Chapter 4 Gift Scrawl

Chapter 4: Gifts Sloppily

At this moment, the door was suddenly pushed open from the inside.

The boy was startled and took two steps back.

"Where are you from? What do you do?" A middle-aged man dressed like a manager saw the boy and asked with a frown while looking at him.

"My father asked me to come here." The boy said timidly.

"Who is your father?"

"Zhou... Zhou Ershuan."

The steward narrowed his eyes and found the boy familiar: "From Zhoujia Village?"

The boy nodded quickly and stepped forward to hand over the deposit receipt.

"What did you do this time?" The steward took the receipt and read it, then scolded with a sullen face, "We agreed to deliver the things last night, but my master waited for the whole night!"

Finally, we found another one in the middle of the night, but it didn't work at all. The master's mind was full of the portrait sent by Zhoujia Village earlier! He was still throwing things and getting angry!

He was scolded and was about to take people to Zhoujia Village to deal with the matter.

The steward said this, looking at the donkey cart behind the boy.

"You...please calm down." The boy said terrifiedly, "My father injured his leg yesterday and couldn't move, so he was delayed...I came here on behalf of my father last night, but I took the wrong road, and when I arrived, the city gate was closed..."

"That's enough!" The manager didn't have the patience to listen to his nonsense: "Just tell me whether the goods have been brought."

"Right, right in the car."

The steward waved to the servants behind him.

A large black cloth bag was hidden at the bottom of the funeral items. Several servants worked together to move it down. The "thing" inside was struggling and moving slightly.

The steward noticed something was wrong: "Why is it so heavy?"

The boy lowered his head and whispered, "My father said that in addition to the one in the portrait, he got another good one, so he asked me to deliver it together... It's just that my father couldn't come in person this time, and the job was not done well enough, so I take it as an apology to you."

The manager heard this without any suspicion and his expression eased slightly.

Don't hit a smiling person. Since the other party was so capable and would have a lot of business with Zhoujia Village in the future, there was no reason for him to be too harsh. He took out a purse and threw it at the boy: "Next time you are late, I won't be so easy on you."

"Yes, thank you very much, thank you very much." The boy bowed quickly.

"Wait." When the servants passed by, the steward wanted to open the cloth bag to take a look.

The boy's heart suddenly jumped.

However, the knot that was used to tie the black cloth bag was tied very tightly. When the steward was struggling to untie it, he heard the boy's shouting from the alley: "Come here quickly, the cat is coming this way!"

The young men were the noisiest in the morning, chasing cats and dogs.

The steward heard this and did not want to be seen and cause trouble, so he urged the servants: "Carry it in first."

After all, this was not the first time that a deal had happened, and the people in Zhoujia Village had always known this well, and never dared to use their clever tricks on his family's master, otherwise they would suffer the consequences.

Seeing that the group of people returned to the yard and closed the door, the boy did not dare to delay for a moment and drove away quickly.

The donkey cart stopped when passing through the alley. The girl who had just spoken to attract the attention of those people nodded and said, "Well done."

"Here!" The boy handed her the purse with bright eyes, perhaps because of the praise or because he was too nervous and excited.

The girl took the purse with one hand and touched the green donkey's head with the other, her eyes full of approval.

On the other side, the steward of the villa led his servants to carry the cloth bag into the inner courtyard, and a man in brocade clothes, about thirty years old, walked out.

The man with dark eyes was fat and had big ears. He kicked the manager angrily and said, "I told you to go to Zhoujia Village, why are you still lingering here? Where did you find this low-quality stuff to fill the gap? Get rid of it now!"

The steward covered his stomach and cried out "Ouch!" Without even trying to cry out in pain, he quickly bowed and said with a smile, "Sir, calm down! This is the one that was just sent by Zhoujia Village... the one in the portrait!"

His husband had some unusual hobbies when he was young, and he didn't like girls from brothels very much. He only liked girls from decent families. A few days ago, he received the portrait sent by the people of Zhoujia Village, and he couldn't take his eyes away. It was as if his soul was hooked away, and he thought about it every day -

The man's anger disappeared upon hearing this, and his eyes were filled with joy. He urged the servant to send the person to his room.

The steward followed him and said earnestly, "The young lady from outside may not be clean. Why don't I ask the maid to take her away and clean her up..."

"Let me see if she really looks like the fairy in the picture!"

The man couldn't wait, and when he saw the servant was about to put the sack on the ground, he hurriedly said, "Put it on the couch, be careful not to hurt my beauty!"

He went forward and untied the cloth bag himself. The harder the knot was to untie, the more itchy he felt - if beauty is too easy to obtain, then it loses its meaning.

It was very difficult to untie it, and I saw two cloth bags inside.

The man opened one of them first. The next moment, his smile froze and he stepped back with a scream: "What the hell is this!"

Seeing the ugly face of the woman with her mouth blocked and one eye blinded, the steward was also startled and tried to calm his tone: "Sir, calm down, this is just a bonus... If you don't like it, I will have you carried out and thrown away!"

Does this Zhou know how to do business? Even if it's buy one get one free, this gift is too sloppy! "Hurry up, throw it out!"

The man was very angry. To make amends, the steward had the blind woman thrown out, and at the same time, he went forward and opened another sack, saying with a smile, "The fairy in the painting that you want is here, please take a look..."

Before he finished speaking, his smile froze.

There was a suffocating silence all around.

The man whom he called "Lang Jun" turned pale, his lips trembled, and he was so angry that he almost died.

Looking at the old man who was struggling to raise his eyelids in the sack, the steward said in a trembling voice: "This...something must have gone wrong!"

There is no way such a thing would come out of a cloth bag for no reason! And there were two of them at once!

In the alley, the girl had already untied the noose from the donkey's neck and patted it: "Let's go."

Seeing her let the donkey go, the boy followed her and couldn't help asking, "Why did you send them here?"

"Why not make money if you have money?" the girl asked, holding the purse.

If others don’t traffic me, I won’t traffic others. That’s exactly it.

The boy was very uneasy: "But...but they will find out something is wrong soon."

"Even if we don't come, they will come to our door. Instead of doing that, we might as well take the initiative to explore the way and find out the truth." There was thought in the girl's eyes - the couple did not lie about the existence of this "master", and it seems more like they believe they have someone to rely on rather than dare to lie.

It would take someone so generous to afford such a villa, and it would take someone like mere mortals.

The boy seemed to understand, and quickly followed the girl: "Can we go to the government office now?"

"Even more so."

"Ah..." The boy was confused: "Then where to go?"

"Here it comes." The girl walked faster: "Run—"

Before the boy could fully react, he instinctively ran after her.

Soon, the manager's angry voice could be heard from behind: "Quick! We must bring that brat back!"

Not far out of the long alley is the bustling street market.

The people were chasing them very closely. The girl and the boy ran through the crowd for a while, and then, taking advantage of the cover of the kite stall in front of them, they slipped into a carriage parked on the street.

She saw that there was no one in the car and could use it to take shelter for a while.

Through the slightly raised gap in the car curtain, I saw the manager and his men continuing to chase forward, and the group of people soon disappeared in the crowd.

The girl then silently lowered the curtain.

Just as she was about to leave, something she saw out of the corner of her eye made her pause, and her eyes immediately fell on the coffee table in the car.

She looked closely at the things on the table and was quite surprised.

After several days of hard work, I finally signed the contract. As we all know, the rules of the game are that once you sign the contract, you can vote for the monthly ticket! (Some small hints for asking for monthly tickets) What are you going to eat for lunch? Let me give you some advice
