In the quaint and solemn courtyard of the family mansion, Jiang Zhi and Shen Qingchen stood side by side. The autumn breeze gently blew past, ruffling their hair, but it couldn't dispel the solemn and expectant atmosphere. Before them was a carefully tended flowerbed. The colorful flowers swayed gently in the wind, as if whispering about the family's past glory and hardships.
Jiang Zhi leaned forward slightly, and gently picked up a handful of fertile soil with her bare hands. The soil was black, shiny, and moist, exuding the unique rustic scent of the earth. Her eyes sparkled with a glittering light, just like the brightest stars in the night sky. She whispered softly: "Qingchen, look at this soil. It may seem ordinary, but it contains endless vitality. As long as we sow the seeds of hope in it and water it carefully, in time, it will bloom into a flourishing scene." Shen Qingchen stood aside, his posture as straight as a pine tree, his sword-like eyebrows and starry eyes full of approval and determination. He nodded slightly, gazing deeply at the land that carries the future of the family, and said in a deep voice: "Zhi'er, you are absolutely right. This family is like this flower garden. Although the wind and rain in the past have made it a little barren, now it is time to let hope take root and sprout."
With that, Jiang Zhi pulled an exquisite cloth bag from a nearby brocade box. Inside were those incredibly precious "seeds of hope." These seeds were meticulously selected by the two of them. Some were from rare flowers and trees passed down through generations of family tradition, symbolizing their commitment to tradition and its preservation; others were rare species sourced from distant lands, symbolizing their determination to forge ahead and learn from others. Each seed carried their vision for the family's future.
Jiang Zhi took the lead, her delicate feet tapping the ground lightly, as if afraid to disturb the tranquility of the land. She crouched down, her slender fingers gently digging small holes in the soil, her movements gentle and reverent. Then, she carefully placed the seeds in the holes and gently covered them with soil, as if tucking in the corners of a sleeping baby. Seeing this, Chen Qingchen hurried forward and took the canteen from Jiang Zhi. It was filled with morning dew, pure and full of vitality. He poured slowly, and the crystal drops of water, like fine raindrops, evenly fell on each sown site, nourishing those dormant hopes.
"Qingchen, what do you think these seeds will grow into?" Jiang Zhi stood up, patting the dirt off his hands, his eyes filled with longing and curiosity. Shen Qingchen's lips curled up into a confident and warm smile. He put his arm around Jiang Zhi's shoulders and whispered, "I believe they will thrive and bloom into magnificent flowers. Just like our children, nurtured by the family, they will blossom with their own light and become the pride of the family." Jiang Zhi's eyes were filled with tenderness as he mentioned his children. Their son, from a young age, had shown exceptional intelligence and courage. He took a keen interest in family affairs and often followed the elders, absorbing knowledge and experience like a sponge. Their daughter, on the other hand, was kind-hearted and innocent. Her smile seemed to dispel any gloom in the world. She always helped others to the best of her ability, infecting everyone around her with her warmth.
"Yes, our children are our greatest hope." Jiang Zhi tilted her head slightly, leaning on Shen Qingchen's shoulder, her thoughts drifting away. She recalled the fiery light in her son's eyes when he first asked to participate in the family business discussion, a sense of responsibility and desire for the family's future; and the way her daughter secretly used her own pocket money to support a poor child's education, and later told her about it with a shy yet proud face. Her kind heart made Jiang Zhi deeply comforted. "We must create the best conditions for them and let the family spirit continue in them." Shen Qingchen tightened her arm around Jiang Zhi, her tone firm and powerful.
At this moment, brisk footsteps echoed from the courtyard corridor. Jiang Zhi and Shen Qingchen looked back and saw their son and daughter, hand in hand, bounding towards them. The son was dressed in a moon-white brocade robe with a blue ribbon tied around his waist, which made him look tall and slender, and his bearing was even more impressive. The daughter wore a pink silk dress with delicate floral embroidery on the hem. The bow on her head swayed gently with her movements, like an elf that had fallen into the mortal world.
"Father, mother, what are you doing?" The daughter spoke first, her voice as clear as a bell. She ran to Jiang Zhi and looked at the newly turned soil on the ground curiously. Jiang Zhi smiled and squatted down, holding his daughter in his arms, and said gently: "Baby, we are sowing the seeds of hope and praying for the future of the family." The son frowned slightly, but his eyes were full of inquiry. He walked to Shen Qingchen and asked: "Father, what is the seed of hope? Can this small seed really change the fate of the family?" Shen Qingchen stroked his son's head, his eyes full of expectation. He patiently explained: "My child, each of these seeds represents the direction and strength of the family's progress. They carry our beliefs, efforts and dreams. As long as we take good care of them, they will grow into towering trees and bless the family's prosperity. Just like you, you have been influenced by the family since childhood, learning knowledge and cultivating moral character. In the future, you will become the pillars of the family and lead the family to a more glorious future."
The son nodded thoughtfully, his gaze becoming more resolute. He squatted down and, imitating Jiang Zhi's behavior, gently stroked the sown soil, as if making a silent oath with the seeds. The daughter blinked her big eyes and pulled out a small sachet from her bosom, which contained dried flower petals she had collected every day. She buried the sachet in the soil solemnly and said in a childish voice, "I hope my little flowers can also bring good luck to the seeds and help them grow quickly." Jiang Zhi and Shen Qingchen looked at each other, their eyes full of smiles and touching. This innocent act made them see the light of hope for the future of their family shining brightly.
