Chapter 33 First Blood

For a moment, the only sound on the snowy ground was the clang of swords clashing. In the blink of an eye, the two had exchanged blows over ten times. Finally, the man raised his arm and thrust his sword fiercely between Luo Jiujiang's eyebrows. Undeterred, Luo Jiujiang struck back with his own blade, the tips of the blade and sword colliding perilously in mid-air.

This move was extremely dangerous. If Luo Jiujiang's knife tip missed by the thickness of a fingernail, the skull would be shattered and the brain would splatter.

The two men wrestled in this position and stalemate, their eyes meeting for a moment. Luo Jiujiang could see that the man's face had turned blue. It was obvious that he had not expected that such a fatal move could be blocked by Luo Jiujiang.

"You're lucky, kid," the man muttered grimly, "but will luck alone save your life next time?"

"Thank you very much." Luo Jiujiang raised his eyebrows and smiled. In this life-or-death struggle, his expression was relaxed and at ease. "But you insist on deceiving yourself and others by saying I'm lucky? Forget it. Is it really that hard to admit that you're not good enough?"

The man was already angry, and now, provoked by his calm demeanor, his eyes instantly turned red, almost bleeding: "You little brat is just showing off your eloquence!"

Luo Jiujiang raised his head and laughed heartily: "Old man, please move aside. Young people are just honest and sincere. They speak the truth."

He pronounced the last eight words in a funny and playful tone. Taking advantage of the moment when the other party's attention was attracted by his words, Luo Jiujiang withdrew his strength and drew back the knife. The blade boldly drew a semicircle, and the knife's aura was so strong that it pressed directly against the man's chest and abdomen.

While the man's face showed a look of sudden realization and he hurriedly fought back to defend, Luo Jiujiang's momentum, which was like mercury pouring out of the ground, suddenly withdrew - it turned out that he had just feinted.

"I told you long ago that old man shouldn't be so violent, but I never thought you wouldn't listen." Luo Jiujiang took advantage of the split second he had just gained and swung his sword rapidly, raising and lowering the blade endlessly, almost slicing out a wave as vast as the night. "No wonder they say good words can't persuade a damned ghost. I'm so kindhearted, but I'm still arguing with an old man like you, half of his body buried in the snow."

The sound of his voice came from somewhere, sometimes far away, sometimes high, sometimes low, and there was a sense of vibration in the sound waves. For a moment, the buzzing echo surrounded the man layer by layer, and the hazy and trembling sound waves repeatedly hit the man's eardrums, making him almost vomit.

The higher the intensity of the sound killing, the more spiritual energy was required. Luo Jiujiang was a little weak now, and almost all of his spiritual energy was poured into the blade. Now he used the sound killing only to harass the side and attract some of the opponent's attention.

This set of swift swords was the Broken Wind Pavilion that Luo Cang had praised, and which he had modified. Although it couldn't compare to the artistic conception revealed by Luo Cang's casual swing, it was very useful in such a life-or-death situation.

The two were at a crucial moment in their clash, Luo Jiujiang temporarily holding the upper hand, his swift blade daring not to pause. His opponent, though on the defensive, was watching closely, using his abundant and overwhelming spiritual energy to wait for the slightest sign of weakness before striking back.

In this situation, Luo Jiujiang secretly hoped that Sound Kill would be a surprise attack, giving him a slight chance of victory. He also had a mischievous streak in his personality, prone to casual nonsense. In a life-or-death situation like this, words slipped through his mind, and he feared he would forget his random words afterward.

"Why are you so angry for no reason? This is not good for your health. Come on, let me chat with you. What were your parents thinking when they gave birth to you? They made you look so inconvenient. If you could grow ten or eight pairs of ears, how much saliva would I save? Oh, I was just kindly concerned about you, but you chased me and bit me like a mad dog, and your bite was light and weak. What did you do last night? You are so lustful at your age, aren't you afraid of going crazy? Listen to me, you know, going crazy is-"

Just as the man was being forced into his ears by Luo Jiujiang's constant chatter and harassment, and was becoming annoyed and confused, Luo Jiujiang's eyes became stern, and his voice became sharp, like a sharp knife. The attack suddenly exploded in the man's ears: "--Damn it!"

Under the gloomy sky, the man's screams were suppressed by Luo Jiujiang's killing sound.

Gaining the upper hand for a moment, Luo Jiujiang seized the opportunity and stabbed the man in the heart in the blink of an eye.

The sensation of the blade piercing flesh was so extraordinary that Luo Jiujiang's wrist almost paused in hesitation. However, in a split second, Du Chuan's face flashed through Luo Jiujiang's mind. The next moment, Luo Jiujiang almost subconsciously twisted the hilt of the knife, crushing the man's heart.

Du Chuan, the vicious villain, taught Luo Jiujiang a lesson personally: when facing certain people, he cannot afford to hesitate or be soft-hearted.

Blood spilled on the snow like red plum blossoms. Luo Jiujiang drew out his long sword and felt a little dizzy for a moment.

He had just fought a life-or-death battle with the other party. He looked like he was doing it with ease, but in reality, it was extremely dangerous. In this battle, he had fully utilized all the methods he had learned from Luo Cang.

From the very beginning, he raised his perception to the threshold, blocked every sword move of the opponent seamlessly, and provoked the opponent's unstable mentality. Then he used words to divert the opponent's attention, allowing him to gain a blink of an eye advantage in time and be able to turn defense into offense. Finally, he used the Sound Kill, Huifeng Bagua Steps and even a set of quick swords that implicitly included Pofenglu to attack together, and at the critical moment when the spiritual energy was circulated to the peak, Luo Jiujiang could be said to have used all his strength.

Apart from anything else, at least after the long journey and the hard fight just now, the spiritual energy in his body is almost gone.

Luo Jiujiang cleaned his blade with a handful of snow. The final blow of sound had drained nearly all of the spiritual energy from his meridians, and he'd inevitably sustained some injuries from the fight with the man. He hadn't shown any of this during his intense nervousness, but now that he'd slain the man, he took a moment to breathe and feel his wounds. Suddenly, he felt only the fresh pain of several sword wounds.
