On a perfectly sunny day, the warm golden sun gently shone across every corner of the city. Jiang Zhi and Shen Qingchen, hand in hand, strolled through the streets with their adorable children. A gentle breeze, carrying the fragrance of flowers and plants, ruffled their hair, as if softly composing a song for this heartwarming scene.
The streets and alleys were bustling with activity. Children's laughter echoed from time to time, like a string of lively notes dancing in the air filled with the aroma of everyday life. A little girl, with two playful pigtails, skipped ahead, her eyes sparkling with curiosity about everything around her. She would stop and squat by the roadside, staring at the colorful wildflowers with wonder in her eyes. Her little hands couldn't help but gently touch the petals, but she was afraid to hurt them.
The son followed his sister. Though still young, he already had the demeanor of a grown-up, his eyes gleaming with intelligence and composure. He held his sister's hand tightly, and whenever she excitedly ran a few steps too far, he would frown slightly, quickly catch up, and pull her back to his side, muttering, "Sister, don't walk too fast, or you might fall." Jiang Zhi and Shen Qingchen saw his earnest concern and felt a warm touch of joy in their hearts.
Jiang Zhi and Shen Qingchen followed the children, their eyes filled with doting. Jiang Zhi's face remained as beautiful as ever, though the years had tempered her with a certain firmness and composure. She wore a simple yet elegant white dress, its hem swaying gently in the breeze, like a lily blooming in the mortal world. The sunlight cast a faint glow on her face, softening her features.
Shen Qingchen stood tall and straight, his casual suit making him look even more majestic. His eyes followed Jiang Zhi and the children, a happy smile on his lips. Occasionally, he would gently raise his hand to smooth Jiang Zhi's wind-blown hair, and their eyes met, filled with deep affection and love.
As they walked, they came upon a bustling market. The stalls were overflowing with a dazzling array of fresh fruits and vegetables, handicrafts, and local snacks. The children were immediately captivated. The youngest daughter, holding her brother's hand, happily weaved through the crowd, her eyes fixed on the scene.
"Mom, I want to eat that sweet candied haws!" The little daughter pointed to a stall selling candied haws not far away and looked at Jiang Zhi eagerly, her little face flushed and full of desire.
Jiang Zhi smiled and nodded. Just as she was about to step over, Shen Qingchen got there first and said gently, "I'll go buy some. You wait here." A moment later, he came back with two strings of candied haws, one for his daughter and one for his son. Seeing the children eating the candied haws contentedly, with their mouths stained with candy, he and Jiang Zhi smiled at each other, their eyes full of happiness.
Continuing on, Jiang Zhi noticed a bookstore on the street. She gently tugged on Shen Qingchen's hand and said, "Let's go in and take a look." Shen Qingchen naturally nodded in agreement. Entering the bookstore, a faint scent of books filled the air. The shelves were filled with a wide variety of books, covering ancient and modern times, both Chinese and foreign. Jiang Zhi's fingers gently brushed the spines of the books, her eyes filled with nostalgia. She recalled the days when she had delved into research day and night in pursuit of the truth and revenge. Books had become her most stable companions. Now, surrounded by this ocean of books again, she felt a surge of emotion.
Shen Qingchen seemed to see what she was thinking. He gently hugged her from behind and whispered, "It's all in the past. In the days to come, we can enjoy this tranquility to our heart's content." Jiang Zhi nodded slightly, leaning in his arms, her heart full of warmth.
At this time, the son came over with a thick encyclopedia, his little face full of seriousness: "Mom and Dad, I want this book, can I?" Jiang Zhi took the book, flipped through it, his eyes full of surprise: "Baby has good taste, this book is very good, of course you can buy it." Shen Qingchen smiled and touched his son's head, and took them to the checkout counter.
After leaving the bookstore, the family wandered into a small park. The park was shaded by green trees, vibrant flowers, and a clear lake where ducks leisurely swam. The children excitedly ran over, perched on the lakeside railing, and watched the ducks frolic, their laughter bubbling.
Jiang Zhi and Shen Qingchen sat down on a bench nearby, their hands still tightly held. Jiang Zhi raised her head slightly, gazing at the jewel-blue sky, and whispered, "Qingchen, do you remember when we first met? Back then, I was filled with hatred, feeling that my world was dark. I couldn't imagine ever having the happiness I have today."
Shen Qingchen held her hand tightly, looking into the distance with deep eyes: "How could I not remember? At that time, although you were full of pain, you were still so strong that it made people feel distressed. The first time I saw you, I knew that you were different. I thought in my heart that I must pull you out of that dark abyss and let you feel the sunshine again."
Jiang Zhi turned her head and looked at him, tears glistening in her eyes. "Thank you, Qingchen. If it weren't for you, I really don't know if I could have made it to the end. During those days when I was hunted by the mysterious organization, every time I felt that I was about to give up, but when I thought of you and our possible future, I found strength again."
Shen Qingchen gently wiped the tears from her eyes and said softly: "No, it was your own strength and courage that saved yourself and saved all of us. For Tang Junxi and my father, you pursued the truth at all costs. I have always seen this persistence. Now, we have finally left all the suffering behind and ushered in the happiness that belongs to us."
Their eyes turned to the children. At that moment, the son was squatting on the ground, carefully observing a small insect, and whispering something to his sister. The sister seemed to understand, but she kept nodding with admiration.
