Chapter 948 Troubles in Children's Growth

After a busy day, Jiang Zhi and Shen Qingchen returned home, exhausted. Jiang Zhi gently rubbed his temples, trying to dispel the fatigue brought on by work, while Shen Qingchen silently unbuttoned the collar of his shirt and breathed a sigh of relief. However, before they could recover, a low sob reached their ears.

The two exchanged a glance, their eyes filled with worry, and hurried toward the living room, following the sound. They found their daughter's tiny body huddled in a corner of the sofa, her shoulders trembling slightly as tears streamed down her pink skirt like beads from a broken string. Their son sat next to his sister, his brow furrowed in displeasure, his hands clenched into fists, as if he was suppressing his inner grievance.

"Baby, what's wrong?" Jiang Zhi was heartbroken. He rushed forward and gently held his daughter in his arms, his voice full of anxiety and concern. His daughter sobbed even harder, her small body trembling in Jiang Zhi's arms. After a long while, she choked out and said, "Today, there was an activity at school, and my classmates all laughed at me, saying that my family was too rich and that I was different from them."

Jiang Zhi's heart tightened. He patted his daughter's back gently, trying to comfort her. "My dear daughter, ignore them. It's not a bad thing that our family is rich." But his daughter cried even harder, her little hands tightly clutching the corner of Jiang Zhi's clothes. "But they said I was the child of a nouveau riche, that I only relied on my family and didn't know how to do anything else. And they didn't want to play with me."

Shen Qingchen also squatted down beside her, gently stroking her daughter's hair, her eyes full of love: "Baby, don't listen to their nonsense. Our family's wealth is the result of the hard work of several generations of our family. We are not some nouveau riche. And you are so kind and cute, with so many advantages. It's their loss if they don't play with you."

At this time, the son couldn't help but speak, muttering angrily: "I helped the teacher solve a difficult math problem at school. I thought my classmates would admire me, but they thought I was showing off and didn't want to play with me anymore." The son's eyes were red, and his face was full of loss and unwillingness.

Jiang Zhi and Shen Qingchen exchanged a look of frustration. They knew their children, due to their family's unique status, would inevitably face such challenges as they grew up. In the eyes of the outside world, the Shen family was incredibly wealthy, with a multi-faceted business empire and every move closely watched. Living in such a family environment, their children were inevitably treated differently.

Shen Qingchen looked at his son gently and said earnestly: "Son, you are excellent, there is no doubt about that. Helping the teacher solve difficult problems shows that you study hard and have a smart mind. This is something to be proud of. Don't deny yourself because of other people's wrong opinions. True friends will appreciate your strengths and will be happy for your progress, not jealous of you."

Jiang Zhize gently held her daughter's face, wiped the tears from her cheeks with her thumb, and said softly, "Baby, wealth is only a part of our lives; it doesn't define who you are. Like other children, you have a pure and kind heart. You love to play, learn, and are curious about the world. You must believe that as long as you treat others with sincerity, you will always make many good friends. Maybe some of your classmates don't understand you now, but in the future they will understand what a wonderful girl you are."

In order to make her children feel better, Jiang Zhi suggested making their favorite chocolate cake together. The daughter raised her head slightly, a glimmer of anticipation flashed in her eyes, and the son nodded gently. The family came to the kitchen. Jiang Zhi tied an apron and began to prepare the ingredients skillfully. Shen Qingchen helped on the side, and the children also gathered around to help pass things.

In the warm atmosphere, the daughter's emotions gradually calmed down. She looked at her busy parents and whispered, "Mom and Dad, I won't care so much about what my classmates say in the future. I will try my best to let them see my good side." Jiang Zhi smiled and kissed her daughter's forehead: "That's right, my baby is the best."

The son also recovered some spirits. While helping to stir the egg liquid, he said, "I also know what to do. Next time I will be more low-key. If there are still classmates who don't understand, then I will find friends who really understand me." Shen Qingchen patted his son's shoulder with relief: "Well done, son, this is the mentality of a man."

After the cake was ready, the family gathered around the dining table, savoring the delicious treat, laughter and joy filling the room. Jiang Zhi and Shen Qingchen were delighted to see their children gradually becoming more cheerful. However, they also knew this was just a minor episode in their growth journey, and their children might face more similar challenges in the future.

At night, Jiang Zhi went to her children's room to tell them a bedtime story. She sat by the bed, her children leaning on either side, their eyes filled with dependence. Jiang Zhi softly told a story about friendship and courage: In a distant forest, there lived a little rabbit. Because its fur was whiter and shinier than the other rabbits, it was always ostracized by its companions. Undeterred, the little rabbit used its kindness and courage to help the forest animals solve many problems. Gradually, the other animals, impressed by the little rabbit's kindness, became its friends.

After finishing the story, Jiang Zhi looked at her children and said gently, "My dears, just like the little rabbit in the story, you may encounter people who don't understand you, but as long as you remain kind and brave, you will always gain true friendship." The daughter blinked her eyes and nodded thoughtfully, "Mom, I understand. I want to be like the little rabbit." The son also said firmly, "Me too. I am not afraid of difficulties. I will prove myself."
