Chapter 9 An unexpected discovery

Jiang Zhi had been running around the city for days, exhausted physically and mentally searching for clues to Tang Junxi's murder. However, the fire in her heart had never been extinguished, and she knew she couldn't stop to avenge Tang Junxi.

That day, Jiang Zhi, as usual, wandered the neighborhood where Tang Junxi had lived, asking for news. The sun shone on the ancient cobblestone streets, but it couldn't warm Jiang Zhi's weary heart. She walked from shop to shop, asking anyone who might know Tang Junxi, but the answers she received were always disappointing.

Just when Jiang Zhi was feeling a little down, she happened to pass by an old bookstore. The door was half-open, and a faint aroma of books and ink wafted from inside. For some reason, Jiang Zhi's steps involuntarily drew her towards the bookstore.

She gently pushed the door open, and the doorbell chimed. A tranquil atmosphere permeated the bookstore, its old shelves filled with a variety of books. A gray-haired man sat behind the counter, wearing a pair of reading glasses and concentrating on a book.

Jiang Zhi looked around, feeling an inexplicable sense of familiarity. She walked to a bookshelf and gently brushed her fingers across the covers of the books. Just then, a yellowed diary caught her attention.

The diary cover was a bit worn, and the writing was blurry. Jiang Zhi picked it up curiously and opened the first page. The date on it was from a long time ago, and it seemed to record the details of someone's life.

Jiang Zhi was casually flipping through the diary when suddenly a line of words caught her eye: "Meeting a mysterious person, destiny changed forever." Jiang Zhi's heartbeat suddenly quickened. She continued to read and found that the owner of the diary met a mysterious person one day. The appearance of this person brought about tremendous changes in the owner's life.

Jiang Zhi immediately realized that this diary might be related to Tang Junxi's murder. She couldn't wait to continue reading, hoping to find more clues.

The diary describes the mysterious man: tall, dressed in a black robe, with a deep, mysterious gaze. The diary owner spoke to him for a few minutes, and although their specific conversation is unknown, the diary owner's tone suggests awe for him.

Jiang Zhi carefully analyzed every detail in the diary, trying to identify the mysterious man. Suddenly, she remembered that Tang Junxi had also come into contact with a mysterious man before being murdered. Could this mysterious man be the same person Tang Junxi had met?

Jiang Zhi decided to find the owner of the diary and ask him more about the mysterious man. She walked to the counter with the diary and asked softly, "Excuse me, do you know who the owner of this diary is?"

The old man looked up at the diary and frowned slightly. "I don't know who owns this diary. I found it when I was sorting out old books," the old man said.

Jiang Zhi felt disappointed, but she didn't give up. "Have you noticed anything special about this diary? Or has anyone asked about it?" Jiang Zhi continued.

The old man pondered for a moment, then shook his head. "Nothing special about it. No one has ever asked about this diary," he replied.

Jiang Zhi sighed helplessly. She knew she couldn't just give up. She decided to take the diary with her, as it might be useful in future investigations.

Jiang Zhi thanked the old man and left the bookstore. She walked down the bustling street, her mind filled with questions. Who was this mysterious man? And what was his connection to Tang Junxi's murder? Jiang Zhi decided to follow up on the clues in the diary.

She first came to the place mentioned in the diary where she had met the mysterious man. It was a remote alley with mottled marks on the walls. Jiang Zhi stood at the entrance of the alley, carefully observing the surrounding environment.

The alley was filled with a stale atmosphere. Sunlight shone through the narrow cracks, creating patches of light on the ground. Jiang Zhi walked into the alley, his steps slow and gentle, afraid to miss any clues.

She walked down the alley for a while and noticed some strange symbols on the wall. They looked like some kind of ancient writing, but Jiang Zhi didn't recognize them. She took out her phone and took a picture of the symbols, planning to find someone to help decipher them when she got home.

Continuing forward, Jiang Zhi found an abandoned warehouse. The door was closed, with a rusty lock on it. Jiang Zhi pushed the door, and it made a dull sound, but did not open.

Jiang Zhi's heart moved. She felt that this warehouse might be related to the mysterious man. She looked around for a way to open the warehouse door and finally found a worn shovel next to the warehouse.

Jiang Zhi picked up a shovel and smashed the lock of the warehouse hard. After several attempts, the lock was finally broken open. Jiang Zhi pushed open the door and a stale smell hit him in the face.

The warehouse was filled with debris and dust. Jiang Zhi walked in cautiously, using the light of her phone to illuminate her surroundings. She searched for clues in the warehouse and finally found a worn notebook in a corner.

The notebook was covered in dust. Jiang Zhi blew away the dust and opened the first page. There were some strange words and patterns written on it, which looked like some kind of code.

Jiang Zhi carefully studied the contents of the notebook, trying to decipher the code. After some effort, she finally discovered some patterns. The words and patterns seemed to describe a place, a place that hid a huge secret.

Jiang Zhi decided to follow the clues in her notebook to find the place. She left the warehouse and continued to travel through the city. She walked through one street after another, asking everyone who might know the clues.
