After the two of them had been running together for less than a moment, Luo Jiujiang felt even more deeply that Xie Chuncan had misunderstood Feng Xue's intentions.
The two had been moving around on the treetops, as this position gave them a commanding view and made it easier for them to maneuver, but the large number of fallen trees in the distance showed them that they had no choice but to get down from the trees.
Numerous trees lay tangled and tangled on the ground. Luo Jiujiang almost sighed at the sight. These trees hadn't been felled by humans; perhaps someone had used some heavy, large-scale magical weapon. It looked like that magical weapon wasn't easy to control, otherwise he and Xie Chuncan would have been reduced to two pools of bloody mud by now.
Xie Chuncan retracted his strength, turned around and drew his bow, and shot out five arrows like meteors, making the excited words of "Stop them!" and "They are about to get down from the tree!" behind him cool in the cold wind.
They forced the enemy to slow down their pursuit, but they couldn't stop their own path from shortening. Soon, Xie Chuncan stood on the top of a tree at the edge, first drawing his bow and arrows to protect Luo Jiujiang as he slid down the tree, his eyes fixed firmly on Lu Qi.
Surprisingly, Lu Qi was the leader of all the pursuers. Given his fear of death and his penchant for ripping off someone's skin and stomping on them, Xie Chuncan had expected him to hide behind the others.
"I deeply regret not being able to kill you before. Are you giving me a chance to make up for it now?" Xie Chuncan's arrow was already aimed at Lu Qi's throat. The opponent should have a lot of magical weapons on his body for protection, but he believed that the power of his arrow could exceed Lu Qi's original level of defense.
"I'm standing in front so I can see you regretting it." Lu Qi's eyes were dark and sinister, filled with a kind of madness, like a reptile crawling on damp earth. He looked at Xie Chuncan, standing high on the treetops, the corner of his intact gray robe lifted by the wind. He stood tall and straight, as tall as before.
Just like when he helped Feng Xue save him, and also just like when he shot an arrow at his heart.
He still remembered the man's nonchalant bow and arrow, and the ease with which he dealt with the relentless pursuers behind him. The dashing young man in gray drew his bow and shot an arrow so fast that it was almost invisible. The long-lasting sound of "the flowers in the forest have faded in spring" fell, and the enemy's warm blood splashed on his face. A hint of fishy and sweet rust spread to his nose... All of this was almost Lu Qi's first and most profound impression of the word "power".
Xie Chuncan possessed such an absolutely powerful and seemingly unshakable power that could be put into practice while chatting and laughing, making people intoxicated and fascinated.
Feng Xue noticed that the child in front of her began to breathe rapidly and violently. She thought he was too frightened and had difficulty breathing, but she didn't know that he was desperately sniffing the intoxicating and powerful smell.
At that moment, Xie Chuncan turned his back to Feng Xue and showed off as if he was asking for credit. Xiao Ren's quick sword attracted most of his attention. Because of this, he failed to notice the crazy and burning look in Lu Qi's eyes when he looked at him, as he was lying on the ground behind him.
Even though Xie Chuncan saved him because of Feng Xue's wish, Lu Qi never looked down on Feng Xue. This girl, with her obvious weakness and kindness, tried to find a little warmth in this deadly place with an astonishingly foolish delusion.
Lu Qi quickly noticed Feng Xue's preferences. People who grow like dark mosses always know how to disguise themselves to make it easier for them to survive. He has always played the role of a sensible younger brother, so that when Xie Chuncan arrives, he can approach him eagerly and fawningly, and almost greedily listen to the other's advice.
Unfortunately, Xie Chuncan treated him no differently than Xiao Ren, and even treated him worse than Xiao Ren... This was understandable because he was still so weak.
Feng Xue didn't notice that the seedling she picked up was slowly unfolding into a twisted and enchanting mandala-like shape. She didn't know that Hua Biliu's men had contacted Lu Qi, and when Lu Qi saw the pill in the other party's hand, he readily agreed to all the conditions proposed by the other party, and was eager to pounce on him and wag his tail.
On that sunny afternoon, Lu Qi's sword tip pierced Xiao Ren's left rib without hesitation, a sickly smile of smug satisfaction appearing on his face at the impending reward. He walked out of the three-person shelter with an almost triumphant air, bumping into Xie Chuncan without dodging or avoiding him, and even extended a heartfelt invitation to him.
If a piece of meat was shared by one more person, the portion that ended up in his mouth would be less, but Xie Chuncan still held a special place in Lu Qi's heart. He still remembered the absolute power this man showed him with a bloody and rusty aura, a power that was enough to make people dizzy.
Together they can run into the arms of a greater power.
At that moment, Lu Qi's pale cheeks flushed with excitement. The boy who was usually silent smiled so wildly that he was almost unrecognizable. I don't know if it was because of the sunlight, but the shadow behind him seemed to be shaking restlessly.
A beautiful blueprint had been laid out in front of Lu Qi, and Xie Chuncan's response was to go in and take a look at Xiao Ren lying in a pool of blood, then turned around and shot him with an arrow.
If Xie Chuncan had not been so shocked and angry that his palms trembled slightly, the arrow would never have missed Lu Qi's heart by a hair's breadth.
Lu Qi was even more shocked than Xie Chuncan. He had no idea why Xie Chuncan suddenly turned against him.
Summer insects cannot talk about ice.
The moment the meteor-like arrow struck his chest, all his longing and submission instantly transformed into intense hatred and disgust. Thanks to Xie Chuncan's hasty treatment of Xiao Ren's wound, Lu Qi was able to escape wounded. Before he hurriedly fled, he glared at Xie Chuncan, his eyes brimming with venom.
