Chapter 997: Inheritance and Expectations

Morning light filtered through the carved window lattices, trickling into the spacious and elegant study of the Jiang family estate. Inside, the rustic bookshelves were filled with a variety of classics, historical texts, medical manuals, and works on business strategies. The air was filled with the faint fragrance of books and the scent of time. Jiang Zhi and Shen Qingchen, dressed in simple yet dignified attire, sat at their desks. Their faces wore the composure of a lifetime, yet the glint of anticipation flickered in their eyes.

Soon, brisk footsteps approached from afar, and the younger generations of the family filed in. The children's ages varied widely. The younger ones, no more than seven or eight, were filled with innocence and curiosity, like nimble deer entering a forest of knowledge. The older teenagers, standing tall and steady, showed a hint of longing for the future and a sense of responsibility. They sat quietly around the desk, their eyes cast towards Jiang Zhi and Shen Qingchen, expressing both respect for their elders and a passionate desire for the journey of knowledge inheritance that was about to begin.

Jiang Zhi gently raised her hand and picked up the ancient medical tome with a slightly yellowed cover that lay on the corner of her desk. The paper was slightly rough, yet it exuded a sense of history, as if every page carried the wisdom and compassion of the Jiang family's ancestors who had dedicated themselves to the world. Her fingers gently brushed across the cover, her eyes revealing deep attachment and respect. Then, she gently opened her lips and said softly, "Children, this is the crystallization of the wisdom passed down by our Jiang family over hundreds of years. It is not just a medical book, but also a legacy of responsibility."

The children's eyes followed Jiang Zhi's movements closely, their curiosity growing stronger. Jiang Zhi flipped open the book, and the text inside was written in either tiny regular script or ancient seal script. For young children, reading was quite difficult, but they still tried hard to open their eyes wide, trying to grasp the deep meaning behind each character.

"In the years to come, our Jiang ancestors, relying on the medical skills contained in this book, have saved countless lives during epidemics and protected civilians during wars. Every herb used, every ailment diagnosed and treated, embodies our ancestors' dedication and respect for life." Jiang Zhi's voice was gentle yet resolute, flowing like a trickle of water into the children's hearts. She pointed to a section in the book about difficult and complicated diseases and explained in detail how our ancestors, under difficult conditions, repeatedly researched and experimented to ultimately find a cure. The children listened with rapt attention, occasionally letting out soft exclamations, as if they had traveled through time and space to witness firsthand the magnificent scenes of their ancestors saving lives and healing the wounded.

Shen Qingchen sat aside, quietly watching Jiang Zhi teach medical skills, his eyes full of love and support. After Jiang Zhi paused, he leaned forward slightly, took over the conversation, and glanced at the younger generation, saying calmly: "Medical skills can save people from illness, but the business world is like a battlefield, which also requires wisdom and strategy, and even more so, integrity."

As he spoke, Shen Qingchen pulled a thick business notebook from his bookshelf. It contained the summaries of his years of experience in the business world. The pages were densely packed with case studies, negotiation techniques, and insights into market trends. He flipped to a page that recorded a fierce business battle between the Shen Group and its competitors.

"Children, look here. That time we faced malicious suppression from our competitors and seemed to be in a desperate situation. But we did not panic. Through in-depth analysis of our competitors' weaknesses and accurate grasp of market demand, we found another way and launched an innovative product, turning the situation around in one fell swoop." Shen Qingchen's voice was low and magnetic. When he talked about the ups and downs of the mall, his eyes revealed a sharp light, making the children feel as if they were there, feeling the tension and excitement of the mall competition.

"However, success in the business world is not solely based on strategy. Integrity is the foundation of our existence." Shen Qingchen changed the subject, his expression becoming serious. "Once integrity is lost, even if you gain temporary benefits, you will eventually lose your partners and the market. Just like another case recorded in this notebook, a company cheated on product quality for short-term profits. Initially, they did make high profits, but consumers soon saw through them, and their brand reputation plummeted, eventually leading to bankruptcy."

The children listened intently, nodding their heads occasionally. They knew their elders' words were valuable advice, lessons learned like a beacon on a voyage, guiding their future paths. The twin brother and sister were particularly focused. The brother's eyes were deep as he jot down key points in a small notebook he carried with him, while the sister blinked her eyes, still somewhat confused, but striving to memorize every word.

During the explanation, children occasionally raised their hands to ask questions. One little boy timidly asked, "Aunt Jiang, many of the herbs in this medical book are so hard to find. What if there's an emergency and we don't have time to find them all?" Jiang Zhi looked at him with a smile and patiently explained, "This requires us to be familiar with the characteristics and distribution of common herbs on a daily basis, and also to master some emergency alternatives. For example, when a main herb is scarce, we can combine herbs with similar effects based on the symptoms. Of course, this requires a solid foundation in medical skills and rich practical experience, so you must study hard and accumulate more."

The younger sister also raised her hand in a baby voice: "Uncle Shen, if you encounter a bad guy in the business world who cheats you, how would you know?" Shen Qingchen couldn't help laughing and gently touched her head: "My dear child, this requires us to observe more and understand more. Before cooperating, conduct a comprehensive investigation of the other party's background and reputation. When signing a contract, carefully read every clause and don't miss any possible traps. Once you find something suspicious, don't believe it easily, no matter how tempting the other party is. "
