Two soldiers stood at the door of the VIP ward, not the same ones I'd seen yesterday. Inside, guard Zhou Gang was applying a damp towel to the commander's head. Several people in white coats were already standing by the bedside.
Secretary Fang introduced them one by one: the dean, the director of internal medicine, and the director of traditional Chinese medicine.
Song Yan humbly shook hands with everyone. They were all very polite and surprisingly didn't look down on a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner who worked in a traditional earthen stove. In fact, they were quite pleased to see Song Yan, which was completely unexpected.
What Song Yan didn't know was that they were completely helpless with their leader's headaches and were already at their wits' end. They would treat anyone who offered help with utmost respect.
Song Yan was very polite, saying, "I might need acupuncture, and I'll need needles."
"Okay, I'll prepare it for you right away." The head of the Traditional Chinese Medicine department immediately went to get the needles.
Commander Shen looked very unwell. "Comrade Song, I'm so sorry to have troubled you to come all this way while you were still taking care of your child."
"I'd be happy to help you if it does." With that, Song Yan placed his hand on the commander's wrist…
Song Yan: "You've had this headache for over 20 years, haven't you?"
Secretary Fang excitedly agreed, "Yes!"
"You must have received treatment in between, but it only provided temporary relief. When you're overworked or emotionally agitated, it will recur, right?"
"right!"
"Because after treatment, it shouldn't be this severe under normal circumstances. You must have experienced some kind of trauma, right? Also, your hands and feet get cold whenever you have a headache. You also have difficulty digesting oily and greasy foods. You don't sleep well either, and you wake up easily at night."
"You're absolutely right, is there any way to cure this?" Secretary Fang was so excited!
"Let's give the leader acupuncture to relieve his symptoms first!" Director Wang had already brought the needles. Song Yan inserted one needle after another into the leader's head. The bodyguard, Zhou Gang, was most afraid of these things, so he stayed far away.
Secretary Fang also felt uncomfortable in her head and touched it several times.
Song Yan found them quite funny.
The head of the Traditional Chinese Medicine department had already heard their doctors praise Song Yan as an expert. Seeing it today, he couldn't help but whisper, "Why did Song Yan choose these acupoints?"
Song Yan was already quite skilled in acupuncture, and with Lao Han's guidance, her technique has become even more refined. She didn't feel there was anything to keep secret, and she explained everything to the director generously when asked.
Although Secretary Fang didn't understand, she realized that the director was asking for advice, and Song Yan was teaching. Song Yan's generosity further increased Secretary Fang's opinion of her.
