calm her inner turmoil. Past memories of her investigation into the Tang family flashed through her mind like a slideshow. It was a time filled with hardship and pain, a time of scrambling, searching for every clue, searching for the truth behind the downfall of Tang Junxi's family. Now, this newly discovered clue was like a key, unlocking the long-sealed door to the truth. Though not yet fully opened, it already offered a glimmer of hope.

"Back then, to investigate the Tang family, I searched nearly every possible location." Jiang Zhi gazed into the distance, lost in memories. "The transfer of that unidentified money was incredibly strange, the amount enormous yet incredibly hidden. I tracked it for a long time, only to find the trail abruptly cut off amidst a tangle of overseas accounts. Unexpectedly, I'd see a similar method here today." Her gaze grew more determined, as if she had finally seen a glimmer of light after groping in the darkness for so long. At this moment, she knew every clue was a step toward truth and revenge, and she couldn't let it go.

The child nearby seemed to sense the mother's emotional fluctuations and babbled. Jiang Zhi quickly stood up, walked quickly to the child, squatted down, and gently held the child in her arms. She gently stroked the child's head and coaxed him softly, "Don't be afraid, baby, mommy is here." The child blinked his big, watery eyes, and his tiny hands tightly grasped the corner of Jiang Zhi's clothes, as if seeking comfort. Jiang Zhi looked at the child's innocent face, and tenderness and determination mixed in her heart. She secretly vowed to provide a safe sky for the child, away from the disputes and dangers of the world.

Returning to the table, Jiang Zhi relocated the child to a corner and immersed herself in the research. Lin Yue looked at her, his eyes full of admiration. "Miss Jiang, you've endured so much alone over the years. It's truly not easy. Now that we have this clue, we can't let our guard down. In my opinion, we need to follow the flow of funds and dig deeper to see if we can uncover the specific manipulators behind the scenes." Jiang Zhi nodded slightly and replied, "Senior Lin, what you said is absolutely right. I was thinking the same thing. This mysterious organization acts cautiously and will probably not leave too many loopholes, but if they make a move, they will inevitably reveal their true colors."

Everyone began to redistribute their efforts. Some contacted their financial contacts, attempting to tease out a clearer clue from the complex web of funds, while others continued to research other materials, searching for supporting evidence. Jiang Zhi picked up a pen and quickly scribbled her thoughts and analysis on a piece of paper, her brow furrowed and then relaxed. She knew full well that this battle against the mysterious organization was a war without the smoke of gunpowder, where every detail depended on life and death.

As the investigation deepened, new suspicions surfaced. Jiang Zhi discovered that the similar flows of funds all seemed to involve emerging technology industries. These industries had mushroomed over the past few years, but behind them was the shadow of a mysterious organization's manipulation. "Have you noticed? These tech companies that have received so much funding may seem unrelated, but in fact, they have subtle synergies in technology development and market layout," Jiang Zhi said, pointing to several company names on the file. "I suspect that the mysterious organization wants to achieve its ulterior motives by controlling these cutting-edge technologies. Whether it's economic monopoly or military threats, we must guard against them."

Everyone nodded in agreement. Lin Yue pondered for a moment, then said, "In that case, we must also pay attention to the core R&D projects of these technology companies to see if we can find a breakthrough. Furthermore, I'm worried that the mysterious organization might have used these technologies to set up traps or surveillance systems without our knowledge." Jiang Zhi's eyes narrowed, realizing the seriousness of the situation. "Senior Lin is right. We must proceed with caution. From now on, all communications equipment must be encrypted, and our actions must be more covert."
