Chapter 747 Investigation

After the first vehicle stopped, a young soldier got out. He opened the back door, and judging from his attire and demeanor, the person who got out must be an officer.

He should also be a cadre of considerable rank.

The next vehicle also had its door opened by a soldier.

The official quickly walked over and helped the elderly man off the bus.

After the elderly man got off the bus, he waved his hand to indicate that he didn't need help. The official then took half a step back and followed behind the elderly man.

The first two military vehicles were driven by guards.

The people who got out of the third car were four soldiers, all armed.

With this kind of setup, anyone who says the people getting out of the first two jeeps don't have any status would be blind.

Secretary Guan and Principal Ji went out to greet them.

Di Jianjun and another soldier took out their identification documents and showed them to Principal Ji and Secretary Guan, while also introducing their respective leaders.

Di Jianjun: "Old Zeng and Political Commissar Xia want to see your school's Party Secretary and Principal. I don't know if we can find them now."

Secretary Guan and Principal Ji immediately identified themselves. "Old Zeng, Political Commissar Xia, this is Principal Ji, and I am the school's Party Secretary!"

They also shared the same idea.

This time, Liu Xian has really gotten himself into a mess.

Regardless of what Mr. Zeng did for a living, they did see the leader's identification.

This is known to everyone: Commander Shen's military and political commissar.

It goes without saying what this person is here for.

The army commander and political commissar are the pillars of an army. They should be close partners.

Let's assume they disagree and have conflicts at work. But now that Commander Shen is in this state, even if his political commissar is just trying to save face for their army, he will definitely turn his guns outward.

Who's that outsider? It's Liu Xian!

If Wei Aiguo insists that Liu Xian was spying on Commander Shen's secrets, things will not end well today.

Political Commissar Xia: "I heard that your student Wei Aiguo is unable to leave the school even though he has a leave slip. I've come to see what the reason is."

Wei Aiguo is both a soldier and a military dependent. His father was injured and hospitalized; why can't he go? Does your school have such a rule?

Secretary Guan: "How could our school have such a rule?"

Comrade Wei Aiguo is still in the guardhouse. Something else happened just now..."

The small guardhouse couldn't hold so many people.

Principal Ji: "Shall I take you all to the conference room?"

Both Zeng Lao and Political Commissar Xia agreed to find a larger place to talk.

When they arrived at the conference room, Zeng Lao sat down, but Political Commissar Xia stood beside him the whole time.

Even someone of Political Commissar Xia's rank was standing, so Secretary Guan and Principal Ji didn't dare to sit.

Old Zeng: "Come here, this is your dad's partner, Political Commissar Xia!"

Wei Aiguo stood at attention and saluted. "Greetings, Commander!"

Political Commissar Xia returned Wei Aiguo's salute, then patted him on the shoulder. "Your dad has praised you to my face many times, but he's kept you well hidden. I only met you today!"

Your dad and I have been working together for years, so you can just call me Uncle Xia in private!

Commissar Xia was just being polite; in reality, he didn't acknowledge his father.

Wei Aiguo nodded, "Uncle Xia."

Old Zeng finally spoke. "I heard you can't leave the school gates anymore, what happened?"

Liu Xian wasn't stupid; he was a shrewd and calculating person by nature.

They heard what the guards in the gatehouse said.

The military and political commissar was someone he couldn't possibly reach. Yet, the military and political commissar had to stand next to that old man.

They all came for Wei Aiguo.

Could he afford to offend them? There's no going back in this world; if there were, he would have taken it long ago.

Liu Xian: "Comrades, there was a misunderstanding that Wei Aiguo was unable to leave the school."

Wei Aiguo, young and hot-blooded, hit me. I'll let it go because he was worried about his father's illness.

Old Zeng: "Not going to pursue it?"

That's not acceptable. Military academies, like the military, are places that emphasize discipline. Those who make mistakes must take responsibility for them.

Should we not pursue this matter? If this isn't clarified today, it will become a stain on Wei Aiguo's reputation.

Is it reasonable to assault a school leader and then shirk responsibility?

Old Zeng believed that Wei Aiguo wasn't such an impulsive person. He certainly wouldn't beat someone up just for a moment of pleasure, leaving himself with such a big handle against him.

Wei Aiguo saluted Political Commissar Xia again. "Report, Political Commissar Xia, I have important information to report..."

Liu Xian: "You hit me, and I've already let it go. What else do you want?"

Liu Xian's statement shows that he is guilty.

How could he not feel guilty? Preventing Wei Aiguo from leaving school wasn't exactly a legitimate reason to begin with, and Wei Aiguo was still clinging to his words. He really wasn't a spy or anything; the truth about Shen Changchuan's illness was all just hearsay.

Liu Xian was so caught up in the moment that he didn't hold back his words. He later realized that Wei Aiguo's question had been leading him astray. But he had fallen for it…

Some things are okay to say behind someone's back, but definitely not in public.

Whether Commander Shen was murdered by accident or by someone else, it was not something someone of his rank could get involved in or investigate.

Wei Aiguo repeated what he had said before, in more detail than before.

Liu Xian wanted to explain, but Political Commissar Xia didn't give him a chance to speak at all.

Political Commissar Xia: "This is not a minor issue. Let whichever department is responsible for investigating it investigates it!"

Commissar Xia's bodyguard then made the call.

Liu Xian was covered in sweat.

Secretary Guan and Principal Ji both understood that Liu Xian might not necessarily be a spy, but what he did was certainly not respectable.
