Chapter 186: Talking to Death

Han Qianling smiled slightly: "Such a strong smell of medicinal wine, do you think I have no nose? How did he train you?"

Luo Jiujiang didn't hide anything from him and told him everything that had happened in the past half day. He then sighed, "I just learned about your situation. Although he let me out to find you, he still wanted me to return to him within half an hour to continue my training. I'm not afraid of any more hardships, but Master was indeed a bit unreasonable in this matter."

"That's not necessarily unkind. He probably knows..." Han Qianling's eyes flickered at this, and a hint of hesitation etched itself in his voice. After a pause, he smiled again, "But it's always good to learn more. I see that Mr. Luo, while his temperament is quite aloof, he certainly has a special regard for you."

"He's been very kind to me." Luo Jiujiang nodded generously. "My father insisted on keeping me on the island, probably because he hoped I could become his disciple."

Since the fall of the Dragon God, the entire world of cultivation has been divided into more than 3,000 small worlds. Among these 3,000 worlds, four are particularly powerful and are named the Four Symbols.

The Three Thousand Worlds were located at varying distances from one another, with special routes connecting them for cultivators to travel between them. Many small worlds also existed within the larger worlds. For example, Luo Jiujiang's small world was subordinate to the Cloud Leopard Realm, and any promising disciples from the islands were sent to the Cloud Leopard Realm's sects.

Luo Jiujiang's eldest brother, Luo Sanhuai, and his second brother, Luo Liushen, were sent to the upper realms when they were only in their teens by their father, the Luo clan patriarch, and entrusted with the care of reliable elders at a substantial cost. However, when Luo Jiujiang displayed extraordinary talent upon entering the immortal path, his father refused to send him away no matter what.

At the time, Luo Jiujiang simply assumed his father was reluctant to let his grandson go. He also felt he could cultivate more freely on the island, and with the like-minded Han Qianling by his side, it didn't matter if he didn't go to the Upper Realm. It wasn't until today that he vaguely understood: his father might have refused to send him to the Upper Realm precisely because of Luo Cang.

His new master was really good to him. If he compared the environment he had cultivated in with the sect his elder and second brothers had told him about when they came home, even the inner disciples might not have such conditions.

Perhaps out of fear that he might be too nervous or perhaps his mentality had slipped, his father had only instructed him to listen carefully to Luo Cang's lessons and strive to learn the art of sound killing. So, the subsequent confrontation between his own son and this clan leader, a man known for his hidden talents, was probably beyond the Luo clan leader's expectations.

Fortunately, despite many twists and turns, the final result is still gratifying.

Parents love their children and plan for them far into the future. Luo Jiujiang figured this out, feeling a mixture of emotions. He turned and saw the calm Han Qianling beside him, and a pang of sadness welled up in his heart: How could someone like Qianling not have parents who loved him?

A strong gust of wind blew, sending their sleeves flying. A corner of Han Qianling's sleeve was also lifted, revealing the wooden Buddhist beads on his left wrist. The beads shimmered faintly, evidently cherished by their owner, a layer of moist patina coating them.

When they were finally about to return to the Luo clan's territory, the two of them, unknowingly noticing something, looked in the same direction. The next moment, Han Qianling let out a soft "tsk" sound, and his right hand unconsciously touched the wooden bead that had been wrapped around his left hand three times.

A thin figure in a wheelchair appeared a hundred steps away, blocking the way in front of the two people.

"Master?" Luo Jiujiang looked up at the sunset - he confirmed that it was less than half an hour since he left?

Luo Cang raised his eyelids, glanced at the two of them, and said coldly, "Let's go."

"Then I'll go back." Luo Jiujiang patted Han Qianling's shoulder helplessly, "Relax, if there's anything, ask Luo Qi and the others to bring me a message. Although Madam Chen is gone, I'm always here."

Han Qianling shook his hand, smiled slightly, and said loudly: "We have always lived in the same courtyard. What can't be discussed in the evening? Go and practice your skills."

On the way back, Luo Cang wheeled his paint-chipped wooden wheelchair, occasionally glancing up at Luo Jiujiang. Luo Jiujiang felt uneasy at his gaze and whispered, "Master, what's wrong with me?"

"I see why you haven't caught a cold yet." Luo Cang sneered.

"ah?"

"Silly boy, you're sleeping on a cold kang. You're still healthy today. It's all thanks to your good luck."

Luo Jiujiang frowned, took two quick steps, and in the blink of an eye, he was inside Fenghexuan's main door. As expected, the ground was littered with broken porcelain. Du Di was folding his arms and sneering. Kneeling before him was a maid in a light pink dress, her head bowed deeply.

"The tea is hot and turbid, and the dust on the table isn't even wiped clean. Is this how you, the Luo family, treat guests? I've finally seen something new." Du Di, as if still furious, threw another teacup at the maid. The maid tilted her head, and the cup brushed past her forehead, then shattered on the ground with a loud crash.

"So majestic." Luo Jiujiang stepped over the threshold and glanced at Du Di with contempt. He turned around and helped the maid who was kneeling on the ground. "Are you hurt?"

The maid shook her head and raised her face, her expression showing no sign of being frightened by what had just happened. "I am not injured. Thank you for your consideration, young master."

Luo Jiujiang nodded sternly upon hearing this, but the anger in his heart had already silently ignited.

He'd often played around with his second brother as a child. Luo Liushen would usually cover up any major problems, while Yuelou and Yueting would handle minor matters. Luo Jiujiang was also adorable in his childhood, and his mischievousness was well-organized. Although Yuelou and Yueting often chased after him to clean up his messes, they never complained. In a nutshell, they were almost like Luo Jiujiang's half-sisters.
