Jiang Zhi, battered and bruised after escaping the pursuit of assassins from a mysterious organization, struggled through the dim alley, her exhausted body bracing itself. With every step, her wounds pierced her, but she couldn't stop, knowing that if she did, she would fall back into the clutches of the mysterious organization.
Jiang Zhi's consciousness gradually faded, and she felt her strength rapidly draining away. Just as she was about to collapse, a faint light appeared in front of her. As if grasping at a lifeline, she walked towards the light. As the distance closed, she saw a simple hut, and the light was emanating from there.
Jiang Zhi used up her last bit of strength and knocked on the door of the hut. The door slowly opened, and a white-haired old man appeared before her. Seeing Jiang Zhi covered in blood, the old man's eyes flashed with surprise and pity. Without hesitation, he immediately helped Jiang Zhi into the house.
The old man laid Jiang Zhi on a simple bed and quickly brought some herbs and clean cloths. He gently tended to Jiang Zhi's wounds, his movements skillful and gentle. Jiang Zhi watched the old man busy at work, her heart filled with gratitude. She wanted to say something, but she was too weak to speak.
The old man seemed to see what Jiang Zhi was thinking. He smiled and said, "Child, don't talk and have a good rest. You are very weak now and need to heal your injuries well." Jiang Zhi nodded, closed his eyes, and fell into a coma.
While unconscious, Jiang Zhi had a long dream. She dreamed of Tang Junxi, his smile still warm, his eyes still gentle. They strolled together in a beautiful garden, enjoying a peaceful moment. However, the dream was soon shattered when assassins from the mysterious organization reappeared, pouncing on Jiang Zhi and Tang Junxi. Jiang Zhi wanted to protect Tang Junxi, but she was powerless. She could only watch Tang Junxi being taken away by the assassins, while she herself fell into endless despair.
When Jiang Zhi woke up again, it was already the next morning. The sun shone through the window onto her face, making her feel a little warm. She opened her eyes and saw the old man sitting by the bed, looking at her with concern. The old man smiled with relief when he saw Jiang Zhi wake up.
"Child, you finally woke up. How do you feel?" asked the old man.
Jiang Zhi wanted to sit up, but the pain from the wounds on her body made her frown. The old man quickly supported her and let her lean on the pillow.
"Thank you, grandpa. If it weren't for you, I might have died." Jiang Zhi said gratefully.
The old man shook his head and said, "This is fate. I don't think you are a bad person, and you are so badly injured, I can't just stand by and watch you die."
Jiang Zhi told the old man about her experience, including why she organized the hunt and her determination to find clues to Tang Junxi's murder. After listening to Jiang Zhi's story, the old man's eyes flashed with admiration.
"Child, you are very brave. However, this mysterious organization is very powerful, and it is difficult for you to fight them alone." The old man said worriedly.
Jiang Zhi said firmly: "I know the mysterious organization is very powerful, but I can't give up. Tang Junxi is the most important person to me, and I must avenge him."
The old man was silent for a moment, then said, "Alright, kid. Since you've made up your mind, I won't try to persuade you any further. But be careful, the people from the mysterious organization won't let you off easily."
Under the old man's meticulous care, Jiang Zhi's injuries gradually improved. She began to help him with things she could do, such as cleaning the room and cooking. As she spent time with him, Jiang Zhi felt a long-lost warmth and tranquility. She discovered that despite his simple lifestyle, the old man possessed a kind and strong heart.
One day, while helping an old man tidy his room, Jiang Zhi stumbled upon an old diary. Curious, she opened it, revealing some of the old man's experiences from his youth. It turned out the old man had once been a brave man, having fought in a war in his youth, risking everything to defend his country and his people. However, after the war, he chose to live a quiet life in seclusion in this remote area.
Jiang Zhi was deeply moved by the old man's story. She realized that everyone has their own story and mission, and her mission is to avenge Tang Junxi and uncover the mysterious organization. She decided to learn from the old man and stay strong and brave no matter what difficulties and challenges she encounters.
As time went by, Jiang Zhi's injuries had basically healed. She knew that she could not stay here any longer. She had to continue to search for the secret base of the mysterious organization and avenge Tang Junxi. Before leaving, Jiang Zhi expressed her gratitude to the old man.
"Grandpa, thank you for your care during this time. If I have the chance, I will definitely come back to repay you." Jiang Zhi said.
The old man smiled and said, "You're welcome, child. You must take good care of yourself and be careful. I believe you will succeed."
Jiang Zhi nodded, then turned and left the hut. She looked back at the old man, her heart filled with reluctance. She knew that this might be the last time she would see the old man, but she would always remember the old man's kindness.
After leaving the cabin, Jiang Zhi began to inquire about the mysterious organization's secret base. She knew this base might be the key to uncovering the truth about Tang Junxi's death. However, the mysterious organization's base was very hidden, and few knew its exact location. Jiang Zhi encountered many obstacles, but she did not give up. She believed that as long as she persisted, she would find the clues.
