Chapter 372 Flower Tea

In the morning, Song Yan slept exceptionally soundly.

Song Yan suggested that they hold off on discussing the pregnancy for now, as there was still some uncertainty. It would be too embarrassing if a misunderstanding arose. Wei Aiguo said he would handle the matter.

Wei Aiguo could tell that Song Yan's emotions had been fluctuating so much these past few days; she was trying her best to suppress them. This wasn't her true intention, nor was it something she could truly suppress. He decided to talk to his mother and ask for her understanding.

Mother was tending the fire, and steam was rising from the pot.

"Mother!" Wei Aiguo called out as he entered the room.

"Hmm!" Aunt Wei glanced behind her son to make sure no one was there. Wei Aiguo, of course, knew what his mother was looking at.

"Mother!" Wei Aiguo squatted down in front of his mother. "Why do I feel like Xiaoyan has been acting a little strange these past few days?"

I can't wake him up in the morning.

Aunt Wei glanced at her son. She had initially worried about the coldness between her son and daughter-in-law. Now, seeing how affectionate they were, she realized they were doing well. "You two are young, but don't get too rowdy at night."

“Mother! No, we haven’t had any these past two days…” Wei Aiguo’s face turned red instantly.

Hearing her son's words, Aunt Wei finally took them to heart. "Xiao Yan, have you been feeling unwell these past two days?"

Wei Aiguo shook his head. "No, it's just that I feel like she's always about to lose her temper."

Aunt Wei had always hoped her son would have a child soon. Now that he was back, she naturally started thinking about it. "Second son, maybe your wife is pregnant. Listen to me..."

Aunt Wei carefully gave him her instructions.

Wei Aiguo scratched his head helplessly. His mother's message was the same: he needed to behave himself. Wei Aiguo understood. His mother was still worried and kept reminding him. Wei Aiguo was incredibly embarrassed! But at the same time, he subtly showed his surprise.

However, Mother and Song Yan shared the same thought. The timeframe was too short; they should wait and see. Mother felt that Song Yan hadn't noticed it himself, so she wouldn't let Wei Aiguo bring it up; they should wait and see in a few more days.

On the second day of the Lunar New Year, relatives and neighbors began to visit each other.

In the brigade, almost every household was bustling with people coming and going.

Aunt Wei is quite old. Usually, it's the younger generation who come to visit her. Today, however, she kept Song Yan by her side and wouldn't let her leave.

In the afternoon, Wei Aiguo suggested going out for a walk. Song Yan was more than happy to oblige. Wei Aiguo had been constantly around him, leaving him no time to be alone. He hadn't even had a chance to go into his own space.

Since their second uncle returned, Wei Ping and Wei An have spent less time with their aunt. They wanted to go see their aunt, but their grandmother forbade them from causing trouble.

Song Yan led Bai Shuang into the space.

Bai Shuang started trying to get close to Song Yan whenever she had the chance yesterday, but Song Yan didn't want to have much contact with Bai Shuang.

The white frost is getting irritated.

Song Yan closed his eyes to rest near the flower field.

The fragrance of flowers surrounding Song Yan enveloped him, and the inexplicable restlessness in his heart gradually dissipated.

After sleeping in the space for a while, I felt refreshed and comfortable.

Once inside the space, Song Yan prepared water and food for Bai Shuang. After eating and drinking its fill, Bai Shuang obediently lay down next to its food bowl.

Song Yan: "Bai Shuang, you have to be a good girl and listen to me. Don't get too close to me, okay?"

I don't know if Bai Shuang understood or not, but it just stood there, wagging its tail happily.

It's best not to keep pets while you're pregnant. You can't buy deworming medication for pets right now, and there are no vaccinations for dogs!

But where can we send Blackie and White Frost? There's nowhere to foster them!

Maintaining distance is the only option. Especially, Wei Ping and Wei An should keep their distance from the dog.

Song Yan wanted to eat a big apple before going out. She felt that eating an apple would make her feel better…

When Wei Aiguo returned, he saw Song Yan reading a book, her brows relaxed and her expression content. This indicated that she was in a good mood.

Shen Changchuan, who was drinking flower tea and leaning back in his chair with his eyes closed, had a rare look of contentment on his face.

Secretary Fang poured herself a cup of camellia tea. The tea had a faint floral fragrance, and when you sip it carefully, you can taste a sweet aftertaste.

This is really good stuff.

The things Song Yan brought, except for the flower tea, were the same as what General Shen had brought. This indicates that the flower tea was for Old Shen to improve his health.

But Secretary Fang also really likes this flavor. What should I do? I don't know if I can drink it long-term. Should I ask for some next time?

Secretary Fang poured herself another glass.

Shen Changchuan: "You'll drink this whole pot of flower tea in a moment."

"I've given you so much! If you find it annoying that I'm sitting here, you can pack some for me and I'll brew it myself at home." Secretary Fang held the teacup, took a deep breath, and tried to inhale the fragrance of the flowers.

"You wish!" Shen Changchuan said. He poured himself a glass as well. Otherwise, the whole pot of water would be gone.

Secretary Fang knew he wouldn't give it to him. "I knew you wouldn't be willing to part with it. I'll just come here every day and pour myself a glass."

Shen Changchuan ignored him, his expression clearly indicating he didn't want to give him any, but what could he do? Could he cover the teapot?

Secretary Fang didn't really want to be here either. But what could he do? It was the Lunar New Year, and Shen Changchuan was all alone; he had to keep him company and chat for a while!

This habit has been going on for almost 20 years since Shen Changchuan remarried. Old Shen is no longer the spirited young man he once was. I, too, have gone from a teenager who idolized Old Shen to what I am now, with gray hair!
