Chapter 208 Wolves

Wang Zhuzi's parents, finding Cheng Xiuyun's affair too shameful, kicked Wang Zhuzi's family out of the family home. They were evicted, not separated. Wang Zhuzi's family fell into poverty, and not just ordinary poverty.

Wei Erzhuang was injured in the arm, and Wang Zhuzi was injured in the leg.

Liu Sanzi took the gun from Chang Xiaohu's back. "Bang!" One of the wolves was wounded but not dead. He fired a finishing shot.

"Quickly apply a simple bandage to stop the bleeding," Song Yan instructed.

But they had nothing to bandage their wounds. Song Yan took a piece of clothing from his basket, cut it into strips with a machete, and used it to give them a simple bandage.

While Song Yan was bandaging the wound, Chen Xiaobei and Sun Zheng actually peeled off a wolf skin.

Some pine branches have pine resin on them, which ignites easily.

Chang Xiaohu held a lit pine branch and shone it on the wolf skin.

Song Yan took the pine branch and examined the wolf pelt. Then he searched the wolf's carcass.

"Sister-in-law, what's wrong?" Wei Erzhuang asked.

Five lit pine branches gathered together made quite a light source. "Has anyone seen a wolf before? Are all wolves' neck fur like this?"

After listening to Song Yan's words, everyone looked at the wolf's neck. The fur on the wolf's neck was obviously worn, sparse, and short.

Song Yan had seen stray dogs chained with iron chains. Unlike domesticated pets, whose chains have leather around the neck and show little wear, the chained stray dogs had obvious signs of wear on their neck fur.

They observed several more wolves, and all of them were the same. No one voiced their suspicions, because they felt it was unlikely.

The wolf was chained up, how could that be?

"Let's skin two more wolves and take them back to someone with experience to take a look," Liu Sanzi suggested.

Song Yan: "Hurry up, my mother is still by the roadside."

“Auntie? By the way, what are you doing around here?” Not only Wei Erzhuang, but everyone else thought the same thing.

“We went to Daxiling Village, and we heard gunshots on the way here,” Song Yan replied.

Chang Xiaohu whispered to Song Yan, "I heard my godmother calling out, she's alright."

Song Yan: "Let's hurry!"

They'd almost lost all the pheasants and rabbits they'd hunted. They couldn't go back empty-handed, so the three of them, who weren't seriously injured, each carried a wolf.

Chang Xiaohu carried the wolf skin on his back, while Wei Erzhuang, despite having an injured arm, carried Wang Zhuzi on his back.

Song Yan led the way, holding a pine branch. Chang Xiaohu pointed out the direction for her to walk outside…

"There's a light!" Liu Sanzi shouted excitedly.

The people who were being attacked by wolves were incredibly excited to see the blazing fire...

"You two are finally back!" Aunt Wei was extremely anxious.

Looking at the wolf's carcass and several wolf pelts, Aunt Wei was extremely surprised.
