Chapter 824 Jiang Zhi's Adventure

The nightfall of the city hung heavy like a vast sheet of black silk, completely obscuring the hustle and bustle of the day. Jiang Zhi, clad in a black bodysuit, moved with the agility of a night spirit, weaving through the shadows between the tall buildings. Her goal was to infiltrate a secret meeting of a mysterious organization, where crucial information might be hidden, allowing them to completely capture their enemies.

Jiang Zhi arrived at the outskirts of an abandoned factory. Its walls were covered in mottled rust, like hideous scars left by time. Several windows had broken glass, wailing in the night wind, like the abandoned building's cries of unwillingness to be forgotten. Two burly guards stood at the door, their eyes grim as they glanced vigilantly around, their gripped guns glinting coldly in the moonlight.

Jiang Zhi took a deep breath, her eyes narrowed slightly as she quickly recalled the codewords and hand gestures she had gathered about the mysterious organization. Then, she adjusted her expression, imbuing herself with the arrogance and coldness characteristic of a member of this mysterious organization. She slowly emerged from the shadows and approached the guards, raising her hand and casually making a specific gesture. She whispered, "A dark moon rises in the sky, the stars dim." This was the temporary codeword she had gathered for entering the venue today.

The guard's eyes instantly sharpened like an eagle, staring intently at Jiang Zhi, his gun raised slightly. Jiang Zhi's heart suddenly tightened, but his face remained calm, and he met the guard's gaze without flinching. After a moment's stalemate, one of the guards nodded slightly, replied with a coded message, and stepped aside to make way. Jiang Zhi breathed a sigh of relief and walked steadily into the factory.

The factory was filled with a pungent, decaying smell, a nauseating blend of engine oil and rust. The dim lights overhead flickered, as if ready to go out at any moment, plunging the place into complete darkness. Jiang Zhi carefully avoided the scattered debris on the floor and walked deeper into the factory building, where the voices were coming from.

Turning a corner, the view suddenly opened up, revealing a spacious space. A group of people sat around a large, shabby conference table, each with a stern or cunning expression. Jiang Zhi studied them calmly, searching for a suitable spot to blend in. She spotted an empty seat in the corner. Next to it was a thin, sinister-looking man, who looked high-ranking and could easily be used to gather information.

Jiang Zhi pretended to be nonchalant as she walked over, gently pulling out a chair and sitting down. The man glanced at her, a hint of doubt in his eyes. Jiang Zhi curled her lips slightly and whispered, "My superiors sent me here on short notice. I have some news to convey." She spoke deliberately vaguely, yet with an unquestionable tone. The man frowned, but ultimately did not ask any further questions.

The meeting quickly began. A hoarse, deep voice echoed from the front: "The organization's actions have suffered repeated setbacks recently. I believe there must be a traitor who leaked the information. We have gathered everyone here today to discuss our next steps. We must make up for our losses and completely eliminate those obstacles."

Jiang Zhi's heart moved, and she quietly reached into her pocket and pressed the switch of a miniature recording device. She knew that every sentence that followed might be the key.

Someone continued, "I heard that it was Jiang Zhi who was behind this. She and Shen Qingchen have teamed up and have already found many of our bases."

"Hmph, she's just a woman. How much trouble can she cause? She's just relying on a little cleverness." Another person snorted disdainfully.

"Don't underestimate the enemy," the hoarse voice from before sounded again, "Jiang Zhi is no ordinary person. Not only is she a highly skilled doctor, she's also quite skilled in martial arts. Moreover, there seems to be some unknown force supporting her. We must be careful in our response."

Jiang Zhi sneered inwardly at their comments. She lowered her head slightly, seemingly listening intently to the meeting, but in reality, her peripheral vision was constantly monitoring the movements of those around her, just in case anyone suddenly became suspicious of her.

At this time, an old man sitting in the main seat slowly spoke: "On the full moon night three days later, we will have a major operation. By then, a batch of newly developed weapons will be put into use, and the goal is..." The old man's voice suddenly lowered, and Jiang Zhi felt anxious. She leaned forward slightly, wanting to hear more clearly.

Suddenly, the thin man next to him turned his head abruptly, and his eyes stabbed at Jiang Zhi like knives: "You seem to be listening very carefully?" Jiang Zhi was shocked, but a smile instantly appeared on her face: "This is a serious matter, so of course I have to listen carefully. Isn't it the same for you, brother?" She tried to calm the other party with words.

The man snorted coldly, stood up, pointed at Jiang Zhi and shouted, "I think something is wrong with you. Who are you?" This shout instantly attracted everyone's attention. For a moment, more than a dozen eyes were directed at Jiang Zhi, and the atmosphere in the conference room instantly became tense.

Jiang Zhi knew she was exposed. She leaped from her chair, a dagger in her hand, and rushed toward the door. Chaos erupted in the meeting room, and everyone drew their pistols and shot at Jiang Zhi. Bullets whizzed past Jiang Zhi, and she nimbly dodged left and right, using tables and chairs as cover as she inched closer to the door.

In the fierce exchange of gunfire, Jiang Zhi seized an opening and hurled his dagger at a chandelier. With a crash, the chandelier shattered, sending shards of glass raining down like raindrops, plunging the room into darkness. Taking advantage of the darkness, Jiang Zhi quickened his pace and rushed to the door.

However, just as she reached the door, two guards rushed in. Jiang Zhi didn't have time to think. She dodged a punch from one of them and kicked the other's wrist, knocking the gun out of his hand. Then, she elbowed the first guard hard in the temple, knocking him unconscious. Seeing this, the other guard rushed over like crazy. Jiang Zhi nimbly maneuvered with him. After a few moves, she found the perfect moment and threw him to the ground with an over-the-shoulder throw.
