Tieguanyin

Chapter 7: Tieguanyin

It was a sunny Saturday morning.

Gu Yanchen appeared at the door of "Evening Fragrance Tea House" on time. He changed into a more casual light gray sweatshirt and jeans. He looked several years younger, less fierce in the business world and more sunny and handsome.

"Miss Shen, are you ready?" He asked with a smile, holding a beautifully wrapped small gift box in his hand, "A little gift, I hope you like it."

Shen Qingci took the gift box and opened it. Inside was a simple and elegant light blue silk scarf with a soft texture and smooth touch.

"Thank you, Mr. Gu, it's so precious." Shen Qingci felt a little embarrassed.

"It's just a token of my appreciation." Gu Yanchen looked at her. "It suits you very well."

Shen Qingci's cheeks turned slightly red and she said softly, "Thank you."

The two of them got in the car and drove towards the tea plantation in the suburbs. On the way, they chatted happily, from the types of tea to their respective interests and hobbies, and the atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant.

The tea garden is located in a valley, surrounded by green mountains and fresh air. The tea party was held in a pavilion in the center of the tea garden. Inside the pavilion were several square tables with various tea sets and tea leaves prepared on them.

There were many people attending the tea party, most of them were well-dressed men and women. They gathered in groups of three or four, drinking tea and chatting.

When Gu Yanchen's friends saw him, they immediately came over enthusiastically: "Yanchen, you're finally here! Is this the Miss Chen you mentioned? She's truly outstanding."

"Let me introduce you, this is my friend, Lin Hao." Gu Yanchen introduced Shen Qingci, and then said to Lin Hao, "This is Shen Qingci, the owner of 'Wanxiang Tea House'."

"Hello, Miss Chen." Lin Hao greeted with a smile, "I've heard Yan Chen mention you a long time ago. He said that you are not only beautiful, but also very good at tea making."

Shen Qingci smiled a little embarrassedly: "Mr. Lin, thank you for the compliment."

After the tea party officially began, everyone took turns brewing their own tea and sharing their tea tasting experiences. Shen Qingci brought her own collection of Biluochun tea. Her skillful and elegant brewing technique resulted in a clear and bright tea soup with a fresh and elegant aroma, which won unanimous praise from everyone.

When it was Gu Yanchen's turn, he took out a box of exquisitely packaged Tieguanyin.

"This is the premium Tieguanyin that I asked my friend to bring from Anxi, Fujian. Everyone, try it." Gu Yanchen said with a smile.

He expertly warmed the cup, placed the tea leaves, rinsed them, and brewed them, his movements smooth and flowing. The Tieguanyin's aroma was rich and lingering, with a unique "Guanyin rhyme." The tea was rich, sweet, and refreshing, with a distinct aftertaste.

"Great tea! The aroma and taste of this Tieguanyin are fantastic!" an old professor in the tea industry exclaimed. "Xiao Gu, your taste for tea is getting better and better."

"I learned all of this from you." Gu Yanchen said modestly.

Shen Qingci also tasted it and found it was indeed as good as its reputation. She looked at Gu Yanchen with eyes full of admiration.

Halfway through the tea party, everyone suggested playing a game called blind tea tasting. This involves shuffling several different types of tea and asking everyone to identify the type and origin of the tea by smelling and tasting it.

Shen Qingci was a little nervous at first, but with Gu Yanchen's encouragement, he still participated.

After several rounds, Shen Qingci, relying on the knowledge he had learned during this period and his keen senses, actually guessed most of the teas correctly, performing very well.

"Miss Shen, you're amazing!" Lin Hao said admiringly, "I guessed several wrong."

Gu Yanchen looked at Shen Qingci, his eyes filled with pride and admiration: "I knew you could do it."

Shen Qingci felt sweet in her heart. She could feel that Gu Yanchen had been silently supporting her.

After the game, everyone was free to discuss things. Gu Yanchen took Shen Qingci to visit the tea garden. The two walked slowly along the path in the tea garden. The sunlight shone through the gaps in the leaves on them, creating mottled light and shadows.

"Thank you for today, Mr. Gu." Shen Qingci stopped and looked at Gu Yanchen. "I learned a lot today and met a lot of interesting people."

"You're welcome." Gu Yanchen looked at her with gentle eyes, "I'm also very happy to attend the tea party with you."

He paused, mustered up the courage to say, "Qingci, I... I like you."

Shen Qingci's heart skipped a beat. She looked at Gu Yanchen in surprise, her face flushing red instantly.

Gu Yanchen looked at her nervously, waiting for her answer.

After a long while, Shen Qingci whispered, "Mr. Gu, I...I need some time to think about it."

Although Gu Yanchen felt a little disappointed, he still nodded: "Okay, I'll wait for you."

Although there was no clear answer, Gu Yanchen's confession was like a stone, causing ripples in Shen Qingci's heart.

She knew that her feelings towards Gu Yanchen were no longer just gratitude and appreciation.
