On a weekend morning, before the city had fully awakened from its slumber, Jiang Zhi and Shen Qingchen got up early. They tacitly chose a set of casual and comfortable clothes. Jiang Zhi wore a beige knitted dress. The simple style brought out her gentle temperament. A light blue belt gently cinched her waist, outlining her slender waist. Shen Qingchen wore a light gray cotton shirt and dark blue jeans. He looked refreshing and handsome. He wore a pair of white sneakers on his feet, and the whole person looked young and energetic.
The two of them left their home, where a black limousine was already waiting in front of the villa. The driver respectfully opened the door for them, and Jiang Zhi and Shen Qingchen climbed into the back seat hand in hand. The car slowly started, steadily driving out of the villa area and heading towards the suburbs. Outside the car window, the cityscape flashed by like a slideshow, the skyscrapers gradually giving way to lush green fields and rolling hills. Jiang Zhi leaned on Shen Qingchen's shoulder, closing her eyes slightly, but her thoughts involuntarily drifted back to many years ago.
Back then, she was consumed by the shadow of revenge, like a lone wolf licking its wounds, her heart and eyes filled with the single obsession of seeking justice for Tang Junxi. And Shen Qingchen, like a ray of light, unexpectedly stumbled into her dark world. Their first encounter was in the park that would soon bear countless memories. Jiang Zhi sat on a bench in a corner of the park, her brow furrowed, her eyes revealing a deep sadness and resoluteness. The surrounding clamor seemed to disregard her, lost in her own tormented thoughts, repeatedly sorting through every detail of her relationship with Tang Junxi, trying to find a clue that would begin her path to revenge.
Shen Qingchen happened to be passing by at that moment. Distracted by the trivialities of business, he had come to the park to relax, but he caught a glimpse of Jiang Zhi in the crowd. Her unique tenacity drew him in like a magnet. Though Jiang Zhi's face was haggard and her expression mournful, Shen Qingchen saw the stubbornness and strength hidden deep within her eyes. At that moment, his heart inexplicably skipped a beat, and as if by magic, he mustered his courage and walked towards this strange yet alluring woman.
"Hello, I see that you seem to be in a bad mood. Did you encounter any troubles?" Shen Qingchen tried his best to make his voice sound gentle and concerned, trying to break the cold barrier around Jiang Zhi.
Jiang Zhi raised her head slightly, a hint of surprise flashing in her eyes. She didn't expect someone to disturb her at this time. What came into view was Shen Qingchen's handsome face with a sincere smile. His deep eyes seemed to hide endless tenderness. Under his high nose bridge, the corners of his mouth were slightly raised, revealing a row of white and neat teeth. But Jiang Zhi didn't care about these at the moment. She just glanced at Shen Qingchen lightly and said in a cold tone: "It has nothing to do with you."
Shen Qingchen didn't flinch because of Jiang Zhi's indifference. Instead, she piqued his curiosity. He sat down in the empty seat next to Jiang Zhi and said to himself, "Sometimes, talking about your worries can make you feel better. I'm not in a good mood today, so let's talk to each other. Maybe we can help each other."
Jiang Zhi frowned impatiently. She just wanted to be alone and think about her revenge plan. This man who suddenly appeared made her a little annoyed. "I said, it's none of your business." She stood up and prepared to leave.
Seeing this, Shen Qingchen also hurriedly stood up and followed Jiang Zhi, "Don't be angry, I don't mean anything else, I just see you here alone, I'm a little worried." There was a hint of anxiety in his tone, and his footsteps followed Jiang Zhi's steps closely.
Jiang Zhi stopped, turned around and glared at Shen Qingchen fiercely, "Why are you so difficult?" However, Shen Qingchen seemed not to see her glare, and still stood there with a smile, his eyes full of persistence.
From that moment on, Shen Qingchen began his passionate pursuit. He was like a shadow in Jiang Zhi's life; wherever Jiang Zhi went, she could occasionally catch a glimpse of him. He sent flowers, every day having someone carefully select a bouquet of vibrant roses or Jiang Zhi's favorite daisies and send them to her home or workplace. He wrote love letters, using his elegant handwriting to pour out his deepest admiration, admiration, and heartache for Jiang Zhi. The letters might be long or short, but every word was filled with his sincerity. He created romantic encounters. Knowing that Jiang Zhi loved going to the library, he would often wait there in advance, pretending to meet her by chance, and then they would discuss the knowledge in the books together, sharing their insights.
Initially, Jiang Zhi turned a blind eye to Shen Qingchen's pursuit. Only the flame of revenge burned fiercely in her heart, leaving no room for any other emotions. But Shen Qingchen was like a spring rain, gentle and silent, his sincerity and persistence like a warm spring breeze, gradually blowing into Jiang Zhi's heart. Jiang Zhi began to waver. She felt Shen Qingchen's sincerity, and the tender feelings she had deliberately buried deep in her heart also showed signs of resurgence. However, whenever she thought of Tang Junxi's tragic death, the pain in her heart and the determination for revenge would surge like a tide, drowning the budding love again and making her afraid to accept this relationship easily.
The bumps of the car pulled Jiang Zhi back to reality from her memories. She opened her eyes slightly and found that the car had slowly driven into the parking lot of the park. Jiang Zhi took a deep breath and sorted out her emotions. Shen Qingchen gently held her hand and whispered, "We're here, let's go."
Hand in hand, they exited the car and entered the park. The morning air was exceptionally fresh, filled with the fragrance of earth and flowers. Sunlight filtered through the leaves, casting a fine, shimmering light and shadow across the ground, as if covering the entire park with a golden carpet. They strolled along the familiar, winding path. The cobblestones beneath their feet, though slightly uneven, held the memories of their past.
