The first rays of morning sunlight, filtering through the thin clouds, fell upon the city streets and alleys, draping the bustling metropolis in a golden veil. Jiang Zhi rose early and stood by the window, quietly gazing at the familiar yet unfamiliar scenery outside, a wave of emotion welling up in her heart. Today, she and Shen Qingchen had made an appointment to revisit their old haunts. The roads they had walked and the sights they had seen, like treasures sealed by time, were about to be rediscovered.
Shen Qingchen walked gently behind her, put his arm around her waist, rested his chin on her shoulder, and said softly, "What are you thinking about? Why are you so absorbed?" Jiang Zhi leaned slightly to the side and rested her head on his chest, a faint smile on the corner of her mouth: "Nothing, I just remembered some things in the past. I didn't expect time to pass so quickly." Shen Qingchen tightened his arms and kissed her forehead: "Yes, but fortunately we have always been together. Today, let's go and get those memories back."
After a quick breakfast, the two of them set out hand in hand. Along the way, Jiang Zhi felt a mixture of excitement and trepidation, memories of the past flooding back like a tide. The streetside shops were still overflowing with goods, and the bustling crowds seemed to echo the same sounds of years ago. They walked through one familiar street after another, each step akin to treading on the strings of time, playing a melodious melody.
Unconsciously, they arrived at the park where they first met. The gate of the park is still simple and solemn, and the stone lions at the gate are quietly watching the changes of time. Jiang Zhi's steps stopped involuntarily. She looked up at Shen Qingchen, her eyes gleaming: "Do you still remember? We first met here." Shen Qingchen smiled and nodded, his eyes full of affection: "Of course I remember. That day you hurriedly walked past me and almost bumped into me. Before I could react, you had already walked away, leaving behind only a back that made my heart beat." Jiang Zhi's cheeks flushed slightly, and she scolded: "How can it be as exaggerated as you said? I was in a hurry to do my business at that time, so I didn't care about the road."
Hand in hand, they walked into the park, following the winding path. The trees and flowers along the path grew ever more lush and green. The bench where they had once sat together was still there, its paint a little tarnished, as if telling the story of time. Jiang Zhi gently approached, reaching out to touch the bench's armrest, his thoughts drifting back to that afternoon.
That day, Jiang Zhi was searching the park for clues to Tang Junxi's murder. Tired from walking, she sat down on this bench to rest. Lost in thought, Shen Qingchen happened to pass by, captivated by her focused yet slightly melancholic expression. He paused, watching her quietly from a distance. Noticing someone watching her, Jiang Zhi looked up, their gaze meeting Shen Qingchen's. In that moment, time seemed to stand still, their eyes fixed on each other. Shen Qingchen was the first to break the silence, stepping forward and politely asking, "Hello, you look troubled. Do you need any help?" Jiang Zhi paused, then shook her head. "Thank you, I'm fine." Despite the words, Shen Qingchen could see a hint of dejection in her eyes. From then on, Shen Qingchen began to appear around Jiang Zhi, intentionally or unintentionally, and their interactions gradually grew.
Shen Qingchen sat down next to Jiang Zhi and held her hand tightly: "What do you remember? Is it the scene of our first meeting?" Jiang Zhi nodded gently: "Well, at that time, my heart was full of hatred. I never thought that I would meet you here, let alone we would have these stories later." Shen Qingchen gently stroked her hand: "Fate is so wonderful. It made us meet and let us go through so many ups and downs together."
The two sat on the bench for a while, then stood up and continued walking. They came to the lake in the park. The water was crystal clear, reflecting the blue sky, white clouds, and the green trees and red flowers on the shore. Occasionally, a few ducks swam across the lake, causing ripples. Jiang Zhi squatted down, reached out to touch the lake water, and the coolness was refreshing. She remembered that once, in order to avoid being hunted by a mysterious organization, she ran to the park in a panic. At that time, she was exhausted physically and mentally, and almost fell into despair. Just as she was sitting helplessly by the lake, Shen Qingchen appeared like a god-sent soldier from heaven, protecting her tightly behind him. Facing the enemy's threat, Shen Qingchen was not afraid, and confronted them with a firm look in his eyes until he repelled the enemy.
Jiang Zhi stood up, turned around and looked at Shen Qingchen: "Do you remember that time by the lake? If you hadn't shown up in time, I really don't know what to do." Shen Qingchen walked up and hugged her in his arms: "Silly girl, I said I will always be by your side to protect you. No matter what danger you encounter, I will not let you get hurt." Jiang Zhi's eyes were slightly red, and her heart was full of emotion.
They strolled along the lake, enjoying this moment of tranquility and warmth. The weeping willows by the lake swayed, their slender branches dancing in the wind, as if it were the most beautiful dance presented by nature for them. As they walked, Jiang Zhi suddenly stopped and pointed to a pavilion in front of them and said, "Let's go sit there for a while." Shen Qingchen nodded in agreement, and the two walked into the pavilion hand in hand.
The pillars of the pavilion were engraved with traces of time, and the paint had peeled off in some places. Jiang Zhi sat down on the stone bench, looked up at the top of the pavilion, and his thoughts returned to another unforgettable moment. It was a rainy night, and Jiang Zhi was searching around in the park in the rain in order to find an important piece of evidence. The rain soaked her clothes, and she was cold, hungry, and extremely weak. Just when she was about to faint, she found this pavilion. She walked into the pavilion with difficulty and curled up in the corner. After an unknown amount of time, Shen Qingchen found her. Seeing Jiang Zhi's embarrassed appearance, he felt distressed. Without saying a word, he took off his coat, wrapped it tightly around her, and then held her in his arms, warming her with his body temperature.
