As the first rays of morning light gently shone upon the soaring eaves and brackets of the Jiang family's old residence, this mansion, bearing the family's centuries of glory and vicissitudes, gradually awakened from its slumber. The vermilion lacquered gate of the old house slowly opened, as if opening its arms to welcome a grand reunion. In front of the gate, large red lanterns hung high, and vibrant red silk fluttered gently in the breeze, as if telling stories of the past and celebrating the present's event.
Jiang Zhi and Shen Qingchen rose at dawn and dressed meticulously. Jiang Zhi wore a gorgeous gold velvet cheongsam, its slim fit framing her graceful figure. Embroidered with intricate peony patterns, it symbolized the family's prosperity. The gold thread gleamed in the morning light, evoking the resilience and brilliance she had endured. Her long, dark hair was tied into an exquisite bun, adorned with an heirloom jade hairpin, accentuating her gentle features. Her eyes shone with the composure and composure of someone who had weathered many storms. Shen Qingchen wore a custom-made Chinese-style tuxedo. The deep black brocade was embroidered with intricate cloud patterns in silver thread, highlighting his calm and composed demeanor. The jade pendant at his waist was warm and transparent, a token of family heritage, its every texture engraved with the hopes and instructions of his ancestors.
The two stood at the door of the old house, smiling, their eyes full of anticipation. Jiang Zhi gently held Shen Qingchen's arm, and from time to time he stood on tiptoe, looking into the distance, hoping that his relatives would appear soon. Shen Qingchen leaned slightly to the side, lowered his head and whispered a few words in Jiang Zhi's ear, causing her to smile softly. The warm scene was like a beautiful painting, the years were quiet and good, and the present world was stable.
Soon, dust rose on the road in the distance, and the first car slowly drove over. As soon as the car stopped, the door was eagerly opened, and a white-haired but vigorous old man leaned on a cane and took trembling steps. Jiang Zhi recognized at a glance that this was the oldest uncle in the family. His eyes instantly moistened, and he and Shen Qingchen hurried forward to greet him. "Uncle, you have worked hard on the way!" Jiang Zhi's voice was slightly choked, and he reached out to support the old man. The uncle's wrinkled hand tightly grasped Jiang Zhi's, patted it gently, and his eyes were kind: "My child, seeing that the family is so prosperous now, it is worth it no matter how tired I am." Shen Qingchen greeted respectfully on the side, then took the cane from the uncle's hand, and helped him walk slowly towards the old house.
Soon after, car after car arrived, and the old house suddenly became bustling with activity. Children jumped from the cars, laughing and playing, the younger generation exchanged pleasantries, and the elders, with smiles on their faces, gave instructions to the younger generations. Reunions of long-lost relatives, sometimes with a tight hug, sometimes with tears of excitement, the mingling of laughter and joy, dispelled the gloom of the past and brought the old house back to life.
As everyone entered the courtyard of the old house, they found it already newly decorated. A spacious stage stood in the center, its vermilion pillars entwined with colorful ribbons. On either side of the stage hung enormous banners reading, "Family Glory Together, Create a Brilliant Chapter." Neatly arranged beneath the stage were rows of tables and chairs, laden with exquisite refreshments, fresh fruit, and auspicious pastries, each imbued with the beautiful hope of family reunion. Along the surrounding corridors, old family photos, ranging from faded black-and-whites to vibrantly colored recents, chronicled the family's arduous journey from turbulent beginnings to its glorious rise.
The celebration officially began with the sound of passionate gongs and drums. Jiang Zhi and Shen Qingchen walked onto the stage hand in hand. The audience instantly quieted down, and everyone's eyes were focused on them. Jiang Zhi stood tall, holding a microphone, and her crisp voice echoed over the courtyard: "Dear family members, we are gathered here today to celebrate another family reunion. Looking back, our ancestors relied on fearless courage and tenacious perseverance to carve out a place for themselves in troubled times and founded the Jiang family. Every step they took was filled with blood and sweat. It was they who carried the future of the family on their backs." Her eyes swept over every relative in the audience, and tears flashed in her eyes, which was a deep respect for her ancestors.
Shen Qingchen took over the conversation with a firm look in his eyes: "Nowadays, with the changing times, the family is facing new opportunities and challenges. But we have always stayed true to our original aspirations and moved forward hand in hand. In the confrontation with the mysterious organization, we did not retreat; in the turbulent business world, we forged ahead. All of this stems from the cohesion of the family and the dedication of every relative." There was a burst of warm applause from the audience, which was an affirmation of the past years of struggle and also a confidence and expectation for the future.
The celebration then transitioned into a look back at the family's history. A meticulously crafted video played slowly on the large screen, depicting the family's humble beginnings in a workshop, where ancestors toiled day and night, to the war-torn years, when the family's business nearly collapsed but persevered, and then to peacetime, when the family adapted to the times, branching out into various fields and gradually growing stronger. Each frame touched the hearts of the audience. The older generation recalled the hardships of the past, their eyes filled with emotion, while the younger generation watched with passion, their blood boiling, and a sense of respect for the family.
After the video ended, a highly respected elder slowly walked onto the stage. He held a thick family album in his hands. The cover was rusty and worn, yet it held the family's most precious memories. Gently flipping open the album, he pointed to a faded photo and said, "This is the first-generation head of our family. In those days of scarcity, he started from scratch and, with an unyielding spirit, founded our Jiang family's first store. To stock up, he often left home before dawn, walking dozens of miles across the mountains, sleeping in the open air..." The audience listened in silence, as if transported through time and space, witnessing firsthand the struggles of their ancestors.
