Song Yan slapped the agreement he had signed with the supply and marketing cooperative in front of Li Yuanzhao. Li Yuanzhao understood it immediately, and she believed the team leader would agree to it. Song Yan wanted Li Yuanzhao to manage it. Was this tempting to Li Yuanzhao? Certainly, but she felt she was stealing Song Yan's credit.
Song Yan was willing to step back from the spotlight because she was essentially a dispensable supporting actress.
Song Yan's reasoning was that she needed to care for the elderly and two children, and couldn't devote herself fully to management. Rural women were scattered and difficult to manage. Moreover, with so many women in the village, recruiting only a portion would create competition. The educated youth had no priority. If Li Yuanzhao were in charge, and Song Yan provided the technical skills, the educated youth in the established weaving group would have a voice.
It was generally difficult for educated youth to earn ten work points, and they lived a very frugal life. Wouldn't it be great to earn an extra one?
Furthermore, Song Yan had a plan for the distribution of income: 10% of the income from weaving would go to the village, 20% to the literacy class for children to pay teachers' salaries and students' expenses, and the remaining 70% would be the income of the weavers, including managers and weaving women.
Also, she has to take care of the knitting group, so she can't keep an eye on the students. Song Yan's idea is to let Xiaoxiao take care of the students.
Li Yuanzhao almost wanted to applaud Song Yan. "I've noticed you've become smarter since you got married."
One sentence made Song Yan uncomfortable. Had his disguise been exposed? "Getting married means you're an adult now, of course it's different. I've accomplished such a big thing, aren't you all going to cook me something to eat?"
"Forget it, with your cooking skills, you wouldn't need us!" Li Yuanzhao and Xiaoxiao walked away together.
Having accomplished everything he wanted to do, Song Yan slept soundly that night.
Li Yuanzhao knew how much she would benefit from handling this matter. Song Yan was now sharing half of the profits with her. She couldn't sleep at night thinking about it.
She can't sleep, and there's Xiaoxiao. That little sister who always needed her care is now taking care of her. Forget about all the good food she gets. Just look at teaching the children; if the knitting group does well, she'll definitely earn some income. Her family has many children and is struggling financially; she's always wished she could send some money home! Once she gets paid for teaching the children, will she be able to send money back?
