Song Yan: This kid definitely has status and background, and he's not just any ordinary person.
They were all a little scared, thinking they were going to be taken to the police station. The big-eyed boy, however, was fearless.
The others slowly tried to stand up, but one of them sat on the ground, trying to play dumb. "Ouch, my legs hurt, I can't stand up!"
Because he was sitting on the ground, Song Yan stepped directly on his legs.
"Ouch! It hurts! I can stand up now! I can stand up!"
Lift your foot! Lift your foot!
These people were dawdling and dragging their feet as they climbed up...
Today was different from usual. All the police stations received notices that children had gone missing and were asked to keep an eye out. Unless there were special circumstances, all the police officers who could work overtime did so.
Although the place was secluded, the sound of several gunshots quickly attracted people.
The police officers saw a group of young men walking haphazardly, followed by three women and a dog.
"Police officers! Police officers! They're robbing us!" the short man shouted.
The others realized what was happening and started shouting things like "Robbery!" and "Help!"
Song Yan ripped off one of the men's clothes, concealing their knives inside. "Whoosh!"
Song Yan threw the knife on the ground. "These are from them!"
"Comrade! This gun was seized from him; the other one should still have a gun on him!"
“We were just out for a stroll, we didn’t do anything! Look how badly they beat me up…” the shifty-eyed man shouted.
The police officer slapped him on the back of the head. "Shut up!"
Song Yan said they had guns, so the three comrades became more cautious. They searched the strongest man and, sure enough, found a gun on his waist.
"I don't know if the others have guns," Song Yan said, handing the gun handle to the police officer.
He handed over the gun, the muzzle pointed at himself. The comrade who received the gun had a very good impression of Song Yan.
This group of unemployed youths, some living here and some from nearby, are known for their frequent fights. They also claimed that these three women robbed them.
Their pockets are probably cleaner than their faces.
The youngest of the three women was the one holding the gun; she was wearing a white shirt, black trousers, and black leather shoes. People dressed like this usually have good jobs.
The tallest and strongest female comrade is particularly energetic and spirited.
The comrade who looked timid was wearing work clothes from a food processing plant.
Could those three have been robbing someone?
"We didn't rob them, it was them! Look what they did to us!"
"If you don't believe me, ask Xia."
These people were speaking while pointing at them.
"Shut up! Hands behind your head and don't move!" The comrade kicked one of the thugs who was still trying to move. "Search them!"
Three knives and a gun were found on them.
Everyone was taken to the police station; some had gunshot wounds, but the wounds weren't vital. They were given basic first aid.
"Hurry up and take your statements, give a clear answer! Then we'll take you to the hospital."
"Scream! Scream! What are you yelling for!" The police officer kicked him again without any mercy.
Song Yan followed behind them without saying a word.
Although Song Yan didn't understand their case-handling procedures, he still found it a bit strange.
After all, it was a gunshot wound, shouldn't we go to the hospital first?
Why were the police officers in such a hurry?
Torture is no longer a big deal. The thugs who initially shouted tried to argue their way out. Although they weren't in the same room, Song Yan heard everything clearly. None of the police officers showed any mercy.
Three of them bled, and one of them had a fracture even if he didn't bleed. The police officers at the local station quickly took their statements before sending them to the hospital and reporting the incident to their superiors.
Song Yan heard it clearly, and he specifically mentioned a name: "...Xia Mingjiu is inside!"
"Let's take the statement later!"
"It's all over. All eight of them have confessed. They've admitted it without hesitation."
So that's why they were in such a hurry to give their statement!
Are these police officers very responsible?
Song Yan guessed that Xia Mingjiu must be that big-eyed kid.
At this point, female comrades took statements from Song Yan and the others.
"Can we go now?" Song Yan asked.
"Sit down and have a drink of water first. Don't panic if you're frightened. Just sit down and calm down."
Let me introduce myself. My surname is Lu, and my given name is Lu Jian. As he spoke, this comrade poured water for them.
Seeing Yin Chunmei's terrified state, Song Yan felt a pang of heartache. This poor woman had lost her son again. She wasn't about to let these thugs get away with it. "We won't drink the water," she said. "The three of us women were only safe today because two of us are quite skilled."
What would happen to someone else?
I believe the police will give us justice!
Lu Jian immediately recognized Song Yan as the leader of the three women. After taking their statements, he also learned their identities: a college student, a nanny, and a factory worker.
“That’s right! That’s right!” Lu Jian exclaimed.
Song Yan turned and left.
Lu Jian panicked and tried to grab her sleeve. How could he possibly reach Song Yan's sleeve? Lu Jian simply took a few quick steps and blocked their path. "Comrade!"
These people all have petty theft records, but none of them have committed any major crimes. No one has even reported them for indecent assault.
You guys went too far! If we hold you accountable, you'll be in big trouble too.
"Family members will be here soon, why don't you sit down and discuss it? It won't do you any harm!"
