"Sister Yue, come and see what new thing I got." A vendor showed Yueyue a fist-sized incense burner.
Yueyue put on the little gloves that Grandma Wang had made for her. She took it and looked at the little stove from left to right.
Yin Chunmei stared wide-eyed at what Yueyue was holding. The incense burner was too small for an adult; Yueyue needed both hands to hold it.
However, I don't know what this thing is made of; it has a crystal-clear appearance.
Vendor: "Sister Yue, isn't this pretty?"
When I received it, the old lady even used it to burn incense.
How about 25 yuan?
Yin Chunmei's eyes nearly popped out of her head. An adult was asking a child for 25 yuan. She hadn't even earned 20 yuan a month before. "How can you be so dishonest, lying to a child?"
Although Yin Chunmei was scared, she had to stand up, after all, she was an adult.
Vendor: "Sister, you can't just say that! How could I possibly lie to Sister Yue?"
Yueyue put the incense burner down. "I don't know if you're trying to fool me, or if you've been fooled by someone else!"
This isn't an incense burner for burning incense; it's for spreading incense. It should also have a lid!
This thing still has a lid; yours is incomplete, so it won't fetch a good price.
The vendor was new to the business. He thought the item was attractive, but he really didn't dare to lie to Yueyue. "This thing even has a lid? I paid 15 yuan for it!" An incomplete item meant it wouldn't sell for any money.
Yueyue saw something similar at Gu San's place; it was a Xuande incense burner.
It's a pity the lid is gone. Even so, it's still valuable. But Yueyue doesn't like things that aren't complete.
Everyone on this street knows that Yueyue always shows Gu San'er what she buys. No one has ever dared to try and fool Yueyue with counterfeit goods.
After Yueyue walked away, the vendor finally realized what had happened. He hadn't meant to cheat Yueyue.
But he said he had to lie; Yueyue had to believe him. The vendor chased after them, "Sister Yue, I really misjudged it; I didn't know that thing had a lid."
I got a rattle drum; I'm giving it to you to take home and appease your little brother!
There was only one rattle drum at home, and the two boys were fighting over it. Song Yan bought them a regular one. I don't know why, but they're still fighting over the one Yueyue originally bought for them.
Yueyue said her younger brother has good taste.
So Yueyue wanted to find another one that was similar.
However, it has been quite a long time since I found it.
And you know what? The one the vendor is holding looks a bit like the original one.
Yueyue took the rattle drum; it was quite heavy, and it made a loud "bang bang bang" sound when she turned it.
The sound was also very crisp.
Yueyue: "How much?"
The vendor said, "It's free, you can have it!" He had originally intended to keep it for his son.
Yueyue turned the drum handle, and the ruby on the handle reflected a dazzling light.
It looks nice, but this is not for my younger brother to play with.
Mom said that with the inlaid design, it would be easy for my younger brother to pry the parts off. It would be terrible if he ate them.
Yueyue: "How much are you planning to spend?"
"Eighteen yuan! Minimum ten yuan!" He wouldn't have given it away if it weren't to please this young lady; he only accepted it for nine yuan.
Yueyue handed the rattle to Yin Chunmei and then counted out ten yuan from her bag and handed it over.
The vendors were afraid to buy it.
Yueyue: "Give him the rattle drum!"
Someone nearby said, "Here, take it! This kid never takes anything for free!"
If a child casually takes something, they won't say anything unless it's very valuable, out of respect for Gu San.
But this child never does that.
So everyone on this street likes Yueyue very much.
After thinking for a moment, the vendor took the money from Yueyue.
Yin Chunmei's world was turned upside down once again.
She could already sense the attitude of the people around her towards Yueyue, which was quite unbelievable.
People of all ages call her Sister Yue. Now, Yueyue takes out ten yuan as if it were just a few cents.
Yueyue took the rattle drum and went to another stall. "Uncle Zhao, this is for you!"
Minimum price is twenty yuan! This one is a ruby!
The man called Uncle Zhao replied, "Alright!"
Yueyue bought some things that she didn't really like, and she sold them off without a second thought. But she didn't want to spend every day at the flea market.
Yueyue asked Gu San'er what to do.
Old Zhao, who was selling goods nearby, overheard this. "I can help you buy it!"
Just tell me how much you want to sell it for. I'll pay you once it's sold!
"Are you helping me for nothing?" Yueyue asked.
"This doesn't even count as helping out. I'm just squatting here every day anyway! It's nothing I can do!" Old Zhao really couldn't be happier to do something so easy.
This indirectly connected him with Gu San'er, so no one dared to bully him here.
"That's a great idea! But I can't let you help me for nothing, can I?" Yueyue tugged at Gu San'er's sleeve, asking for his help. Yueyue didn't know what to do!
Gu San'er is incredibly soft-hearted; look how sensible this child is.
Wu San can be ruthless when he wants to, but that's only when he's dealing with his adversaries. When it comes to business, he follows the rules.
Yueyue has learned that a gentleman loves money, but he earns it in a proper way.
Gu San'er: "Just let him help you sell them!"
You get 50 cents for items under 10 yuan, 1 yuan for items under 20 yuan, and so on.
If he sells it for a higher price than you set, you two split the extra profit!
Old Zhao: "Third Master, how could I take advantage of a child! I won't take any of the extra money!" Getting on Gu San's good side is the most worthwhile thing.
Gu San'er waved his hand to indicate that the matter was settled, and then it was indeed settled.
He wasn't afraid that Lao Zhao would deceive Yueyue.
Old Zhao really didn't have the guts.
Old Zhao was also afraid of something else: that Yueyue would set the price too high, and if that happened, he probably wouldn't be able to sell a single one for a long time, and he wouldn't be able to explain it to anyone!
However, after working together for a period of time, they found that they got along very well.
Old Zhao: "Sister Yue, I've sold two more items."
Yueyue: "That's great! How much did it sell for?"
Old Zhao then explained to Yueyue how much money each item would fetch, how much would go to Yueyue, and how much he would keep for himself. Old Zhao explained everything clearly.
While Yin Chunmei was still dumbfounded, Yueyue stuffed the money into her bag.
Then Yin Chunmei kept a close eye on Yueyue's bag, afraid that she would lose her money.
Yueyue: "Why are you staring at my bag?"
Yin Chunmei lowered her voice: "Don't lose so many people!"
Yueyue patted Baishuang's head, "Baishuang's here..."
Yin Chunmei had no idea how she got back with Yueyue. She had completely forgotten about her fears while shopping and her fear of running into acquaintances!
When Yueyue came back, she went to the folding chair her mother had made for her and started rummaging through her things.
Yin Chunmei often gets distracted when she helps with the cooking.
