Early in the morning, the faint light of dawn filtered through the carved window lattices, like a fine golden veil, gently filtering into the spacious and bright study of the Shen family estate. A faint scent of books permeated the air. Antique bookshelves lined the walls, filled with a wide variety of books, from yellowed ancient tomes to the latest business journals. In the center of the room stood a heavy, rustic desk, its top crafted from precious mahogany, its texture distinct and sturdy. Jiang Zhi and Shen Qingchen sat at the desk, absorbed in reviewing the recent financial statements for the family business.
Jiang Zhi wore a simple white shirt and slim-fitting black trousers that highlighted her straight legs. Her long, dark hair was casually tied back, with a few strands falling on her cheeks, adding a touch of gentleness. Her slender fingers gently slid across the report, her eyes focused and sharp, and she occasionally wrote down key information in her notebook. Shen Qingchen, dressed in a straight, dark suit, stood tall, like a pine tree. His brows knitted slightly, his deep eyes fixed on the data on the report, pondering the future development direction of the family business. The two of them exuded a mature and steady aura, as if the entire study was infected by their concentration. The silence was so quiet that only the rustling of papers and the occasional whispered exchange could be heard.
Just then, the study door was gently pushed open with a subtle creaking sound. The twins, a boy and a girl, walked in with brisk steps, like two cheerful little deer. The son, wearing a dark blue sweatshirt, casual jeans, and a pair of white sneakers, looked full of energy. His hair was a little messy, but it didn't detract from his handsomeness. On his childish face, his bright eyes revealed a maturity and determination that belied his age, their gaze gleaming with curiosity and a desire to explore the unknown. The daughter, wearing a pink dress embroidered with delicate flowers, swayed gently as she walked, like a blooming flower. Her fair face was rosy like a ripe apple, her big, watery eyes blinked playfully, and her long eyelashes were like butterfly wings, making her look soft and adorable.
"Mom and Dad, we want to contribute to the family, too," the son spoke first, his clear voice breaking the silence of the study. He took a step forward, standing in front of the desk, his back straight, his hands clasped tightly together, his tone firm and unquestionable. Jiang Zhi and Shen Qingchen looked up at the same time, their eyes meeting and smiling, their eyes filled with relief. They knew that their children, though still young, had been nurtured by the family atmosphere since childhood, showing extraordinary intelligence and a keen interest in family affairs.
"Well, the company has recently encountered some resistance in the promotion of new energy projects. You should first look into the relevant information and see if you can find a solution." Shen Qingchen said gently, his voice low and magnetic. He leaned forward slightly, with an encouraging smile on his face, and looked at his children with gentle eyes. When the daughter heard this, her eyes suddenly lit up, and she jumped up excitedly, waving her hands in the air, and shouted: "Okay, okay, we will definitely find a way!" The son nodded vigorously, his eyes revealing a spirit of not giving up, and said: "Dad, don't worry, we won't let you down."
With that, the children turned and rushed to the study's document area. It was located in a corner, with several tall bookshelves filled with documents, reports, and research materials. The son stood before the bookshelves, his head tilted upward, his gaze rapidly scanning the rows of books, searching for information related to new energy projects. His fingers gently traced the spines, muttering softly, "New energy projects, new energy projects..." Finally, he found a thick document titled "Feasibility Study Report on Shen Group's New Energy Project." He excitedly pulled it out and cradled it in his arms. The daughter, busy at another bookshelf, stood on tiptoe, straining to reach a document placed high up. Her face flushed from the effort, and she kept muttering, "Oh, why is it so high?" Seeing this, the son hurried over and helped her retrieve the document.
The two of them carried the materials and came to the conference table in the study, and placed the materials neatly on the desktop. They sat down face to face, and the son opened the feasibility study report and read it carefully. His brows were sometimes furrowed, sometimes relaxed, and when he encountered something he didn't understand, he would make a mark next to it with a pencil. The daughter opened a book on the analysis of the new energy market, her eyes wide open, carefully looking at the charts and text on it. She pointed at the chart from time to time and said to her son: "Brother, look at this, it says here that the demand for the new energy market is growing." The son leaned over to take a look, nodded, and said: "Well, but our company's promotion has encountered resistance, there must be something wrong."
All morning, the only sounds in the study were the rustling of flipping papers and the whispers of their children. Sometimes they would excitedly communicate because they had discovered an important piece of information, and sometimes they would argue fiercely because of their different views on a certain issue. The son was quick-witted and logical, and he could always quickly grasp the key points from complex materials; the daughter was meticulous and observant, and she could often find some details that her son had overlooked. Jiang Zhi and Shen Qingchen were handling official business on the side, and occasionally looked up at their children, their hearts full of anticipation. When they saw their son's focused thinking, they seemed to see themselves in their youth, full of passion and pursuit for their careers; when they saw their daughter's expression as she carefully studied the materials, they couldn't help but feel proud of her carefulness and hard work. They hope that their children can train themselves in practice and lay a solid foundation for the future of the family.
